I dont even know why this place is at cannon beach. Its awful, unlike every thing else there. We asked the hotel staff about late night eating, and the recommended a bunch of places, unfortunately all closed at 10. They finally suggested this pub, but looked a little hesitant. I went against my instinct and we trekked over there. First off, this guy (waiter) with pink hair CLEARLY saw us, gave us the one-over and walked to the back, where we heard him go to his coworker and said something. His coworker replied "arent you the bus boy" and they laughed and we continued to stand there. I mean... Come on, if its "pick your own table", just say so!! Finally after a few minutes, pink boy tells us to sit anywhere. We continue to wait for menus, where we were clearly in pink boys section but he refused to serve us. Instead the bartender took our orders. He was nice enough, but not very attentive. Food was crap. The burger was way under cooked, too greasy for my liking, and on the menu it said "served with chips". Being at the beach, you would think "chips" means fries. Like fish and chips. NOPE. They are literally Lays chips. Wtf... Overall, very unfriendly, not good food, and oh, their bathrooms? No lights. Seriously would recommend against this place. Additionally, there was an older couple there, an old man kept giving us the stink eye. It was my husband and I, quiet couple and he acted like we had personally insulted his ancestors. At one point he called pink boy waiter over and clearly said something about us, as pink boy looked over, looked like he apologized and walked away. WHAT the heck.

Act 1 "the entrance": The beginning of our experience was wanting. My wife and I walked in, stood there while the server walked by us and even said "excuse me" because we were in his way. He then passed us two more times before disappearing into the bar. After a couple minutes I finally walked over to him and asked, "so, should we seat ourselves?" To which he replied, "um, yeah!?!". I said, that would have been nice for you to have mentioned when we first walked in... Act 2 "ordering": We sat ourselves, he finally came over to take our orders, my wife asked if they had an ipa, he could have just said, "yes, it actually won an award!". Instead he chose to say, "its on the chalk board!". Which was behind our heads and at an angle impossible to see. Act 3 "the food": My prawn burger was AMAZING, INCREDIBLE, MOUTH WATERING... I would love to order it to go next time were in town. My wifes halibut burger was very good, but she said it was a little dry. Act 4 "the payment" the bill was $34 I gave him $40 cash. If he would have said anything nice, asked if we needed anything, or even said thanks for coming in... He would would have gotten a decent tip. But alas, he failed. Too bad that service can undue such potential. I was going to let him keep the change if he would have at least tried. But he gets the buck since he only brought back a five and a one... As we left though, the nice female server at least said, thanks for coming. So they get 3 starts!

Hate to go there on a "busy" summer day! My wife and I have frequented Canon Beach for over the last 20 years or so from Portland. After first entering we thought we might have found a cozy home away from home eatery. We love Cannon and several of its eateries, but cant recommend this place. We went there (late winter) when its not busy in Canon. I ordered their halibut sandwich, and she had a burger, I think. Doesnt really matter. There were two "bits" of halibut on my sandwich about the size of McDonalds chicken nuggets. Taste was mediocre - par at best. Just all around sadly disappointed. They messed up my wifes sandwich, and the waitress (suspect one of the owners) instead of taking it back and doing it correct just grabbed the inappropriate items right off the sandwich with her bare hands. Would have LOVED to see a health inspectors reaction to that! The place started getting a "little" busier after we had already ordered, but we still received poor and slow service, never had our drinks refilled, but was sure we got our cheque! We left with upset stomachs from the food, and I dont even think the bad service and food we received could be blamed on them having a bad day. It was just bad.

If you like stepping into a restaurant and feeling like youre the only party in the place then dont go here. Im not saying its bad service, just gruff, less than friendly service. The building and atmosphere was cool, its an old farmstead home and while its layout is funky it works for this small-town pub. On to the food, yes, I got the Reuben, what did you expect? The bread was perfectly toasted, the amount of sauerkraut and meat was good, the meat, while tender enough was a bit dry and the sauce was underwhelming and very light. The nachos were done right and in hindsight we probably would have been fine with them and a couple drinks. The beers vary from time to time and seem pretty tasty, they seem to be mostly micro-brews. There is a full bar so if beer or wine isnt your thing you can have them mix up whatever you like.

We were ignored by staff after told to sit wherever we liked. Finally got a beer but had to wait even longer to place our food order, despite the place not being busy. When our meals did arrive, we were so disappointed. Soup of the day was water with stuff in it. The turkey sandwich and French dip were okay but the pea salad was the worst weve ever had.. ever. Tasted rancid but supposedly was the way it was supposed to taste. Beer was good. Food mediocre. Service terrible. For the record, we live here in Cannon Beach and had put off trying Warren House for years because of the negative word of mouth reviews shared by other locals. We were hoping to find the rumors to be untrue. They werent.

I have mixed feelings about this place... I could see others at tables where being ignored so we bellied up to the bar because of this. Got service fairly quick. Prices are a little high but it is a tourist area. IF the owner reads this... Split the areas up have bar side and restaurant side with a hostess on the restaurant side or at least a sign "please seat yourself." Make the entrance sign obvious it felt like we walked in the wrong door even though it was the front door. Try to get everyone to smile. It seems like most every place else we went in Cannon beach people where happy to be working. This place not so much.

Pretty good. I dont recommend the ribs though. Id give it 5 stars for my wifes food. She ordered the baked halibut and it was absolutely delicious. I however ordered the ribs and the sauce was good but the meat was tough. Im used to baby back ribs falling off the bone but I had to cut it with a knife to separate them and even that was a chore. Like I said, their house BBQ was great and my wifes food was outstanding. The brews there are mostly local and very tasty. As someone who is a rib guy, Id recommend skipping the ribs here but anything else is good in my opinion. Id still recommend stopping in here!
