It kills me to be writing this because we love the food here, and in the past weve always had friendly experiences with the employees -- once we get past the awkward topic of whether or not well be welcome to eat there, that is. I have never experienced an eatery that becomes so standoffish and resistant to customers in the final hour that its open. Both my wife and I work full time jobs, which often means, if were eating out, its later in the evening. Im extremely cautious and self-conscious about not imposing on an eaterys employees if its close to closing time. I will shape my order to what cooks fastest and what is the easiest for them to put together. Usually, Im met with accommodating smiles and understanding -- I put an effort into making their jobs easier and they put an effort into making the most of my visit, and we find a happy compromise somewhere in the middle. This holds true for every restaurant, diner, ice cream shop, and fast food eatery I have *ever* been to. What also holds true is that they dont turn you away until its closing time. Fresh Grills posted hours have them closing at 9pm, but the truth is, at 8pm, the employees have already checked out for the night. Theyve begun wiping down the restaurant and putting chairs on tables -- which is common of lots of places, and I dont begrudge them that -- but if you walk through the door or, god forbid, call to place a pick-up order, youre met with hesitance, annoyance, or as was the case tonight, dead silence, from the employees. I have encountered a LOT of employees at this place, and I get the same response from all of them, as if theyve been trained to scare away customers after 8pm. Why post your closing time as 9pm if youre not willing to serve customers until 9? What is gained by misleading customers about what to expect? If youre forcing your employees to be out the door at 9 on the dot, you should be closing earlier -- its not as if youll lose any business; their behavior discourages customers anyway. It also wouldnt hurt to post somewhere on your website that phone orders over $25 have to be paid for over the phone -- unless of course thats another "deterring customers after 8pm" tactic. Either way, well be very hesitant to eat at Fresh Grill again. I dont particularly feel like giving business to a place that so consistently and unapologetically makes its customers feel unwelcome.

I had been a customer for a year and a half coming in every single Friday, and all of a sudden my order was $5 more than its ever been. Apparently they changed their already expensive menu to be even more insanely expensive if thats possible. They charged me 35 cents per sauce, which okay I understand, but they are super rude about it. 3 of our 7 employees go over every weekend and they have been extremely rude to all of us. They make you purchase fries now with every meal, and they also say "our tablespoon side of ranch should be more than enough for your salad! You can buy more". Not a fan of the obnoxious price increase and forcing people to buy stuff to get an entree. They are wasting food, and charging 15 for a salad that you can get at Portland city grill for the same price. And the last 3 times Ive gone in and ordered sauces ( and paid extra for all of them ) - they messed up every single time. They lost my business and now Id rather do the 2 mile drive on lunch and be inconvenienced than walk a block over and have them overcharge me and mess up my expensive order. And plus - have you seen how the owner responds to reviews??????? This "small owned business" wont be in business much longer Im sure. Ive run multiple restaurants and no successful business talks to customers like that. She actually said "If you would like to run our business and pay our taxes, be my guest". I think the owner needs help if she actually thinks responding to guests like that will get her more business.

We needed to grab something to eat while visiting family in Beaverton and found Fresh Grill not too far away. Reviews looked promising and we didnt have time to do a lot of searching and driving around. The exterior is what you would expect from a strip mall burger joint, the interior is spacious and clean. Prices here are a bit more than I think they should charge for quick serve burgers, but the food is so good! My wife got a cheese burger and I got a special pulled pork sandwich. I asked for hot peppers on the side and add the optional cole slaw. I got cole slaw on the side and hot peppers inside... easily fixable and not worth making a stink about (and I was in a hurry), but it was still annoying that they didnt pay enough attention to get the order right. I was also surprised that they asked how my wife wanted her burger cooked. We usually order beef medium-rare, but Id say youre best at Fresh Grill to ask for medium. It looked a little more pink than were comfortable with, but we survived. Both of our sandwiches fell apart and had to be finished with a fork. But even with all of those set backs, the flavors were excellent and the ingredients seemed fresh to me. When in Beaverton again Id go back if I needed a quick bite and didnt mind spending a few dollars more.

We had a terrible experience here. I dont know what has changed in the 8 months since weve been here but we were terribly disappointed at our visit. The fries tasted different, the ketchup tasted off. I tried the French dip and the meat did not taste good. My husband got the same thing he always gets, the chicken strip sandwich, and they put two little pieces on the edges to make it look full but there was really only half a sandwich worth of strips. The music playing was terrible, angry and inappropriate for a family setting. There were at least two employees goofing of in a booth near us braiding somebodys hair and being annoying. Terrible experience at a place we used to love.

The burgers are the best in the area coming from a burger connasuir! The odds standbys such as Five Guys and Dickey Joes are good but this place stands far above! Not only are the burgers better with more choices, but the service is hands down the best. This is due to Claire and her fantastic ability to help and serve. I have 3 boys and they are like hearding cats at times. Not only did she serve us at the counter well but she was genuinely concerned after you helping us with the huge variety of hot sauces and condiments that were available. Thanks again Claire! You made me a true believer in Fresh Grill. I will bring my family back again and again!

This was our first time here. I wanted a good, fresh tasting burger. Unfortunately I found my cheeseburger was bland. The meat when tasted separate off the bun was good, but as a whole it wasnt the best. There is a kids menu with lots of variety, one kid ordered the corn dog and the other chose the popcorn shrimp. The corn dog tasted like any other. They both enjoyed the shrimp meal but hardly touched the corndog. Their string fries are pretty good. There is also a freestyle soda machine so lots a beverage options available. Im not sure if well return, maybe if my husband wants to try it.
