Edit: the manager contacted me directly and sent a gift card to come try the restaurant again. This showed me that they do care about their customers and food. I will gladly come back and try it again. Its always nice to see when management personally reaches out to make a situation right. Very pleased in this aspect. Will updated review once Im back. ------ Ive been here once before, and my partner had been many times and we have both enjoyed it. This time though, was quite a shock. We both ordered fish and chips for lunch, as we have both had them before here and looked forward to them all day. When we got the fish, both portions were sitting in a small pile of water. To the point we nicknamed it fish soup. It made it pretty clear the fish was frozen beforehand, and if it wasnt, then there was some other serious issue. Paying $16 for a lunch of fish and chips, we expected fresh fish, especially being right there on the coast. Because of the water, the fish was also soggy and nowhere near crispy like it should. To the point I couldnt pick it up and had to use a fork. The fish pieces I received didnt even have the fry batter on the bottom. That, or it had dissolved away in the water. Not to mention, the pieces of fish were so small, like chicken nuggets but with fish. The one redeeming quality is that our waitress was very nice. Also, the pie dessert we ordered was good. Im just disappointed with this experience. Not sure if the kitchen changed their way of frying the fish, or if we just had a bad day for it. Either way, we feel like we overpaid for a very lack luster entree. I dont think Ill be back anytime soon.

All start with the good, excellent wait staff, prompt on a busy Friday night . From host, waitress, to bus boy, great service. Now the bad, the food was super poor quality. I get it, if your the only restaurant open in area for late nights, you can charge whatever you want....but a $20 salad with 90 percent iceberg lettuce and flavorless crab meat! Come on, thats a slap in the face. The vegetables were out of a bag, and so was the shredded mozzarella that filled over half a Mediterranean pita sandwich. This pita thing was so bad , could not even eat it after 2 bites. I was surprised the veggie burger was pretty descent. And if your trying to get away from the kids, dont go here, tons of families with small children disturbing your meal. Had a couple next to me , allow their child to repeatedly throw toys under our table and the kid sneezed all over our table and food at least 3 times, parents did nothing (I have kids btw) I was so grossed out I changed my seat and was 2 seconds away from asking the waitress to switch out table.

Not a bad meal, but not greatest. If youre in cannon beach and need somewhere to eat quick, this little place isnt bad. The food is above average, but overpriced for what it is. The clam chowder isnt bad at all, better than disgusting Moes watery chowder everyone claims is the best. The fish and chips were expensive, but good, I wish it was little cheaper than 16$ for 3 pieces....The place wasnt bad, the food came very quick. The waiter did clear up are plates up fast, wish they were faster in the water fill up, but overall 3/5, I would recommend if you want something quick, the reason is loses stars is because the price was little outrageous for their food, and the place was little crowded and compact. I felt like people were brown nosing into our conversation more than they should, but I would recommend for quick eat, but not taste and price. Service 4/5 Food 3/5 Place/location 4/5 Comfort 3/5 Price 2/5 Food choice 2/5 Overall 3/5

The food and atmosphere are fabulous. I ordered the Sunday special, prime rib, rare and made sure the server knew I meant rare. She went proactive and asked if the chef did not have rare prime rib what alternate selection would I be making. I chose the fillet. I ended up receiving the fillet and asparagus. The salad prior to the meal was large and very fresh ingredients. My steak was cooked a tiny bit more than I would have preferred but it was an excellent cut of meat. It was quite tender and had excellent flavor. The asparagus was perfectly prepared and still crisp. We went all out and ordered dessert. I had a Tillamook vanilla ice cream the server made into a butterscotch sundae that was decadent. We also enjoyed our server who had a quick wit and took excellent care of us without being intrusive. We will definitely eat here again when in the area.

This place is amazing. My wife and I went there while visiting cannon beach for the first time. Its right downtown. It looks like a nice restaurant on first look and the hotel we stayed at recommended it. First of all, its expensive. But not ridiculous. If you want fresh seafood you have to pay a little extra. But it was totally worth it. And the portions we large. We got the crab dip as an appetizer, amazing. My wife got the crab casserole. It was basically just crab with cheese. It was $27 but it was certainly worth it. It had a ton of crab and there were large chunks. A lot more than red lobster or some crap like that. I got the fish and chips. By far the best Ive ever had. The tatar sauce was also amazing. I dont leave reviews often. But this place was worth my time. I highly recommend it.

We stopped in here for our seventh wedding anniversary. We shared dessert here ten years ago after getting engaged on the beach. Ten years later its only improved. I ordered the ribeye steak, I ordered it medium since Im pregnant. It was perfect, tender, flavorful, perfectly seasoned, I could fully taste the steak not the seasoning. The fresh asparagus was lightly cooked, it was so good! My husband and I traded a few bites, he is super picky about steak but really enjoyed it. My husband ordered crab casserole, it was amazing!!! Im so glad he ordered it, hes even happier than me, it was that good. Avery generous portion of crab, topped with a delightful cheese sauce, they know what theyre doing! We would eat here again and again. We DEFINITELY recommend it!

Stopped there on a BUSY Friday at lunchtime....everyone from Portland was in town (like me) to escape the city heat. Really wanted a place on the deck, so had to wait a few minutes. Staff members, even though slammed with the crowds, were all patient and explained the process to get "deck time". Their predictions re wait time were accurate, and I enjoyed a nice lunch, joined mid-meal by fellow Portlanders who had been shopping while I ordered. Staff just added a couple of chairs to my table, no problem. Food is fine and reasonably priced, nothing exceptional. The place has been there for over 70 years....which in this day and age is an accomplishment in itself. Enjoy!

We were looking for a place to watch the game...bartender at the Pelican suggested this place, couldnt be happier. Great, and I mean great, clam chowder. My hubs had the BLT with turkey and it was amazing. I have a severe citrus allergy and they were more than accommodating. Most places just gloss over and do the bare minimum. This waiter, Nick took the next step and salted my glass with water instead. I cant tell you how many times Ive had citrus garnish on my plate after stating my allergy. This place pays attention and makes you think youre the only ones there. Service was stellar. Highly recommended. We will return.
