In the beginning , The restaurant looked nice and there were a lot of people on a Sunday which is usually a good sign. NOT HERE! If you want to wait 1 and a half hours for your food to find out they lost your ticket, but convienently served everyone else around you who came later something is wrong. We had to track the waiter to ask why it was taking so long since he took our order and left us ther for an hour and half without coming back up. The managers response was that it was on its way then after waiting another 20mins we had to go down again to get the damn food. All my group of friends were thinking was we need to go. There were 2 kids in our party that were past their bed time by the time we left at 9:30pm when we came at 6pm. DO NOT GO TO THIS RESTAURANT!!!!

I hadnt been to this place in over 10 years, and boy oh boy, am I glad I returned. This place is as good as I remember it. This place is perfect for ALL occasions: business dinner, catching up with friends, romantic date, family gathering, you name it. But the best action happens at the bar: you can meet new people, and overhear conversations from long-time regulars and SF natives! The bartender Christian takes good care of you, and hes also an SF native. I recommend sitting at the bar, loading up on the cheese & crackers, then ordering a drink and a small appetizer. You can easily get a meal for less than $20 here. If you like that old-school Italian restaurant swag and dont want to go to Joes of Westlake or North Beach, this is where you must go!

I love this restaurant.First of all its a fun experience just to sit at their bar which brings me back to the 50s with its retro look and liting..its fun just to sit and have a cosmopolitan or whatever and have their great cheddar and Ritz crackers and listen to frank sinatra..whats more fun than that. The hospitality is is there very Italian ...I know as my family had three Italian restaurant throughout the years....The veal scalapini is the best in town...I know because Ive tried them all.The chief is really an expert at making sauces taste with great flavor. The canneloni is also great.It. is cozy and and easy to be in with its nice waiters.I give this a five star for sure. Its worth it to try it out...you will want to go back.

The name is dumber than one can imagine. I thought it was Chinese. The food is for sure some of the best Italian food I have ever had in my life, and Im old. The lasagna was absolutely spectacular and the appetizers were the same. We had escargot in a creamy sauce that were wonderful, and we had the Burrata and heirloom tomato appetizer that was just as fresh as on a farm. We also had house-made ravioli in a white sauce. Terrific. The prices are very reasonable for the exceptional quality. Our service was first-class and Italian.

This is one of my wife and Is favorite spots to eat. Crab stuffed avocado salad is our favorite item. The steak is very tasty. Very very tasty. And medium rare was...medium rare. Not rare, not medium. But medium rare. Well marbled, and cooked to where the fat was soft and edible. It isnt the cheapest but great value. Great food at a decent price. 2 people will run you about $80 without desert. But sooooo worth it. We are repeat customers here.

It was my first and last visit here. The food is good, but service is horrible. We celebrated my wifes birthday here and in next 1.5 hours the waiter told us what this table is booked by next customer and we have to leave. We met our next guest and it was confusing for him what we have leave that place. My wifes birsday was spoiled

Best Italian food ever! MY husband and I have been going to the Gold Mirror for 30 years. We dont live in San Francisco anymore but we always make a point of having a meal here when we visit. The chef once sat at our table and told me exactly how to prepare the bechamel sauce. It will always be our favorite spot for dinner out.

The Gold Mirror hasnt changed despite a remodell some years ago, time stands still for an historical experience. The food is very solid, reliable, hearty. I especially recommend the lasagna and canolini baked pasta dishes. Wine and beer served.

This place is amazing. Lived nearby for years and never went it. Finally did, and what a surprise! The food is simply stunning! Good bread, creamy mozzarella, the most tasty veal and sole, and super fluffy cheesecake.

One of the finest italians in the city, I go here every week, sometimes 5 nights a week just for the calamari and their signature cannelloni dish. Finest, locally sourced ingredients only. 5* from me!!

We just dropped in by chance, a little unaddressed, and we could not have had a better experience. The atmosphere is old-world Italia, the food is memorably delicious, and the service is kind.

Unsafe undercooked chicken. Eating took roughly 2 hours with awful service. And the food that was properly cooked was awful. And on top of that bugs. I literally got bit by mosquitos in there.

Loved this place. Great atmosphere. Started with hot crunchy bread, split a cannolini, delicious fettuccine and took home a super moist sponge and cream cake. Awesome find!

This is hands down the best pasta Ive had in the city. Everything I had tasted fresh and paired well with the wine I was suggested. Will definitely be returning
