I LOVE Thai food, and I Love it spicy. So I was kinda dissapointed when my dinner arrived White-Bread Bland after specifically requesting HOT. The restaurant was only medium busy that night and the wait-staff was not under any pressure, yet it took about 10 minutes for our waitress to acknowledge my signal AND call. When she finally reappeared at our table, I requested that my meal be prepared again, this time Spicy as originally requested. I also requested that it be remade, and not just slathered with hot sauce and returned to me. 3 minutes later, I had a plate of cold, hot-sauce covered slop (it was the SAME food that I had sent back... Now covered in Sriracha hot sauce) !!! The rest of my familys meals were OK and so they had been eating the whole time... I was able to attract our waitress after a few more minutes and point out that, not only was this the same plate of food Id been served originally, it was now stone cold and would she please this-time, bring me a freshly made, properly prepared meal... I was still waiting for my dinner to arrive long after my family was done eating. I got to watch them eat... And then they got to watch me eat when my meal FINALLY arrived, the way it should have been prepared the first time!!! There was NEVER any apology from the waitress or the manager. All I received was the bill for all 4 dinners at full value. Upon arriving home that evening, I sent an email to Thai Orchid immediately. It took OVER a month and 3 more emails before Thai Orchid even responded. I am so Very unhappy with my dining experience and subsequent frustration with correspondence. The Thai Orchid in Vancouver should be avoided at all costs. When they get it wrong, they really screw the pooch !!! Wish I could give them NO stars !

Good sushi, fast service, good happy-hour, but "Kid-accommodating", not "kid-friendly". Came here Thurs around 4:30pm. 2 adults, 2 kids. Wasnt too busy yet. First thing I noticed was the parking lot was really small - maybe 8 spaces. But there seemed to be enough (metered) on-street parking around the restaurant. So plan to pay for parking (BRING COINS!). Restaurant was spacious and clean. We were greeted and seated quickly. Our server, William, was AWESOME throughout the service (Very helpful, attentive, good recommendations, made sure food and drinks were right. Even when the restaurant was getting busier as it got closer to dinner, his service stayed great). FOOD - good happy hour prices/selection. The regular-priced menu has a big selection and was reasonably priced as well. We had various Sushi rolls, some Thai-flavored wings, and crab puffs. Sushi tasted fresh. All the food was really good and came out quickly. KIDS -There was no kids menu or kid-friendly cups, so we had to be creative with the menu and careful with the glasses. They recommended the veggie rolls and a couple other things, but we ended up doing a side of white rice (asked for a side of a slice of butter to give it a little flavor) and a side of steamed chicken (it was plain chopped up chicken - which was fine). They thought it was good. Overall I wish they had a kids menu and kid-friendly tableware, but well definitely be going back (and bringing our own kids cups and crayons/paper!). I cant say enough good things about William - I hope all the servers there are that great!

I was in town on business, someone said this Thai place had a good sushi bar. I did not order any Thai food from the menu so my review is strictly for 2 rolls and sushi nigiri. It was ok but not my style. Many may like it but I was looking for more traditional sushi without all the dots of sauces and decorations on the plate. whats with the meaningless unraveling carrot strewn across the plate? I ordered sushi and got more of an errand as I began plowing through all that stuff just to get to the food. Anyway... I thought that the rice wasnt made properly. The texture and temperature was off as well. For those who dont mind rolls with sauces and the like, it will probably be ok, but not for me. The staff was friendly and attentive. No issues there. What I thought was awkward was this guy standing next to the bar the entire time I was there not really doing anything. I asked who he was, it turned out he was the manager. May I suggest something? Make better use of your time Sir and talk to your customers, see how they are doing. When Im in the mood for Thai on my next visit to town, I will try the Thai.

Attractive, trendy restaurant with a clueless service staff. Been here 3 times and never a one could tell me whats in a dish or how it is prepared. Its a crap shoot of disappointments! The sushi is better than most you will find in the "Couve, but, that aint sayin much. Dollar for dollar, your money is better spent at Sushi Hana. At least its cheap. This cool digs place serves up Beautiful "Fusion Style Sushi" with creations that, if you ordered it in a Tokyo Sushi house, you would be greeted with stares of bewilderment...Much like one would give a dog that just spoke in Portuguese. A trendy restaurant that serves a fancier grade of sushi than most places in Vancouver which is far better than the Thai food they offer. The Thai food is attractive yet sub par and flavorless, regardless of how spicy you order it. Head on over to Thai Little Home. It seems to be the best around here but again, that still aint sayn much! Thai Little Home still gets my vote for Thai eats in the "Couve" Once again, the other reviews for this restaurant just seem to not know any better.

I want to make it clear that I am only reviewing the waitress and prices of this place. I did not eat here so I cannot comment on that. I went here a couple of days ago and the hostess/waitress, who also manned the register, acted like she could care less if we ate there or not. In fact, she acted like we were bothering her by showing up. She was a middle-aged woman about 50 or so and she had the usual Asian eye and hair colors. I opened the menu and basic Chicken Fried Rice (Thai-Style) was 7.95. That is an absurd price for a little hole in the wall place in a strip mall. I didnt even order, I just walked out and the lady still didnt seem to care. Ill give her this, she is consistent, but not cut out for customer service. I honestly wonder how these people wind up in customer service jobs, and even wonder more how they keep these jobs. Its one of lifes big mysteries. Go figure. The place seemed clean and the other customers seemed happy enough and that is why I did not give it one star.

First and foremost, the food was PHENOMENAL! It was hot, fresh, and tasted amazing! The service, however, left much to be desired. Myself and a group of friends went there for food on Labor Day. It wasnt until almost half an hour after being seated that our food order was taken and then, as we attempted to order lunch specials, it was explained that they were not being served because it was a holiday. The waiter was not only abrupt, but was rude and any time we asked for something (a refill on our beverages, a box for our food, etc.) he would roll his eyes, sigh, and give nothing but attitude. It took almost 2 hours from the time we were seated before we were able to leave and that was with us having to wave the waiter down at any given time he walked by in order to get service. I had to take my food with me because we were in a time crunch. It was extremely disappointing and based on the horrid service, I will not eat there again.
