great place to spend time with your family and friends, great food, great bar. This is an small plaza kind corner mix of latin food truck parking lot and a local market where youll find real food from different areas of latin america like Cuba, Guatemala, Colombia, el Salvador, Mexico etc etc.

Festive atmosphere, fun for the family, kids trike and chalk area- my pup loves to come to the open air booths, each from a different S. American country- and Haiti! Fun, indoor bar also included plus a grocery and crafts. My favorite is the Haitian booths offering of delightful sweet, tender goat curry with a dynamic salad based with sweet red pepper and mango + LOVE! End booth Del Sol offers Tyaluda, pizza form on a thin crisp (not pizza crust) and piled with black beans, a plethora of vegies- avocados, tomatoes, plus, plus, plus! Expect to leave smiling! Prices are fair and great- youll gladly tip well.

The quality of ingredients amongst the food carts are low as they will choose to fill whatever you order to the brim with whatever is cheap and charge the maximum. Lets say you order a steak burrito with guacamole, good luck finding the guacamole and is that the 4th bite with a mouthful of only beans and rice with no steak??? Leave it to the pretentious hipsters to make this place popular since theyll pay out the nose for anything. I thought this place was going to be a dope addition to the neighborhood, which, for the store and bar and architecture, it is. If only the quality were as good as it looks.

This is a great hub of hispanic food. You can shop at the variety of grocery vendors inside, or you can enjoy the food carts out front. The food cart prices are as high as other food cart prices in town so you have to be selective to make sure youre getting your moneys worth, since its pretty easy to get cheap Mexican food. The cuban cart stands out to me as having the most flavor, and theres also one that has an excellent veggie burrito with zuccini. Although it is located along busy Foster Street, there is a nice covered seating area in front of the carts.

Visiting the Mercado is a real treat. There are multiple food carts that serve Central and South American food. There is also a wine bar on site that you can bring your food into. The have both wine and beer on tap. The atmosphere is fun. The outside patio area is dog friendly, so my pup is usually with me when I visit. I feel so fortunate that the Mercado is close to my home. Dont forget to check out the market inside. There are also sometimes art exhibits inside.

This is a fun area to try out food from a variety of Latin countries. Its fun to go with a few friends, and each person can easily get food from whichever food truck they prefer. The prices are really fair, and the offerings are authentic and tasty. This is a great place to support small businesses and experience an important part of Portland culture. There are two small lots that have had free parking available every time Ive been here.

I was missing the Mexican aspect of my upbringing pretty hard, so when my cousin from that side of the family came into town, we stopped by this place, and it cleared that right up. Having the food trucks + a place inside to eat, + a small mercado + a carneceria + music = an awesome experience. CHECK IT OUT YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO JUST DO IT. There are some cash-only spots in there, but theres an ATM, so dont trip.

Very nicely crafted food cart pod. They have indoor bathrooms and wifi as well. Outside wood communal tables for dining and an indoor area as well. Awesome selection. Tierra - great Oaxacan style food, handmade blue corn tortillas, squash blossom quesadillas, friendly people. Que Bola - fried plantain was sweet and tasty. Lady at the front was informative and friendly as well.

Food is good, but way over priced. I went in to the fruit box, and got some loco chips aka tostilocos and I was really disappointed. The bag was small, fruit chopped to a big size... If you want to try some real " loco chips" go to the flea market in Gresham and you will thank me! (Not promoting, just being honest) But definitely eat at the food carts, theyre good.

Frankly...food courts scare me. Portland Mercado is a delightful exception. The appeal starts when its still a block away. The eight food carts, representing different Latin cuisines, are fronted with a covered area for shade and shelter in Portlands unpredictable weather. I confess that I have not tried all of them, but I have not yet been disappointed.

Food was good, a little pricey for what you get. The fruit box on the other hand was NOT what I was expecting.. Very disappointed in their "tostilocos" nothing like I wouldve thought. A small bag of chips with very little fruit and chopped to a big size (not easy to eat). Not like anything you get around Gresham, the right way to prepare tostilocos

A wonderful evening spot. The sight of the multi-colored food trucks is very welcoming. The atmosphere was wonderful and the food is definitely worth every cent. One of the trucks served Blue Corn tortilla tacos and it was delicious! The seating area is comfortably located next to Barrio where several patrons sat down and ate what the ordered.

A culinary foodcart tour of Latin foods. Ive tried the Columbian, Puerto Rican and Haitian inspired carts and look forward to oaxacian next. Consistently good food and on Saturday music too! The little mercado has quite a few import sauces and products packed in a tiny space and they make their own salsas. We drive from nopo just to go here.

The Mercado is a shot in the arm for the Foster-Powell neighborhood, transforming a derelict block into a lively and colorful space packed with music, food and grocery essentials. After its first year in operation, the Mercado has lived up to its founding ambition to be an anchor for Portlands growing Latino community and small businesses.

Portland Mercado is a really nice outdoor area with a huge variety of Latin American food available at the various food carts. The food is cheap, delicious and quite varied. Its not just meals and drinks, either. If youre there, you should also check out the market building, where theres a grocer, a butcher and even a sweet shop.

Good food but prices are high for what is mostly rice and beans, also they shouldnt have price-locked their sodas at $1. Seating is a little too close together and not the most comfortable eating experience being right next to Foster Rd. Much better Hispanic/South American food can be had for cheaper around town.

So many good food stalls, we had the chilaquiles, good basic standard breakfast food, the pork ribs in stone amazing spicy red sauce, it went well with the chilaquiles too, from the second one from the left, and the cubano and shrimp plate from the Cuban one. Amazing food, cant wait to go back here again.

Awesome little place loaded with great variety of food trailers and a small Mexican market inside. Great coffee shop too, some of my favorite in town. Always friendly faces, a great small bar to hang out at with a super friendly bartender, and great access to some of the harder to find Mexican staples.
