Stopped by Mayan Fusion during a recent trip to Mendocino, and was thoroughly impressed by both the food and the service! We came right at the end of lunch service, and things were relatively quiet. Our server noticed us looking at pictures of menu items on our phones, and let us know that some of the items we saw might be only on the dinner menu, but that the cook would be happy to still make them for us. The food was great, with the Chocolate Molten Lava Cake being a special standout! Youve GOT to order it if you come; its really even better than it looks, and it looks delicious. The food, service, and convenient location right at the border of Fort Bragg make Mayan Fusion an easy recommendation!

I first ate here when they opened down by the water. The Chef and owner gave my sister, daughter, and I an amazing dining experience. Now, coming back 1.5 years later with my husband I was so excited to share this place with him. We were seated quickly but couldnt get a waitress to even acknowledge our presence for 15 minutes. I get it that you are busy but at least take 2 seconds to say that so we know you see us. Then the Calamari was overdone and tasteless. The rock cod, that Id been dreaming of eating again was still pretty good but the rice and vegetables were overdone and mushy. Finally, we wanted the spicy chocolate ice cream and they were out. They say you can never go back, so true!

Delicious!! A solid referral from a local Fort Bragg resident. When you go, and you should definitely go, have the Manhattan Mayan clam chowder- different from any clam chowder youve had. And the Mayan cioppino which is also nothing like any cioppino youve had- a fusion of an Italian idea with Mayan spices. Mmmmmm... So delicious. We also liked the Mayan corn, the steak kabobs and the fish tacos, all delish. Top it off with the Mayan spice chocolate ice cream and you cant go wrong. Ps. Ask what desserts they have that are not on the menu. :). The staff were great and the owner is a great man that came and visited our table and shared his story. Wonderful family owner and run restaurant.

Great experience, for one we showed up 30 mins before closing, and they still let us enjoy ourselves no rushing us out and we were the last two customers of the night! The service was great never an empty drink, great sense of humor! We felt right at home in this little family restaurant! As for the food, TO DIE FOR! The Mayan twist on the food was delicious, great flavor, quick service, we even ordered lunch to eat at our hotel the next day! I highly recommend the calamari! The clam chowder was so good. All around a wonderful experience. cant wait to come back to Fort Bragg to eat at this restaurant!

The food we got was good, like 4 stars or so. The service is bad. 1 star service simply because one waitress is all they had running the restaurant. No hostess, no busser on a Saturday afternoon? We came in and seven other people were there. Then all of sudden twenty people were there. She forgot half our food which is not surprising because she tried to memorize our order. No refills on small drinks. We waited way too long and we were there with a baby. We left hungry and thirsty and still left a little tip out of charity. Overall two stars. Get it together on service!

We ate hear on Mother’s Day after reading the high praise on Yelp and Google reviews. We were disappointed. My wife and I ordered the fish tacos. The entire plate was could. I wanted to ask the waiter if the beans and rice were cold because of the fish but she was nowhere to be found. Another patron sat down and waited about ten minutes. When she wasn’t acknowledged she got up and walked out. Only when we received the check did the waiter as us if everything was OK and she wished my wife a happy mother’s day.

Visited on vacation with my family, who wholeheartedly agree that this was the best meal of our trip! This isnt just feeding people; its art. The chef, whom our waiter told us grew up with the sorts of food served here, clearly puts great effort into making every dish a fine dining experience. The atmosphere was lively and our waiter was engaged and vivacious. We were absolutely thrilled with this restaurant, and certainly hope to visit again in the future.

Came here for dinner and the food was delicious. We ordered the mayan salad, clam chowder , clams appetizer and for entrees, the grilled halibut and the cioppini. Chocolate lava cake for dessert. Everything our waitress brought out was better than the previous. Our starters were amazing and each dish just got even better from there. The clams appetizer was probably one of the best ive had. This place is definitely a five star restaurant and I will be back.

Food is nice and fancy but service for us was crap, we enjoyed the mayan themed food but had to wait for service. Never checked up on once and paid and left, no tip you already know and so do the ladies working who serve only the higher class folk like those who came well after us. You 2 can do better ladies and be genuine. Oh well. 2 STARS for food only. Hats off to their chef. Make more money and work in the Bay.

Dont be mistaken by the very simple decorations. The menu and selections are superb!! Very friendly with attentive service. I didnt know much about Mayan recipes and Tapas. They walked me through it and my meal was wonderful. It was recommended by the operator of the motel we stayed at, (Shoreline Cottages, Paul), and he was spot on. Well be back for sure. PS, ask for the Halibut!

The interior was plain but clean, like a respectable diner, and the location is kind of seedy on the exterior, but the food was totally worth that minor issue. Flavor and presentation were both far better than expected. Went on a trip up the coast for a week, and this was the best thing I ate the whole time. Our server was exceptionally friendly and charming as well.

It *is* pricey for every day eating, but food great & excellent service. We are just visiting, so we budget more for eating out. Fort Bragg is an affordable area to visit, but lacks good restaurants. We were glad we tried Mayan Fusion. We are at the ocean & want Seafood! I was really tempted by the tamales but got the rock cod & my husband, the halibut.

Outstandingly different food and really fine service. The menu is huge, making it hard to limit yourself to just a couple of choices. If you prefer standard Mexican fare, you can find it, but theres a richer focus on options to challenge your restaurant Spanish and delight your appetite for new takes on seafood, meat, squash, and the rest.

I had the green enchiladas. They were basically cheese quesadillas with chicken and green sauce on top. The chips and salsa were only ok, and I wouldnt get the guacamole again. I felt it was a bit pricey but the chef came out to greet us and asked how our food was. That was nice. Id probably try it again.
