Came here our first night in PDX and got the "Cubano" which is actually a Cubano spring roll! It is SO GOOD that my fiance and I have had one every week since that fateful day 6 months ago. They have a surprising good menu for the look of the bar, duck tacos, "pigs in a blanket"(which is really pork belly in a flaky dough!) all delicious and fresh. My Fiance loves the cocktails(he says they are generous!), and the staff is very friendly. Only complaint would be that it is quite dark even mid day for a bar. But I guess it is a bar...

Last November my wife spent a month in OHSU hospital. Were from central Oregon so not real familiar with Portland. A friend told me to check out LWs. What a great place! Food is superb. Cubano my favorite snack. Staff really lifted my spirits during a pretty dark period. Oh...and its a place for all ages, not a chug and puke like a lot of the younger, more crowded places.

Great staff, surprisingly fantastic food (try the wings and fries) and tasty, cold drinks. All reasonably priced. Lots of room to sit inside and out. Doesnt get too loud even with 200 people in there! Overall great spot on all occasions whether you want to watch a game, play arcade, enjoy the live bands or just relax.

Things that are good about the Lightning Will 1) my wife likes the LW a lot 2) they have a good tap list 3) taco Tuesday 4) last time I was there, they had a $1 pounder fire sale. You cant even buy beer that cheap at the grocery store. 5) my credit card gives me cash back when I go here. 6) they allow dogs

I love this place! The staff is super friendly, the food is incredibly good even for a much fancier place, the beer selection is great and the space is big and comfortable. Ive had great interactions with TJ, a co-owner, Ronnie, the chef extraordinaire, and Greg, the lead bartender. Check this place out!

omg. Corey is awesome. Taught us the shuffle board, gave us an awesome run down of the beers. what a blast!! seriously I got the A list treatment. super nice staff. The staff was interacting with us, everyone is so warm, super funny. the place is clean. Awesome tap selection. Im in love. I heart LW.

Service is poor. They explained that beers over 8% are served in a 10oz "chalice" so we ordered the 4.2% gose. That beer came in the 10oz. size with no explanation. I then ordered some wings which ended up being $12 and they were overcooked. Go elsewhere.

Amazing service, great food, great drinks, fantastic prices. Really cool place to go for any occasion. Ken (one of the bartenders) was super amazing and made awesome drinks. His service was phenomenal and he was hilarious. Ill definitely be back!

Consistently good food, made from scratch. Likely one of the best brunch spots in northwest portland. Clean and varied beer taps, and a well-curated whiskey selection. Good spot for large groups or sports. Friendly and genuine staff.

Came here when I visited Portland in November and loved the place. The food was rediculously good (I had the cubano & duck tacos) and they had a solid selection of beer. Definitely coming back next time Im in the city.

Very friendly neighborhood bar with a nice relaxed atmosphere. The bartenders get to know regulars and remember their drinks and drink preferences. There are games in the back, too.

Service is terrible. Food is decent about 1/3 of the time, other times under or over cooked. Beer prices are higher than any location in the area. Definitely will not be back.

Service is awful. Takes forever to get food. Overpriced for what you get. Fries were soggy and the burger was overdone. You have a gauntlet to get to the bar to get a beer.
