We live nearby and have been wanting to try Hana Sushi since they opened 3 years ago. We had plans to drive to Bamboo sushi across town in SE, but our friends got sick and cancelled so on the spur of the moment we walked to Hana Sushi. We had sushi on our minds.... Sushi places are good or bad. If its good it great,..... if its bad.... you get sick.. We were wary. It was GREAT!. Thank goodness. The Wau-Wau roll knocked my socks off, happy hour until 6pm. Nice. Alberta only has one sushi place..... unlike 5 Thai places. Lets keep them around. Were gonna go again.....yum

My absolute favourite sushi place in Portland. Expect to spend about 20-30 for a full meal which isnt that bad. If youre an avid conveyor belt sushi eater, I cannot emphasize enough how much you should go here and how much better it is. The waiters have always been nice and they have decent bottled beer to drink with your sushi (Heff and a lemon is my go-to), and of course sake and wine; I cant comment on those since Ive never had them. The menu is given to you with a dry erase marker and you mark off how much of each roll you want, its pretty fun.

Hana is a good, consistent place to get Japanese cuisine. Surprisingly, there arent many teriyaki/bento places in the neighborhood (fusion/specialty places not included) to just get Japanese food. Hana definitely fills the role and I more often then not I will phone in take out. The price is right, the quality if good, and the staff are nice. If you want Japanese food and youre looking in this neighborhood, this is the place to go.

This place was ok. The service was really slow. They sat us at a table behind a wall and then forgot about us. More importantly, the food was a little disappointing. The spicy tuna rolls were too fishy for my taste. And I think there was cheese in the Katsu Don and no pickles, which was strange. On a positive note, the dining area was clean and it was nice that the sushi chef greeted us as soon as we walked in.

Been a number of times and it seems to be loosing a bit of its shine. Will have to pass next time. Service was weak, for this kinda cash I would expect more attention. Filling the water glasses, bringing set ups for everyone at the table without having to be asked. Shushi was weak, tonkats were dry. Really just disappointed overall. Sorry but it is time to try somewhere new.

When I ask my husband if we can go to get the "good sushi " he and I both know I mean sushi hana. This place uses the freshest fish and has the best sushi chef, hes clean, funny, talented. His rolls are the best Ive ever had, and I try a lot of portland places. This is my 3rd visit and Ill be back again!

the sushi and entrees were a small step above average conveyor belt sushi. decent prices but gets 2 stars because of incredibly slow service, and on top of that half of our order was forgotten so we had to wait another painfully long stretch. over an hour from when we ordered, we finally got all our food

This is one of the better Sushi restaurants in Portland, with a tie close to Sinju but more affordable! I have been to this restaurant a few times, and the service is consistantly attentive. I love bringing people that have not been there yet, and sharing the experience never gets dull.

This place is cute with genuinely nice staff. The food is about average for this type of venue, and though it says "Japanese Bistro", the menu is mostly sushi. Not too many vegetarian options, but enough to get by if you need to.

One of the better Japanese places in Portland. Reliable Udon and Bento boxes. Good atmosphere, not a lot of waiting involved. Good service. Wed bike here often and if we had room, go for Salt and Straw afterwards.

Some of the best food I have ever tasted. I tried my first mussels (the baked mussel appetizer) and it was phenomenal. Our waitress was sweet and helpful, regardless of the late-night Last Thursday crowd.

Awesome place to eat with friendly fast service and delicious food. I had their edamame, miso soup, and Hawaiian roll, and all of it was so tasty! Great place to eat 10/10 Would recommend

The price is typical of quality sushi. The portions are above average. The quality and service are superior. Great sake selection. Two thumbs up.

Cheap and delicious. Service is variable. I went in with my husband and got great service, then I went in by myself and was mostly ignored.

The bento box is massive and the food is pretty good. My only real complaint is that they didnt have cold udon for the hot summer months.

The sushi was great, but took a little longer than expected. Was probably a bit busier than a normal Sunday night.

Damn good miso and cucumber salad for starters and the standard selection of rolls and nigiri you would expect.
