Great little restaurant with the best deal in Japantown: $8.99 for two items, rice, miso soup, and salad. My two items were veggie tempura and chicken katsu. I was thinking of ordering tamago, but the combo had filled me up! I also ordered hot green tea, which also had a hint of rice.. it was delicious! The katsu was fried to perfection. The miso soup had a lot of tofu, which surprised me. I usually expect just one little morsel of tofu, but there were several pieces. The veggie tempura had an assortment of veggies, not just the standard carrot, broccoli and potato. It was a very satisfying meal. There wasnt a lot of people, so the food came out quickly. Service was friendly and attentive. If you want to get away from the crowds and inflated prices, you should try Kui Shin Bo.

Overall I liked this place! If you dont know where to take your friends this place is fine but I will say the wait was fairly long. I was more impressed by the number of options they offered and wish I got to try more things! The portions are also pretty big. Specifically, the sushi was pretty good although Im not really a sushi connoisseur. Since you are in Japantown, I cant say for certain you cant find better sushi but they have a nice mix of ramen, sushi, bento boxes, and even sushiritos if you like that. Overall it didnt take too long for the food to come out despite the fact there were so many people. I will say the wait was fairly long (at least 20-30 minutes maybe longer but I was so hungry I cant remember) so just be sure to take that into account.

Returned for the 2nd time at Kuishin bo after many months!Visited with two friends, one of which was vegetarian. Between the 4 of us we shared: - Sashimi platter (salmon, tuna and saba) - vegetarian roll and vegetarian okonimiaki - volcano roll - caterpillar roll - baked salmon roll - philadelphia roll This place is consistently great. Amazing vibe and energy in this cozy little sushi place in Japan town. Food is fresh and tasty. Service is efficient, fast and friendly. Prices are great too. Plenty of vegetarian options as well - our friend was very happy with her choices! Will always return to Kui shin bo :)

I have been here several times and typically go here when I visit Japantown. This is one of the, if not THE, cheapest Japanese restaurants in this area. They have their two item combination meal for less than $10! And their sushi is reasonable too! Its not the easiest place to find and its not really noticeable. Its also typically not extremely crowded, although sometimes you may have to wait a few minutes. The service is also really exceptional and friendly. I bring all my out-of-town visitors here whenever we visit Japantown. Highly recommend!

Kui Shin Bo is a wonderful restaurant in Japan town San Francisco California. The owner and his wife are gracious and attentive to all patrons needs. The service is great and the food has a home made touch which makes this restaurant all that more inviting. The Lunch/Dinner special is very affordable for the price of $8.50 (9.22 with tax) which allows you to select two objects from a list displayed in the front of the restaurant and inside as well. If youre a sushi fan I suggest trying the spicy tuna roll. Its to die for.

Mangiato ottimo sushi e ramen.

Had a lovely lunch here, back in April. The food came out quickly and was delicious. A staff member approached me during my lunch, to apologise for other patrons who were letting their bratty children run wild in the restaurant. I thought that was a nice gesture.

An amazing menu with many authentic Japanese Dishes. Best Okonomiyaki in San Francisco, possibly all of NorCal. The staff is super friendly and helpful. You wont believe the prices, and they dont close for the lull between lunch and dinner!

I went there at 4s. Even so, I waited outside for a while and waited again after order over 30 minutes. Above all, there are a lot of yelp signs which made me offended: Itd deleted my review after CAnativescapes bought an ad there.

A very nice and quiet Japanese restaurant off in a corner of the Japantown shopping mall. It has, in my opinion, the best bang for your buck in terms of food. The sushi is nothing to write home about though.

Ramen was good, nice presentation and tasted good, except the pork was a bit burned, like when meat chars from being grilled to close to the flame. Fast service, chairs were tiny and a little uncomfortable.

Low key, great food, affordable, since its a small place you just have to deal with waiting a bit longer than usual. You need to write down your name and how many on a pad paper hanging by the entrance.

Loved the food! Great rice is what makes sushi good or not, and theirs was delicious. Perfectly chewy and sticky. We loved the sushi rolls, the sushiritto, and the miso soup. Would love to come back.

This is one of the few places in Japantown with courteous service. They also have delicious set meals at reasonable prices as well. Check out the blackboard near the front for options.

Does this make sense? My group of three was given a table only good for two, while another group of two arriving immediately following us was given a bigger table for four.

Super authentic Okonomiyaki. Everyone here is super friendly. After lunch, I ordered one more to take home. Definitely check it out if you are in the area.

The sushi burritos here are amazing. Theyre really tasty and not to pricy, as far as sushi prices go at least. Great place to take your friends.
