You wont find a better store with friendlier staff than this new seasons. Even though its not going to have the selection that say, Whole Foods, might have, or be as 100%organic as some of the smaller health food stores are, I would still prefer to shop here because a lot of the prices are reasonable and the staff is incredibly helpful. After you come for a while, they know you, and offer the best, most honest customer service youll get in town. In addition, they always have lots of yummy samples to try: drinks (including coffee) and tasty bites. Speaking of coffee, I love to get a mug of hot organic coffee here for $1.50 and put in agave syrup, soy creamer, sprinkle on some cocoa powder...items you wont find at Starbucks. They even have a nice-sized eating/cafe area, where you can sit back and enjoy that coffee - or a meal - with friends, family, or just by yourself. I recently tried their online home-delivery service and found it to be excellent as well (although it comes from a different new seasons than this one). I believe they are the only natural foods store in OR that offers home-delivery. Overall, a fantastic shop with quality items at decent prices, fantastic ambiance, and super-fantastic people. My only recommendation is to increase the deli selections and offer more strictly vegan or vegetarian food items from there, creating a special section for this as many other natural foods stores do. After all, there probably are a fair number of vegetarians who come by the store. This new seasons is the oldest one in town, so maybe that makes the site even more special. I highly recommend!

I come for the wheat nut bread, but that is about it. Yes, the staff is friendly, but so is the staff at Fred Meyers. Most people are naturally friendly, so the privately held New Seasons tries to take credit, as though it has somehow created friendly people. New Seasons is grossly overpriced. If everyone in the US had to pay their prices, there would be serious malnutrition in the land. Even run-of-the-mill canned foods are grossly overpriced. Bulk food cost about twice what Fred charges. Of course, they will plead the extra cost of "organic" and "natural" and there is something to that, but organic is not boutique anymore. It has gone big time. New Seasons has a huge "new age" section with outrageously priced "natural" herbal remedies which have never been shown to be effective, which is why people died like flies before modern, science based "unnatural" medications. Among them are the infamous homeopathy "remedies", which are quackery raised to the googleplex power. Nevertheless, the gullible consumers of "natural" products shell out big bucks for all this garbage. So thats it. Good overpriced bread with a lot of overpriced everything else and a large collection of pseudoscience.

This is the first new seasons, which says a lot about the friendliest grocery store in town. Being their first store, this location does somethings better than the rest, but is smaller than the average. New seasons, for those who dont know, is the perfect mix of a small co-op and a find it all grocery chain (like Safeway). I couldnt ask for a better selection of health foods that appears to always be growing and distilling only the best products to the shelves. .

Very good and healthy food. Its a bit expensive because organic type foods are, but well worth it if youre into health and can afford it. Loads of fresh deli foods, organic veggies and fruits, hot foods to eat there or to go, and regular grocery foods with an organic twist. The ppl are super friendly and helpful! Ohhh.. pet foods, vitamins, and all kinds of natural /organic skin care, etc... etc.

Had my wedding bouquet, flower crown and husbands boutonniere made at the flower department. We walked in without much of a clue of what to get, the staff was very knowledgeable and what they put together came out great! Simply and beautiful. The woman working that day took on the project of my flower crown and Im very pleased with her work. Highly recommend their flower department!!

New seasons has some a good selection of organic foods and natural foods. This particular one has an outside sitting area with flowers and is quite pretty. The food can be a little more costly but of course your buying higher quality food. I wasnt asked if I needed help but thats ok as well. Employees can be busy and I dont expect them to be my personal shoppers either.

Being the first New Seasons in town adds to the charm, but as can be seen in the large size of most all other New Seasons, they have slightly outgrown the current building and it can feel a little cramped and crazy in there, especially when busy. Other than that, it is still just as great as any New Seasons and quite convenient to stop by for a couple items.

The layout of this New Seasons is not the most convenient with parking or the most comfortable with the deli right behind the entrance, people often end up stacked right behind the doors waiting in line. The store is very nice, well lit and prices are as expected for a higher end grocery, amazing selection of high quality meat and specialty items.

Thanks for being our reliable grocery store! Its been here for the entire life of a couple of my children (now in high school) not like some of these upstart New Seasons stores. :) Some of the same employees-old friends are still there. If you are looking for local produce, fresh meat and delicious prepared food, this is the store.

Best organic produce around and they support local farmers and ranchers. New Seasons is a B Corp, so youre supporting a life philosophy, not just buying apples and spinach when you shop here. Expect to pay more for most things. Great selection of natural or otherwise alternative products. The staff really are friendly.

Huge New Seasons, and wonderful. Like all New Seasons, great selection, informative and helpful staff, and great value. They always have great things on sale, and great things to try. I love the atmosphere of this place. Everyone should do all of their shopping at New Seasons if they can.

The best part of grocery stores is samples. New Seasons always has tons of them. Nice selection of beer. The seafood is color coded by sustainability so you know if youre destroying the ocean with tuna craving. Parking here can be a pain though. Be patient.

New Seasons designed our wedding flowers and they were SO BEAUTIFUL and so affordable too! Their arrangements were way better than some of the samples we saw from other florists. I am so happy we decided to trust New Seasons with our special day!

Sweet place. Super yuppie and fancy, so we dont buy regular groceries here. But they have awesome sandwiches a great beer selection and some cool hipster groceries. This is a super Portland place, I always visit to take things back home.
