Good atmosphere and great view of the ocean. Service was poor. Our hostess asked if we wanted some water as we were seated. 10 minutes later our server took our order and we again asked for water. About 5 minutes later, a woman walked up to our table and asked if we wanted menus, someone different than the hostess, possibly the owner. We asked for water and she quickly brought us some water. We then received our food about 10 mins later from that same woman. My wife did not receive her soup and salad and we told her when she asked if we needed anything else. She said quickly brought us the salad and the soup a short while later. The salad had anchovies on it even though the server said it was just in the dressing. The kids pasta with cheese sauce was bland and cost $10 each. Fish tacos were ok, not bad, but not near good enough to cost $19. Too expensive for how poor the service was and for the mediocre food.

My wife, daughter, and I ate at the Flow on July 5 for lunch. My wifes breakfast was good (she asked for the veggie omelet to be prepared as a scramble instead), mine was decent (two eggs), but my daughters burrito was inedible, truly. The rice was undercooked, the supposedly "pulled pork" was some kind of chopped chunky extra-fatty undercooked mystery meat. It was the special of the day to boot! We had to remind the staff a couple of times to bring us an iced tea although the place was not busy. The food was way overpriced, even though we know that part of the charge is the view. We will not return. I honestly think that a few bites from my daughters burrito made me ill. - Also, the waitress did not bat an eye when we sent practically the whole burrito back untouched. Usually, good wait staff will ask if there was a problem and if they can make it right. Tourist trap.

So first of all, all the reviews about slow and bad service are true (we should have read them before ordering). We ordered starters and fish & chips. After 40 min of waiting the starters arrived and waitress told us that they do not have any fish left so if wed like to order something else!!! After 40 min of waiting we were nit excited to wait another 40 min so that maybe some food might arrive. In 5 minutes we have eaten the starters and were ready to pay, of course no one bothered to come so we came to cashier in person, where they invoiced us all the food and drinks that never arrived!! We were so angry that we left 0% tip and left. Now we are at Mendocino hotel restaurant - much better food, much better prices, much faster service and we feel like in heaven! I am givong Flow 2 stars only because the starters were tasty otherwise I would given them 0 stars

I do not recommend this restaurant. Why is that: 1) Service really sucks: we had to wait 45 minutes to get seated instead of promised “maximum 20”, then we waited for somebody to come and take care of us another 25 minutes, and the restaurant was not packed at that time at all. Other than that, waiter forgot to bring us main dish, one of 8 we ordered. If you’re alone or couple you might be more lucky getting better service, but they seem do not care about group of 6 people as 18% tips already included in your bill. 2) I would say food is below average. However if you decided to go there I would recommend to take Fish & Chips and Clam Chowder soup. 3) Restaurant is bad for little kids: no paper no crayons provided, and so called “kids menu” is no different from adult menu: same food to offer for the same prices.

We were staying close and decided to eat here because of the unique location accessible through an old water tower. It also had great view of the bay. We ordered a tortellini which was the special and found out it was only a small plate so ordered another one. It was enough for us as we werent very hungry. It tasted fine, if a little on the bland side. There was some kind of drama going on with our waitress because she disappeared never to be seen again after she gave us the menu. The guy that replaced her was friendly and his service was good but the food was very slow coming. Since the food came to us hot, it had to be the kitchen that was sluggish. The place was lively and many late diners came in after we did. All in all average because of the slow kitchen.

The service by the waiters is bad, they cant seem to bring a single beverage out, and basically ignore a table even when you try to flag them down to pay the bill, the prices are extrme for what you get, I had a: $35 steak with potatoes (instant type from a box), 2 shrimp chard with no flavor left, and cooked vegetables( i will give them a Star here it wasnt just squash). I was with a group of 7 and we all got the same lvl of service, i can not say how their meals where. I will say the 2 hostess girls that where there and i believe the youngest male waiter/(maybe busboy?) Where the most helpful and effective staff that this place seems to have. They may wish to change out the rest. And lower the prices your not in that rich an area!

The lunch salad was really tasty. The Pesto Pasta bowl was OK. However, the service sucks out loud. Over an hour and half to order, eat, and pay, for a salad and a bowl of pasta. AND thats with going to the bar to ask for another wine, ask for the food, and finally going to the bar to ask for the check to get the hell out of their. Heres an example: we finally get the food, there are no "home made" croutons on the Caesar salad. No one came around to check on "hows the food?" I ate half the thing before going to the bar (again) to ask for the croutons. Each time I went to the bar area employees were standing around taking. On the way out even the cook was sitting at the bar. The kitchen was probably closed by then.

Bad food, bad service, over priced. Hostess needs to get a personality and a smile. When greeted a smile is usually iswhat i expect when enteringa restaurant. Got sat at a table for 1 for the 2 of us then nothing for about 5 minites. Then asked if we would like something to drink and bread for the table said yes to both received nothing until waiter finally came. Proceeded to order appitizers (crabcakes) which were soggy and were not edible. Food comes and was flavorless and odd choices for dipping sauces. Finally when we were ready to leave we had to just take our check to the hostess whom was so pleasant when we showed up... over all fail ... good luck if you decide to give it a try.

We stopped in for a late lunch while in Mendocino last weekend. The views were amazing and the food was pretty tasty, too! We were a party of 7 so I cant remember everything we had but I can tell you everything was delicious. I had the avocado bacon Benedict on a housemate biscuit with polenta cakes on the side and it was fantastic. My dad had the steak kabobs and they were and they were so flavorful. Mom and the kiddo had fish and chips and it was huge! The fish was moist and flaky. There were a couple of different soups and salads, too. I cant remember specifics other than they were surprisingly tasty. I would definitely return on our next trio to Mendocino.
