Came here tonight for a friends birthday party and right off the bat my husband and I were unimpressed with the service. The restaurant was not packed for a Friday night, but it took a few minutes to even be greeted by someone. He precedes to tell us that they had a party that had been there for 4 hours (!) holding everything up, and when we said we were with the party upstairs (different party), he tells us that they didnt have a reservation so they were "kind enough to let them sit upstairs" but they were moving them downstairs and to wait for them. It took 10 minutes just to do that, didnt ask if we wanted anything to drink while we waited and didnt see a server until just before our friends whole party, all carrying their plates of food and looking pretty disappointed, came over to where we had been seated. My husbands friend who the party was for and his other friend tell us they did have a reservation but whoever took the call failed to write it down so that they didnt save the upstairs table, and was the third time that had happened to him from other times he had made reservations. Their food took an hour to come and all of it was cold when they got it, so barely anyone had even eaten anything they ordered. One guy had almost full plate of nachos that he ended up leaving; he had asked for a box and then they didnt give him a fork or offer to box it up for him so he left them sitting on the table with the box over it with a nice note. It took 45 minutes to get our appetizer and another 15 to bring our pretty basic pepperoni and pineapple pizza, so about and hour just like our friends. I only had one piece of pizza before and my husband just wanted to get the rest to go because it was almost 10 pm and everyone was getting ready to leave; they had all been there since 7, we got there about 8:45 because I had to work so we arrived late. With this weather I could have understood if they were understaffed but they had plenty of waitresses and our friends said they saw that there was a plenty of people in the kitchen, plus it wasnt even fully seated so I cant understand how it would take so long to serve the food. I will say that it is pretty delicious pizza and reasonably priced, and my husband liked the mushroom appetizer and we were lucky that our food was hot unlike our friends. Its a pretty far drive for us so we will not be going back even if we do find ourselves on that side of town again. Feel bad for our friend whose birthday party was a total bummer and all the people who wasted their money on cold food!

Coherent yet dysfunctional attempt at atmosphere. Hard rock/decaying buildings + pizza! What a genius idea! That aside, the pizza itself is quite nice. They offer a huge variety of sauces, crusts, and fresh toppings. The red sauce here is a little on the spicy side compared to sweeter at most pizza places. The lunch buffet is the way to try most common menu offerings, and is relatively affordable and kept well stocked. Drinks are fine-- they claim to have their own beers, but they appear to essentially be re-labeled local-ish micros. I have found service to be generally good. Do not expect extreme attentiveness and you wont be disappointed. Ladies, if your man goes to the bathroom send him in with a camera. The urinals are a unique visual treat, if you can imagine. Although since this is a hard rock type place you can probably just go in and check them out yourself.

The food is really good there and the restaurant has a neat look but the wait staff is really incompetent. They forget what you ordered and ignore half of your table and only refill drinks and bring stuff to half of your group and ignore the other half. They are really dumb and mess up your tickets and orders. The Rock in wood village only hires pretty DUMB people who cant do their job. So if you eat there get it to go you will have less of a problem. It will still be a hassle but not as bad because the seating hosts are also pretty DUMB people and cant get your order right no matter how many times you tell them what you want when you get it look at it before you leave because it will still be wrong.

Wow, talk about incompetent help up front? Screwed up a take out order that consisted of 4 items. Unfortunately it is not the first time but we all make mistakes, have a bad day. This time struck a nerve and prompted me to write this review because the gal lied to me a couple of times to cover her ass instead of just owning up to the mistake and taking care of the problem. Manager stepped in to help correct the problem but even that was a mess. After waiting and waiting I finally walked out. When I left their were 3 gals up front dealing with another guy who came in after I did on his pizza order they screwed up on. The direction this place is headed is pretty obvious. What a joke!

The service was almost nonexistent. We had a large wedding rehearsal party and had called ahead the day of with an ETA and the day beforehand and still waited for over an hour once we arrived for food. I asked for our check early since my wife wasnt feeling very well and I watched the waitress go to the register, print out other peoples checks, deliver those checks, and then talk with coworkers for 10 minutes before bringing me our check. She then took another 10 minutes to run my card and bring it back, while I watched her conversing with coworkers. The food was delicious, but the service was an absolute joke. I will not be visiting this location anytime soon.

I suggest not to eat at The Rock. We (party of 2) waited an hour for a personal pizza and a buger. We saw our waiter twice in that hour. We asked for the manager and he just apologized and said its because there was a big party ahead of us. All he offered us was a dessert which would probably take another hour. A family of 4 sat down and ordered at the same time as us, they were already done eating before we even got our food. We decided to get up and leave while the manager was making excuses. He followed us all the way outside and finally agreed to pack our food for us. So he made it right in the end but we will not be returning. They were not even that busy!

Rock Wood Village is one of the best spots in the area. Ihler is the bomb server, too nice! Her and Lindsay are worth the trip alone! Like a cool California style beach bar. Classic rock and great decor. Check out the Bad Company truck above the bottles. How did they get it up there?!?Head straight back to the bar to hang out for great food and drinks. Top quality and no rif-raf. The front is family friendly and super chill. Dont miss out. Nothing like it in the Gresham area. Pearl District out East! "Theyre playing Scorpions right now, Cheers!
