The location of Local in relation to the shopping in Cannon Beach is fantastic and the carpentry of the interior is phenomenal. Other than that, I cannot recommend this joint. We went for breakfast and left experiencing the worst food we had eaten in years. She had the short stack pancakes. Underdone. Barely any color showing that it had touched a warm, if even a hot, pan. One inch in and you were eating dough. The syrup was warm on one half of the plate and cold on the other side. The butter was ice cold. Coffee? Never offered. Any "I noticed you didnt even eat any of your food; was it not to your liking"? Nope. He had a Wild Mushroom omelette with Swiss cheese. The mushrooms were fresh and tasty but the rest was a lesson in what an omelette is not. Omelette itself was griddle cooked, meaning it came out paper thin. It came in a color that can best described as palor-yellow and the flavor more resembled an egg-mix rather than fresh egg. The Swiss cheese? A thin slice laying on top rather than shredded or layered inside the omelette. It must have been an afterthought as it was not melted. It slid right off on every attemtpt to cut through the omelette. Luke warm, as well. Home fries? According to who? A touch of paprika on slightly undercooked, unsalted and unseasoned potatoes is not a home fry. I avoided the toast although it looked tasty. Why? How about watching the server butter it without gloves after he wiped his nose with the back of his hand? Server was unfriendly in a bored, its-too-early kind-of-way. We saw two other employees, neither of which carried a smile. All three had a lack of physical professionalism about them (rumpled and stained shirts, unshaven, and a just-woke-up look) We shouldve noticed something was wrong when at 9 AM on a Saturday morning we were the only diners in the restaurant.

Went here for lunch with my wife and toddler. The food was good, but the service was terrible. Our waitress didnt ask if we wanted a childrens menu, didnt give us silverware for food that needed it, and then at the end of the meal skipped over us to keep going back to a table that hadnt ordered (she passed us six times without asking if we needed a box or wanted desert). During our meal, she paid more attention to her dog that was walking around the outside of the restaurant, than to her customers. We wanted to have desert here, but skipped out after waiting for boxes and to be cashed out (at which point my wife and son had left). While there, we noticed another waitress have to step in to take an order for our waitress. It seemed like the serving staff were all trying to poach one another for tips. My wife noticed another waitress sit a couple in a sunny table instead of a table in shade outside -- when asked for a table in the shade, the waitress said that most people sat in the sun and liked it -- when we saw five couples ask for shade. I wont be going back, and I dont recommend that you go, either. The dogs get better service than you will.

We ate breakfest here on Aug 10, 2010. Terrible, slow service. They sat us down and did not offer us coffee for 10 min. Waiter got our order wrong and then argued with us that we ordered wrong. He then rolled his eyes like a 12 yr old.Our waiter also had an open wound on his elbow that was not covered, When was the last time this place was inspected by the health dept.? All the help looked miserable-- no one smiled, just a bad vibe in this resturaunt. When I went to pay, the hostess took my card and then proceeded to primp herself in the mirror before cashing me out. Poor service, Average food. Proprieters need to train their staff on what service is all about.Waiter #006, Pablo--cover your bloody wounds, no one wants scabs in their food. And stop rolling your eyes like a junior high kid. Management- Get a clue! Terrable service.Teach your staff some manners.

DONT EAT THERE!! I promise youll regret it. My father and I went there for lunch. The waiter didnt offer any water for ten minutes. I finally decide to ask if we could just get a pitcher - BAD IDEA! Half way through my glass THERES A BUG! Not some tiny little fly but a full on creepy crawler!! I was drinking freaking bug juice!! Besides having bugs in their water, the food honestly was awful. Unless you like crapy food and insects in your drinks, DO NOT EAT THERE!!! Id recommend the Lumberyard in the same town. Much better at the lumberyard

By far the WORST service I have ever had. There was nobody else in the restaurant (now I know why) yet the wait staff could not greet us, seat us, or answer questions about the menu without major attitude. The servers didnt acknowledge us when we walked in, yet were quick to scold us for seating ourselves. Our server was behind the counter on his cell phone most of the time. We felt like it was a hassle for the staff to wait on us. As for the food, it was overpriced and mediocre.

This place was a tasty spot to eat. I didnt read the other reviews so I havent a clue why it had only three stars when I reviewed it. We had a burger and some fries. The burger was really good, it was a little more natural tasting (no grease) than something you would get somewhere else. The place was more expensive and Im not saying its worth the price but the cost seemed to many the location much less chaotic to get lunch. Its a sit-down place with a decent amount of options.

I think, like any restaurant, the other reviewers here just had some bad servers mad it is not a standard for the place. My family has been to this restaurant many times, at least once per trip to Canon Beach. The only complaint I have ever had with the place is only recently with their potatoes not quite fully cooked, but other than that, the atmosphere and the service is great. Always worth going for us.

Went here for breakfast even though reviews werent great. So glad we did. Yes, it was on the expensive side but there was a big crowd of people waiting to get into the highly-rated place a couple doors down. This place wasnt crowded, was bright/sunny, the service was great, and the food was great. They even have mimosas. Was worth paying a little more to have a relaxing breakfast.

Lovely omelets. Tasty and attractive. Appealing warm ambience. Service friendly, fast and personal. Nice main street location. We ate on a quiet weekday and thoroughly enjoyed breakfast. A cautionary note. ... almost every Cannon Beach restaurant has a jekyll and Hyde quality. .... changing dramatically with crowd density. Weekends are difficult!

Well I cant speak to the quality of the food, since my wife and I never so much received a glass of water. After waiting patiently for 20 minutes on the outside patio, which only holds approximately 6-7 tables, my wife and I left and ate elsewhere. Calling it service would be a compliment, the employees are terrible.

Good location and seating area. Im not sure how to rate this as prices are high and quality of food was below average. You go there for outdoor seating. Fish was overcooked/soft and no salt was used (healthy or they forgot?) No flavor. Good service. "Friendly" staff and high prices typical of tourist trap locations.
