We absolutely love this place and have never had anything bad there up until Christmas that is why I gave the 4 stars. There is a however though. We ordered 2 pies for Christmas since I had broken my ankle and could not be on my feet to bake. One apple and one pumpkin. I honestly cant recommend their pies based on what we had and the price we paid....we were so disappointed. The crust was super heavy, thick and tough on both pies and the pumpkin didnt even taste like pumpkin. When we returned the tin back for the apple pie we told them about it and they didnt even seem to care at all that we were not happy. That being said......we ordered a cake for a graduation that was to die for, and all other pastries and breads are so good. Not the pies though.....never again on those.

After purchasing our meal, they said theyd bring everything right out, so we took a seat. After a long wait, they brought out one single item, and when we asked where everything else was, they said they had sold it all by mistake and those items were now out of stock. The orange juice was mediocre from-concentrate, there was a big hair on the peanut cookie in the display case, and I did not enjoy the Torta pulled pork sandwich. Im easy to please but it had a strange combination of flavors (cloves?) that I didnt care for. Maybe they were overwhelmed on a busy memorial day weekend, but we were really frustrated to wait in a long line and then have them sell our order to other customers.

Sweet teeth, look to the ocean roll. Savory kids, go with the bacon, egg, arugula, pesto croissant. The other menu items are a liiiiittle meh comparatively, but still delicious if youre dead set on one of em. Foot traffic here can get really extreme, especially later in the day as they close pretty early. Sparrow, early bird etc (no apologies). Redeeming its sometimes insane line times is the hands breadth distance to some really great local artist shops where you can whittle away some time and money while the queue lessens. Ive only ever eaten outside here because its just lovely. Great location all around.

Dear god, this place is AMAZING! Go here! You wont regret it. Cute as all get out in its design, from the facade to the outdoor tables to the simple and elegant menu. All of it. And lets talk about the food: SENSATIONAL! The ocean roll speaks for itself. If youre in Bend and you havent heard of the ocean roll, youre not paying attention. Its subtly sweet, light and airy, and it melts in your mouth. Perhaps even better than that is the non-bacon breakfast sandoh. one of the best brunches Ive ever had! the poached egg was perfect and the arugula aioli is to die for.

I got a lemon tart topped with meringue, ocean roll, and french macroon. The ocean roll was fine, nothing too exciting. The macroon was just sweet, it had no other flavor. The lemon tart was inedible. The custard was grainy at best and the meringue was so grainy it felt like eating tiny shards of glass. I could only take two bites before it went in the trash. Sparrow should narrow their menu and leave the more technically challenging desserts to better bakeries. The sandwiches and quiche looked good, but the wait was 45 minutes (on the weekend) so I skipped those.

The Ocean Roll is enough to make a short wait inline worth it, but the amazing breakfast sandwiches and equally excellent quality coffee make it irresistible. Seating is available, but limited, inside, but its hard to resist the quaint and whimsical outdoor courtyard or extra seating inside the artist Workhouse across the way to enjoy your Sparrow fare. Beautiful loaves of bread look outstanding for take homes. You might even want to try their homemade granola. This will be a must-do on our visits to Bend.

Twice baked croissant, half-baked service. After having a delicious almond croissant on one visit I experienced one that seemed over done to me, unable to cut it or pull it apart. My visit to the counter was met by two employees who said "really?!", then one of them felt the croissant and determined that it was suppose to be this way because they are twice baked. I wasnt asked if Id like something else or offered a refund. You cant treat your customers like this and expect then to return, so I wont.

Sparrow Bakery is located conveniently for all the neighbors in Northwest Crossing. Whether it is a mid morning coffee break, a pleasant lunch or a great place to meet friends there is always something tasty available in the bakery case. They also have a nice made-to -order menu that includes my favorite Monte Cristo sandwich. A full coffee and drink menu is also available. The decor is very pleasant with lots of windows. Outdoor seating is available. Plenty of offstreet parking.

Good food and great coffee. I had a bacon and egg sandwich that was surprisingly off a little bit. They seemed to "candy" the bacon which made it really sweet. That is ok if that is what you like, but that information should be in the food description. I didnt think that it worked well in the sandwich. The sandwiches seem pricey, but they are larger than normal. Just a few interior seats, so it can get crowded quickly if it is too cold to sit outside.

We travel to Bend two to three times a year. Weve eaten here and it was great but our MUST have item here are the Ocean rolls. I know, sounds cliche but they are that good. We went early yesterday and bought three for the day (and two for friends whove never had them). Then we went again this morning and bought four more for home. Texted our friends and they had their rolls this morning with coffee. Saidntheyre "to die for". Yeah. Theyre good.

Awesome little bakery. I went there today to buy some Ocean Rolls (which are delicious by the way) but didnt realize they closed at 2:00. We got there at 2:20, the door was locked but the window was open. So I asked if they had any Ocean Rolls left and if I could buy any... The nice girl let me in and not only sold me 2 Ocean Rolls but also through an extra one in for us! Great pastries and service!

Whats the reason to go to an off-the-path, REALLY tiny, crowded, longer than normal wait than a coffee shop? TOTALLY worth it! Try the vanilla bean latte, no whip cream here folks just pure java bliss. Grab an ocean roll, a handful of napkins and enjoy outside in the courtyard. Sammys are delish, as are the tarts and treats! Pick up a bag of homemade granola, yummmmm. ;)

You must try the Ocean Roll. A flaky pastry with sugar and cardamom swirled in. Pair it with a Cardamom latte. The poached egg, avocado breakfast sandwich on croissant is delish. Adorable atmosphere. The outdoor seating area is picturesque and very photo worthy. Plus its situated within a small area with local artisans so you can shop while you wait!

The best bakery Ive ever been to (even French bakeries). I go back anytime Im in Bend. Everything is top notch quality, its so hard to choose (though the ocean roll is a must). Coffee drinks are also excellent. I like the vibe of their original location on Scott St, though space is Limited and lines can get long on the weekends.
