Expected better. For a Friday night, I was surprised at the number of open tables and waiting people. We went with a fairly large party of 10; called ahead and found out the wait would be 30-45 mins. One of our party went ahead to get on the list (they dont take reservations over the phone) and we ended up waiting nearly an hour. The restaurant is attractive but very noisy due to the lack of soft surfaces to balance the hard floors, tables and vaulted ceilings. Our server was friendly, as were the majority of the staff, although they werent overly attentive and never took a drink order. One of the food orders was delivered incorrectly and we had to wait 5 mins to get the correct food. Presentation was not that great - clam chowder was plopped on the table in a small bowl without a plate underneath and the crackers were brought after the fact in a second bowl. The food was passable - burgers were thin and overcooked, too much bun with too little meat; mac & cheese had too small of amounts of tomato and spinach, and was overwhelmed with bread crumbs; fish and chips were mediocre and bland. However, the clam chowder was very good - flavorful and with lots of good pieces of clam and potato. Tri-tip BBQ sandwich was very good, flavorful but could have had a little bit more meat. Onion rings were a little better than average. Got marionberry crisp to go; very disappointing - was in no way a crisp, more of a stewed berries with a few crumbs on top. The ice cream was very good. Overall, we wouldnt return for the food - but would maybe get the chowder to go.

For such a popular restaurant, I was surprised at how bad our experience was here. Let me preface this by saying that all the staff we encountered were very nice people, and there were lots of them. Mostly bussers. Whenever a plate was finished or a piece of napkin discarded on the table, someone swooped in to pick it up. That was nice! Bonus star for the people! But niceness doesnt always lead to good customer service. Before we ordered, I asked for water with no ice. Our server returned (again, very politely) with very icy water. That by itself is no big deal and I dont complain if its one little mistake, but it just kept happening. My boyfriend asked if he could substitute the batter-dipped and fried onions on his burger for raw, and, after being asked his preference, that his burger be cooked medium. Our server said this was totally fine and then brought him a well-done burger covered in fried onions on a dry bun. So, the opposite of what he had asked for and was told would be done. When we got our check, the raw onions were added as an extra cost! It just seemed like every time we asked for anything, no one was really listening or they were just paying lip-service or just not writing everything down. The whole burger was dry and weirdly flavorless, like they didnt season the meat or put any sauces on the bun. I ordered the quinoa cakes which had great flavor but really unpleasant texture. Every bite consisted of stringy greens that were hard to chew. We wanted to like it, but it was such a disappointing experience we will not be returning.

Good beer, nice building, nice server. Had a bad experience though. Went in for lunch today and ordered a tsunami stout and a cheeseburger. The server asked if I would like my burger pink or no pink, I said NO PINK (hamburger should be cooked imo). Burger came and I took a big bite, only to see the center of the burger pink and luke warm. The server came by and asked if everything was good and I told her the burger was still pink, to which she said "oh wow, that is pink!", she asked if I wanted to have it cooked more (I just ate around the outside because I didnt have a ton of time, the server also offered a chowder if I wanted, which I declined, and thanked her for the offer. The issue I did find unpleasant was the fact she told me that her manager (as she indicated) had decided to take some money off my tab for the error.... great... but $3 off a $15 burger which was prepared quite poorly was just weird, honestly I would have felt better with a $5 gift card, or a beer token or something. A $15 burger should speak for itself, knocking $3 off of it when it was not enjoyed because of a cooking error is like saying "F you, we got our money, now piss off." Thats just how it came off. I was excited to eat here, as its right next to a large job site. I wont be back, and my coworkers have no interest in that kind of experience. Server was great, whoever made that 20% off of a under prepared entrée was not great. Just my $23

The experience we had before we were seated was awkward, everyone standing around staring at each other for an hour while they wait and drink a trendy microbrew or 2. We had to walk down the street to the convenience store for some water and a snack because we got so hungry waiting. When we got back were still waiting for quite a while (an hour or more total wait time). When we were finally seated, it was like sitting down at a rock concert. The music was booming so loud we couldnt hear each other talk without yelling. Basically the onion rings were ok and so were the french fries, but the burger was not very tasty and we had half a burger left over that stank up our entire hotel room when we opened our fridge this morning. They use frozen burger patties like McDonalds and if you say yes when they ask if you want it a little pink, expect a cooked burger thats only defrosted in the middle. The ranch was watery (cheap practice for expensive fried food!!) and the bbq sauce was strange like a concentrate. Beer was, well, beer. And they never gave us any water. $66 later for 2 people (2 burgers, 2 beers and some onion rings) we had greasy stomach aches and a headache from the music. Wont be back.

We went here with a group of 11. They were able to accommodate all of us, even though it took 5 phone calls and 2 left messages to do so (answer your phone if you want people to make reservations this way!). Other than this debacle everything was great. All of us ordered beers, and were impressed with the selection and tastiness of them all (I recommend the stout or Marzen). All of us had either fish and chips, chowder, lettuce wraps, and a bleu cheese burger. Amazing fish and chips, with delicious fries. Tarter was okay. Chowder was nothing amazing, but solid. The two people who ate the burgers said they were amazing. I dont doubt it. Service was fast, and our server, whom I dont recall his name, was some of the best service weve ever received from a place that weve never been (he was a tan, blonde, thin, younger man who referred to all of as maam or sir). We were celebrating my grandparents 50th wedding anniversary, and were complimented with a free dessert on the house which we did not expect. The Marion berry cobbler was hands down some of the best cobbler Ive had. We all agreed. Overall would recommend for sure, just figure out your reservation system and it would be perfect.
