First time and last time eating here. My friend and I visit Brookings all the time and we usually eat sushi. But we wanted to try something different. This place had some excellent reviews and always smelled so good when we walked by! Boy, looks and smells are deceiving. Staff was excellent. So friendly, so nice, checked in, but service was not timely and the food is definitely not worth what you pay for it. When you pay $15 for a Reuben sandwich, you expect it to be top notch, excellent, delicious, amazing. My friend ordered the Chicken and Waffle meal which was also $15. I ordered a Peach Tea, which was $4, SO OVERPRICED for a little bottle I can buy at the store for a couple bucks cheaper. My friend ordered a beer, which as ironic as this is, was the cheapest thing on our bill. No waters were served to us. It took them about 20 minutes to even bring us our drinks. We ordered Pretzel bites for an app ($12 for 6 little pretzel balls that are not special at all, and should cost maybe $5.) and ordered our meals at the same time. The wait was SO LONG. It was unbelievable. It was about 30-40 minutes before we got our food. We got our meals before we got our appetizer. I reminded our waitress we had the pretzel bites coming out. She then later returned to us and said she forgot to put them on our bill. So she was kind enough to not charge us for them, and did bring them out. Food is good, dont get me wrong, but it is definitely not worth the price you pay. $15 for a few pieces of pastrami on a pretzel bun? Really? Oh, and I forgot to mention they charge for maple syrup which they do not mention. They asked "do you want maple syrup on the side?" For my friend who got the chicken and waffles. He said yes. Turns out its an extra dollar for a teeny tiny little cup of syrup. Why?? Why would you charge for that? And why dont you let your customers who are paying for it that its an extra charge?? Cmon guys! This place has potential, but they just need to pick it up a little bit and get it together. I wont be returning anytime soon.

If I could give this place 1000 stars I would. My husband and I just got married and are celebrating our honeymoon in town from Hawaii (he is military and Oregon is his home). We ordered quite a few drinks, and some expensive meals, chatting slightly with our waitress. She was so kind and everyone was so nice and the food was absolutely delicious! Anyway, at the end our our meal, the waitress (dont remember her name unfortunately) asked us what we were doing in town. We told her we are stationed in Hawaii and just got married and this is our honeymoon. She said that her father was military and served for 24 years so she has a soft spot for military since she doesnt see us too often. Well, she said our dinner was on them.....we paid nothing for a $70+ meal and when we tried to tip her well (like $40) she refused to take it, saying this is her treat and that she fully supports the military. That we are going to make her cry for our kindness........ Like what. Even though she gave us a free meal... Anyway. They were all amazing there. Definitely deserve more than 5 stars.

My husband and I love this place! Everything weve ordered has been superb. We found this place last year while visiting for the weekend. This time we ordered the flat iron steak which came with tiny carrots, brocolini, chard and the best mashed potatoes. It was so good we ordered it again the next night. We also got the Korean braised short ribs which came wrapped in butter lettuce with cabbage slaw and a delicious sauce. Come hungry or plan on sharing the short ribs - there are four. Our server, Jewels, took amazing care of us. She was quick to refill our drinks and make sure we had everything we needed. She also made some great dessert recommendations. Usually we dont order dessert but we ended up getting the cookie with ice cream - sounds simple right? It came served in a small cast iron skillet and the cookie was freshly baked and tasted like warm cookie dough. It was delicious. We also got Mamas chocolate salty balls - totally worth the extra calories!

We were excited about this place. I liked the fish tacos but heard the burger was greasy and tasteless. More than anything I found the service to be disorganized bordering annoying. 3 different servers came by way too many times to ask how we are doing... But when we actually needed them (they forgot to give us silverware and there was a mistake on the bill) no one was around to help. I helped myself to the silverware from another table and we just deducted the extra $5 they had charged us from the tip after waiting for awhile before giving up on the servers.

A rainy Sunday night in Brookings, we are from Newport, Oregon and have tons of good places to eat, so we are fussy. This is a GREAT place to eat! Its on the west side of Hwy in the downtown area. Our server, Jeremiah, was very pleasant, friendly and informative about the menu. I had the burger, all made from local ingredients, it was great, the home made bun was delicious too. My guy, Ron, had the fried chicken and waffle and he said it was the best piece of chicken he ever ate. Family friendly...anybody friendly...this is a great place!

Travelling on the road and stopped here for dinner. Had the burger and it was delicious, I was a little skeptical about the pork belly on the burger, but its similar to bacon and yummy. Had a blueberry cobbler to go and it was very good also. Everything is locally grown, fresh and flavorful. Would give 5 stars, but they upcharged for onion and pickles and change of bun, really. After I questioned that, they took it off my bill. Very tasty and pricey. Music too loud and rowdy for dining.

Bar none some of the best food we have ever had! Great flavor, diverse menu and friendly staff. Love that they are a farm to table restaurant, using a lot of local organic ingredients. We only stayed in Brookings for three days and went to eat there two days in a row. Also cant forget the wonderful fresh cocktails! We only live a couple hours away in Humboldt County California and we both have said we would drive up to Brookings just to eat dinner here and then go home it was that good!

SO good! I had the short rib tacos (I think thats what they were called) and I could have eaten 3 more plates of them! They were delicious! The creme brulé is super yummy and so is the pub cookie! The rest of the food looks and smells yummy too! The atmosphere is amazing and fun, customer service is great. They have several games to play while you are waiting for your food or just while hanging out with friends. I need to go back more often!!

The bar drinks are great, as well as the food, especially for a small town. The 3-star is for the abysmal wine list considering this place is trendy and psuedo upscale. They have 4 white and red varieties, and NONE from Oregon. And, those offered are mediocre at best. The local fish and chips take out place at the dock has a better selection. No excuse not to promote the great wine varieties that Oregon has to offer.
