We went here with a dog, on a Friday, around 3:30. We sat outside, as we could not sit at the bar, due to said dog. We went in and tried to order drinks @ the bar, but were told to "wait outside for our server," a process that took 15 minutes. She finally came out, and we asked to get the happy hour special price on food and beer. Her: "Oh, sorry, thats only good at the bar." Me: "Well we tried to order there, but couldnt, plus we cant come in with the dog." Her: "Yeah, sorry." Me: "Can I walk in, order at the bar, and then bring it out here?" Her: "No, you have to be seated at the bar." I found this all ridiculous. Give us the few $$$s off, its super slow, were business! Plus, we were inconvenienced due to a dog, WHICH IS IN THE NAME OF YOUR BAR! Come on down to The Lucky Labrador in Portland, OR. They have dog water dishes, and are glad that people like dogs! The food was ok, as was the beer. I try to avoid Rogue places, but thats where Im headed next time Im in Astoria.

we went to the wet dog on a friday evening. my husband ordered a cob salad and was happy with it. i on the other hand asked for the pasta with chicken and it was awful. the chicken was tough and gummy and to me it felt like it was not cooked all the way. i sent it back and received the chicken with no improvement. i sent it yet again and now i had an almost burned chicken that was still unchewable. my husband tried it as well and admitted it was not edible. although the waitress and the host were nice they did not offer to give me something else, nor did they offer to take the price of my meal off our bill. more then that - the chef or who ever was in the kitchen, made no attempt to understand what is going on and find out what am i talking about, or provide me with another chicken. i for one will not go back there and will look elsewhere for a decent meal.

I need to remember that I dont like this place. The atmosphere is nice, the servers are fine, but the food is just not prepared well. the blackened salmon is so dry its like sawdust, so was the bison burger last time I came. the salad was mediocre...too many berries, nuts, and cheese not enough salad...to where after I ate the lettuce the entire bottom of the bottle was covered in berries, nuts, and dressing. yes, next time I could have them fix that but the food is overall prepared like the nuts and bolts of the menu item just arent going to taste well so they fluff it full of garnish hoping you dont taste that they cant cook. I like a restaurant where I can taste the food (not the sauce and frills ) because it was prepared well. So no more wet dog cafe for us.

I really enjoy this brewery/pub/cafe/restaurant!! The service is really great. Loved my server who was extremely nice and gave us a history lesson on Astoria. I didnt get his name but hes been working with Astoria brewing for awhile! The patio is amazing. Beautiful views of the Colombia river. We got bloody Marys that were amazing and I tried oyster shooters for the first time and loved em! My server gave us a lesson how to take the oyster shot and it was helpful! The food was amazing, we got the beer cheese dip with the apples.. YUM! And the captains platter with an assortment of all their fried fishy friends. Great service and great food! I definitely recommend you stop here for brunch, lunch, dinner or happy hour. You will be glad you did! Cheers!

We checked in at the front desk and was told it would be a 15 to 20 minute wait. This wasnt too bad, because we not all of our group was there yet. After the whole group arrived we didnt wait very long to be seated. The our order was taken quickly, we got drinks right away, from here our service went downhill. about an hour after our order was taken our food finally arrived. Im not sure what was happening in the kitchen, but this was very sad service. We had two small children and who were very hungry, then an item was forgotten when our food was served and we had to remind the waitress to bring it to us. I dont think I will be visiting this location again.

I enjoy this place every time I visit Astoria. I enjoy the seafood and beers on tap as well as the friendly and helpful staff. We sit at the bar usually and the bartenders are great with cocktails and very friendly. The last time we visited here they had just been hit with a cruise ship crowd that set back there kitchen and orders for about an hour when we arrived so we just sat and enjoyed beers until they were ready and they handled the rush very well.I have had the calamari, oyster shooters, salmon wrap and everything Ive ordered has been tasty. They are a little spendy though.

The atmosphere and the placement of this cafe is spectacular for a family or just about anybody. The kids enjoy watching the boats on the water as much as we do, and if its a really warm day they open all the windows and you feel like your outside. The food is great and we love the beer. Theres something for everybody and always something different to try since they have a lot of seasonals. Theres also some terrific stand-bys if your not in an adventurous mood. I dont think Ive ever had the same meal twice and still leave with a full belly and a smile.

The host and waitress were phenomenal checking in quite often and being honest about recommendations. Beer was great too just like the food. Quantity for price leaves a bit to be desired with food, quality is great however. Their "Best Damn Dessert" is truly worth the name. Location is great as a trolley occasionally trundles by and you can easily see out into the river and watch the ships. The only caveat is to be there before or long after the cruise ship crowds are there.

Living and sharing the Pacific Northwest is a treasured gift we love to share with locals and visitors alike. Along our mighty Columbia River with all its charm and history is a town called Astoria, Astoria, Oregon, wherein lies a hidden delight. A place for families, a place for two sharing the bounties of the northwest is The Wet Dog Cafe. Visit once make a memory, visit twice become family. Thank you, indeed! We live just across the river and we go to the Wet Dog every chance we get. The food is excellent! They have a great menu and the quality cant be faulted. I usually have something small like a cup of chowder or an appetizer so I can have the brownie sundae, which is made with a fresh, homemade brownie. Watching the boat traffic and the river wildlife makes for a nice dining experience. We recommend this place to anyone who asks for input on a good dining spot.

Its been a tradition for 3 years now to swing by this place after running Hood 2 Coast. Each year they have been fantastic! Its a nice looking restaurant with good seating options with views. Good selection of brews. Great food! I get the Fish and Chips combo almost every time, so delicious. I do recall someone getting something that looked dinky, but still good. Service has been friendly and fast as well. I was bummed to see the lackluster reviews.
