I used to have a favorite Teriyaki joint about 2 miles closer to me on Barbur Blvd. It closed down over a year ago and since then Ive been searching for a new place. I LOVE chicken teriyaki and I know what good teriyaki tastes like as Ive eaten at practically every japanese restaurant in the Portland/Metro area, not to mention all the restaurants in the other places Ive lived. The important thing is, I will now drive the extra few miles (there is another, closer place) to get my teriyaki at HOT because I went there last night and was blown away. Ive driven by it a million times and for some reason never noticed. The chicken was lean and well cooked, generously sauced, and the rice was sticky, sweet, and not overcooked. the gyoza was hot, crispy outside, tender inside,,, in short, everything I was looking for. Even the cabbage salad was mild, sweet and crunchy, providing that perfect counterpoint to the chicken and rice. This place deserves your business. They have certainly won me over.

I went there based on the good reviews I read here expecting a tasty generous meal for a good price. Well it was generous... I could hardly finish it... because the chicken tasted like cardboard! I had the famous spicy chicken. The rice was good... There was a lot of meat, but the meat had a dry, mealy texture and a strong carboard odor (like it was frozen in a carboard box for a long time). It also had a one dimensional spiciness, like they only used sriracha chili sauce. There wasnt much cabbage salad, but it was good. My girlfriend had the yakisoba chicken. The noodles were a little too oily, but cooked perfectly. The amount of veggies was moderate. It looked like the chicken was just boiled, and there wasnt very much of it. Finally the price, each of those cost $7! What a rip off! I am a teriyaki lover, and would rather spend $5 at "Panda Express" (Yuk!) than eat here.

I went in on a Thursday, which has always been the best day for teriyaki. I was excited. Id heard good things. I took a seat in a booth near the window, after waiting 20 minutes for the hostess, and tried not to look invisible. Four hours later a 10-year-old Cambodian boy asked in broken English for my order, "What you like eat?" I ordered the teriyaki ostrich. Id never had ostrich, but Id heard good things. I was excited. Three weeks later a live ostrich served me what appeared to be teriyaki Cambodian boy. I let it go--probably a mix up in the kitchen. It was a little dry. Overall I was unimpressed. The bartender was cute, which is why Im giving two stars instead of one, but she was covered in white power tattoos, which I understand may be a deal-breaker for some.

Been eating there since the first day they opened probably 20 years ago. The owners Lee and Suengrai are wonderful, friendly and hard working folks. I have eaten there probably 250 - 300 times. I used to live five minutes away and now I have to drive 20 miles away. It is worth every mile! Just made plans to meet Asian friends there for dinner this next week. I think they will really like it too. The food is fresh and cooked while you are waiting. I seldom have to wait more than 10-15 minutes for my meal. You never leave hungry. The portions are very generous and the prices are reasonable. If you like Asian food, try this place. It is clean, small and not fancy, but great food! Located just half a block west of Fred Meyer on Pacific Highway.

I have been going here since 1996! The best teriyaki in the whole Portland Metro Area. The place hasnt changed much but its clean. The family that runs it remembers me every time I come in. When my friends come to town I will take them here. The teriyaki sauce is homemade secret recipe and the salad that comes with it is amazing! That dressing is also a secret family recipe. The chicken is flame broiled and so flavorful. This place hasnt been open this long without doing something right!! It doesnt look like much on the outside but the food speaks for itself!

I really wanted some teriyaki but I was hesitant because Ive had bad experiences with some iffy teriyaki joints in the past. But I thought I would try this place out because I read grwat reviews. The lady that greeted me was so sweet, offered me ice water, and she knew I needed a box before I even asked. The food was sooooo good! It was a great portion and I took about half to go. You have to wait a little bit but its because they are making it when you order. Its worth it for how great it was. I will definitely go back for lunch again.

We moved here from Las Vegas last summer and I work over in Tigard. I passed this place a few times and would have kept passing it had it not been for reading a review about it. I am glad I stopped in. This is my go to spot for lunch now. Sometimes 3 days a week! The best Yakisoba in town and the teriyaki beef , which usually is full of fat and gristle, is tender melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Their sauce is magical. I cant recommend them enough.... just go already.

I am a weird chicken person I normally do not eat teriyaki chicken for this reason the chicken eye needs to be Cartledge and gristle free and every visit Ive made to the House of Teriyaki a half-dozen times the chicken is meticulously prepared cooked and presented $7 huge lunch special try to eat every last bite it is a lot of food anyway Ill leave the long wind for others with better articulation the best teriyaki chicken in my 44 years

Ive been to quite a few teriyaki restaurants over the years. House of Teriyaki is the best! The folks that own/operate the place are great. The know what I want as soon as I walk in the door, Spicy Chicken. The cabage salad that comes with most dishes is amazing. The egg rolls are nice and crispy on the outside and come with a delightfuly sweet dipping sauce. I no longer live in Tigard, but its worth the drive every time.

Great Place to Eat! Nice people great food. Ive been going there for almost 16 years. Only Teriyaki as good is House of Teriyaki II in Wilsonville. And whoever wrote the review about bad service and the bar tender wrote about the wrong place. There is no bar or waitstaff. You walk up the counter order your food and they bring it to you. Nothing Fancy Just great food. The Teriyaki Chicken, and Yakisoba are wonderful.

DO NOT EAT HERE IF YOU HAVE A PEANUT ALLERGY. I ate there before work and had to go to the urgent care because my throat started to close up. It turns out they put peanuts in their sauce and dont say so anywhere in the store or on the menu the man gave me to take home. Food was good and service was nice but this is a serious health hazard that almost sent me to the hospital and could do the same to someone else

Have been going here for like 15 years. Since I was like 12 with my pops. Their chicken teriyaki is booomb and kimchee is on point. They have "Mexican coke" (probably not the most PC term) the one with cane sugar. My friends like that one the best, personally I am all about the canned coke. Parking kinda blows at times but there is parking in the back. PS - their spicy chicken is really good!
