Walking around Portland looking for my next food venture Killer Burger is screaming good vibe. I follow a crowd inside. Every burger is 1/3 pound, includes bacon, and is a two fisted messy handful served in a basket with fries. I order the Classic Burger ($9.95) with cheese, lettuce, tomato, house sauce, grilled onions, and pickles. Theres a lot going on with it flavor wise, except for the burger. I like to taste beefy goodness when eating a dish like this with the rest of the ingredients complementing it. The house sauce and bacon unfortunately rule this sandwich. Looking over the menu its apparent they use burgers and bacon as the canvas for all of their creations, layering on a lot of different ingredients most of which would overwhelm a 1/3 pound burger. So Im guessing it tastes that way by design. A thicker patty would really make this a killer burger. The thick cut russet fries are hot and superbly cooked. Killer Burger is high energy, pumped up with a lively banter from the open kitchen and piped-in dance music. They offer a selection of 10 Northwest (mostly Oregon) craft beers. Servers are friendly and on task and prices are reasonable. There is some outdoor seating, good for people watching.

Pros: Food Price ($8 per person) Cook to Order Happy Hour 5-5-5 Deal Cons: No Gluten Free Options No Vegan Options Closed Sunday -Food- Easily my favorite burger joint in town. Love this place, and I frequent it. Plenty of options, and every burger comes with bottomless fries. Their fries are not that great though, but their burgers are where it is at. -Price- All their prices are very reasonable. -Cook to Order- One of the few places that will give you a rare burger if you order a rare burger. Although, last time I went, out of the dozen or so times I have gone, they gave me my burger well done. -Happy Hour- During happy hour, their already great prices get even lower. Defiantly worth checking it out. -5-5-5 Deal- A burger, a beer, and a shot for $15. Cant argue with that. What makes it better? This is not a happy hour special, this is a deal you can get anytime. -No Gluten Free Options- Sorry, then this isnt the place for you. Of course you could always eat your burger with a fork I guess. -No Vegan Options- Unless you count the fries, I they dont have anything vegan on the menu. -Closed Sunday- It makes me unhappy when I forget that my favorite burger joint is closed on Sunday.

Compared to other burger joints, the taste of these burgers are 2nd to none. I have a vegetarian friend who occasionally cheats because Killer Burgers are so good. These are awesome burgers. On the negative side, the downtown store is not as clean as the Vancouver store. Also, some of the employees look like they havent showered in a couple of days. This combination doesnt leave the best impression regarding the sanitary condition of the food. Also, KB is pretty low tech. As a busy professional, I call my order in ahead because this location is usually packed and the food takes a while to cook. Five Guys has an Android app that lets you order in advance, pay from your phone, and pick up the order with no need to wait in line to pay (now thats efficient). Five Guys rocks this! I wish KB had a similar app. Still, I prefer KB burgers and fries over Five Guys. One inconsistency is the downtown store takes Amex, but the Vancouver store does not -- odd.

Hands down the BEST BURGER weve had! Visiting Portland we followed the reviews and we scored big. Sharp flavors. You could taste everything on every bite. The bread, the rich meat and veggies. I got the one burger with the roasted peppers. The heat was perfect. The fries were amazing. They use sea salt and you could see the cook fixing every single batch. It is family friendly because it has a separate bar area. We didnt spend more than at RR(no offense RR) for a family of 5 which makes it affordable and Honestly I wouldnt mind paying extra. This place is worth it. We cant wait to go back.

You cant complain about the burgers -- every one has bacon on it, and theyre all delicious, in a sloppy, sinful kind of way -- but I have some issue with the attitude. Calling the smaller burger a "girly" size is pretty lame, and I wish they would consider some sort of options for sides, or at least offer the burgers ala carte -- Id come to Killer Burger a lot more often if I wasnt forced to pay for a giant stack of so-so fries with every order. Seriously, can you imagine a PBPB with sweet potato fries? A Teemah with a side salad? Its the dream.

Wow! This place is legit!!! They are located downtown across from the food truck lot. Place is spacious with a good atmosphere. They also have a full bar with a decent selection of draft beer. They have a good selection of burgers, all of them include bacon and bottomless fries. You cant go wrong with any of the options. I had the mushroom burger and it did not disappoint! Buns are soft, patties are well cooked but juicy, tasty condiments and sauces. Highly recommend it! If you want a tasty burger... This is the place!

Great burgers and a great downtown atmosphere make this location as killer as its name. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable of their menu and I am always greeted with a smile and my order is always correct and comes out hot. The beer selection could be a little better for the dark beers, but, there is a delicious red that is available and recommended. For the adventurous of heart try the peanut butter pickle burger which is a super rich burger and has a flavor profile that reaches near perfection.

OMG! This place rocks my face off. They have a semi-short menu with very limited options, but they are the best options ever. For all you non-veggie goers, yes, they put bacon on every burger and they sautee the onion in bacon fat. Veggie goers: you can get most burgers with a veggie patty (YES!), but note their onions are sauteed in bacon fat, so while it may be tempting its also death to the stomach (at least mine). Bottomless fries. Veggie burger options abounding. Eat here, thank me later.

Fries were good and hot. My burger tasted stale. I dont think it was the meat or the bacon it couldve been the bun but it I couldnt enjoy it. The staff was nice but very busy. My son got sick and puked in his sweater that I had to throw away on the way home from there. It was very busy but I dont know why. I did need to breastfeed in here and not one person was mean about it or acknowledged it. I did meet some friendly people in the restaurant. I dont think Ill return.

This was my first trip to Killer Burger, and I am very sad that I didnt go sooner! Service was fast, the burger was absolutely delicious! The fries were also pretty good, especially with their seasoning, and bottomless fries is always extra points for me. The only downside was back of house - the bathrooms seemed clean but the graffiti and slippery floor made them feel pretty run down, although the soap dispenser didnt seem to be working in the one I used either.

09/19/16: 4.0 out 5 - Came here for lunch with a buddy of mine. The place has good burgers with an interesting menu selection. Fries are okay and could be better, but its palatable. Considering that the place is situated downtown, the place is relatively clean. One thing the place should consider is try doing a good turkey burger. However, there is a garden patty available for the non meat-eater. Nonetheless, give the place a try and decide for yourself.
