I must say being born and raised in southern California where the culture and diversity is immensely all over the place. It has been hard to find good authentic food of a diverse culture other than hamburgers and brunch specials here. The Pepper tree Thai Cuisine not only served a deliciously awesome lunch dish of yellow chicken curry. But it also delivered some of the friendliest warm and welcoming customer service I’ve experienced here. Of course I did not sit and eat at the restaurant due to time constraints but as I waited for my food I was offered hot tea or water while I waited. Once my food was handed to me the young woman went on by telling to have a nice day and to come back soon. I left with a smile on my face and isn’t that precious.

I am really surprised by the reviews below me. I have been eating at Pepper Tree for 8 years and have never had an issue with the portions. I am not a small guy! If you leave there hungry and are capable of eating twice what they gave you, then I suggest that the problem is not with the restaurant.l A lunch dish is right around $6 and dinner is around $10. I have tried other Thai restaurants in Portland, but keep coming back to Pepper Tree. I used to work nearby and have easily had 400 meals there. The food quality is consistent! Always fresh and delicious and the service is excellent.

Was taken here on a date once and we walked in right as they were winding down for the night. They welcomed us with open arms and were thrilled to help us :) the food had great flavor, my favorite is the Pad See Ew and theirs was by far the best! The lady that served us was so funny and loved to talk and made sure we were doin alright. They were gracious of our business and happy to have us! The inside is a quite and peaceful environment! definitely need to go again!

Everything Ive tried has been top-notch, especially the chicken dishes. Some of the best food for the price in my area, and the service is fast and pleasant, Ive seen the owner(s?) around too, and theyre very friendly. I would like to say that they have by far the best peanut sauce Ive ever had, and it goes excellently with almost every dish. Overall: Definitely recommend this place.

The food is good the service is good the decor is plain. For the price you pay for the food the servings are very small and I felt like the prices took advantage of me. For instance soup for 1 4.95 soup for 2- 4 895 but you only get 2/3rds as much. Servings are very small. This is not the place to go if you are looking for a good deal on thai food.

Weve frequented this place for over 12yrs. Weve tried other places, they just dont compare. Pepper Tree is it. REAL. GOOD. THAI. Excellent prices with super tastey grub made by actual Thai people. And they know our names. :-) We love it. That Ian guy musta had a cold or something... or he was just having a bad day.

Nice place in general, but the beef in our dishes was gristly. I have no doubt the chef was capable of great things with proper ingrediants as the vegtables and sauce were quite good. The place is well decorated and service was great, but poor meat sorta ruined the whole exeperience

This is our favorite neighborhood Thai restaurant, I too am surprised by the negative comments. Food is always yummy, well prepared and generous proportions. My whole family loves it and we are always greeted as old friends! Pork Wings are a family fave!

Great Thai, easily one of the best in Portland (if not THE best). Very affordable too. Its run by a husband and wife duo, the wife is the cutest thing, my husband and Id go just to see her. One of our favorite places to eat, for those two reasons.

The food is great, tea is wonderful, and the service always brings me a smile. I can get mild enough food to keep my stomach happy, while my husband can get spicy enough food to make his eyes water. Its excellent!

Yes, it is in a strip mall but dont let that throw you. This is the place we always return to for Thai food. Weve tried other places but nothing beats it. The owners are very friendly. The prices are good.

This is my favorite Thai food joint. Their spices are legitimate, theyre food is amazing and the staff is friendly. The restaurant is very clean and the cooks wear gloves and face masks. Superb.

Excellent Thai food and amazing service. My wife and I go here regularly. I recommend the Thai iced tea and any of the curries. For vegetarians, they can substitute any meat there with tofu.
