My massage was with Lindsay. She is a sweet gentle young soul and I loved chatting with her though her work was so effective I probably should have just remained silent to soak in every moment! Anyhow if you ask for Lindsay, she will soon be finished with her training in Hawaiian Lomi Lomi massage. It is long continuous, flowing strokes, working gently and deeply. The energy flow helps to reduce mental and physical blockages. I could tell she was very focused, with a loving spirit. This being my first visit to Kiva, I decided to order one of the exotic teas. I ordered the one for stamina - cannot name all the ingredients but they blended beautifully! Very fresh brew. Your tea arrives with a three hourglass timer, so you can decide how long you want to brew your tea, or do whats recommended. After the massage I went to pay, but there was a bit of a delay because of a problem adding in the gift certificate. The woman at the register was apologetic and offered me another lovely cup of tea. I could have had anything I wanted but asked for Earl Gray, and it was great. The only reason I didnt give the place five starts was the price compared to some of the other places I checked. Two others were only $5 less per hour. However, the spa is an amazing serene beautiful tranquil retreat behind the cafe. You would never imagine such a 100% silent place. I look forward to returning and also trying out the very interesting food-is-medicine type of menu.

Beautiful spa in the back with tall ceilings, low lighting and a shower if you need it after your massage or facial. Products used for the massages are lovely and not too perfumy/old/or odd. Food in the cafe is fresh and delicious. Today I had the Asian Bowl and it had a heavy amount of vegetables and about a half cup of brown rice - not too much rice and barely any veges like some places. They have water available with an ever-changing add in. Sometimes it is cucumber and mint, today it was classic lemon. They have two women working behind the counter and another in the kitchen - not at all understaffed. The staff seem happy. Wonderful ambience with world music - today it is flamenco music. Highly recommended.

I really want to love this place and see it succeed, but every single time Ive been in, Ive waited over 20 minutes to get my order. Im simply ordering tea and a pastry to go. I get that its a day spa and intended for sit down and enjoy sort of place, but 20 minutes for an order to go is just too long. I feel absolutely terrible for the poor girl behind the counter doing the best she can to serve the customers all by herself. This place has so much potential, great food, great tea selection, friendly staff, but its being mis-managed by being understaffed and unorganized.

KIVA is an oasis! I used to work in the neighborhood and Id go there about once a week to get their lunch special, which was always fabulous and affordable. Although Ive never gotten any services there (its a day spa!) Im sure theyre wonderful as well. Incredible selection of teas and a very relaxing & hip environment. Great place to meet a friend / business for lunch. They are also very involved in the community and support Store to Door - a nonprofit that delivers groceries to shut in elders and people with disabilities. Good food, good space, good people!

My family and I tried KIVA when they were participating in a Dine Out event for local non-profit Store to Door (donating portion of their days sales), and I am so glad we did! What an amazing place--so warm and serene and peaceful. If you love tea, this is the place for you. And even if you dont, they make great coffee, and have a great selection of food. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, and made each person feel special. The granola is delicious! I will definitely be back again. This is a great place to take friends to catch up.

The smoothies here are the best Ive had in town and WAY better than any other places in the neighborhood, the only other decent smoothie around is laughing planet. I order the chai tea, good, but only one to go size? Also, bagel with lox: very tasty, but for $12 I need more than one slice of fish. There are two other places within a few blocks that offer a normal portion for less money. I pay in cash and am perplexed by how it takes about 30 seconds and a dozen mouse clicks to get the register open for my change.

Great Tea Bar, Day Spa and Cafe! Healthy and yummy options from Breakfast to Lunch and early Dinner. Big Selection of fine teas, black/white/green/herbal and all Espresso Drinks you can imagine are served by kind people behind the counter. The Day Spa Section offers Facial, Massage and a Foot Sanctuary. I had a great deep tissue and a hot stone massage and it was one of the best Massages I ever had. I highly recommend this place! Mothers Day is coming up and they offer a wonderful HIGH TEA. RSVP necessary. :))

Kiva is one of the nicest people youll meet. Its a lovely cafe with big open windows, lots of healthy food options, and yummy loose leaf tea that you can enjoy before or after your spa treatment. Kiva does a great job building community which is much needed in Portland and has nothing but a great spirit. Also a nice place to go on a "girls day" spa day as they have massage, soaks, wraps, foot treatments, and the cafe side as well. A 23rd gem.

I really wasnt happy with this service. I had a Groupon. We were supposed to be offered tea and "snacks," but we werent. We were also given a head massage with oil, but they didnt have showers (or at least they didnt offer them to us) so we had greasy hair during our dinner. No robes were offered. The massage was okay, but not good enough to make the rest of it okay. Ive never had a spa experience quite like it. Definitely wont be going back.

One of my favorite places to stop in the neighborhood. The smoothies are fantastic, and the granola & yogurt fruit bowl is great too. Good selection of healthy menu items. Nice relaxing atmosphere inside, staff are always pleasant and helpful if youve any questions. As I usually have my dog with me, I really enjoy sitting outside at one of their sidewalk patio tables, just a nice spot to take a break and have a snack. Highly recommended.

Amazing from entry to exit. Kiva really has done an outstanding job with the tea bar and spa. excellent services and tea selection. If you are a tea lover, raw foodie, or in need of a little pampering and a r gonna be in the portland metro area, stop in and say hi to Kiva and her amazing staff.

Love Kiva, a great addition to the neighborhood. Have had lovely massages, great facials, and of course the food. Smoothies, especially the wicked witch, are delicious. Rice bowls and soup have always been fantastic. Nicely curated selection of pastries. One of our favorite spots.

Great tea, food is ok. The match a mint iced tea is to die for. The service used to be really great, but the last few times I went there the waitresses were quite rude, and one even hit my dog with a door without so much as an "oops".
