My kids love this place! They are 3 and 5 and they get so excited when I say "Who wants Black Bear?"! They have very generous portions of American comfort food and breakfast is served all day. I had the Fish and Chips with their scratch made tartar sauce and started off with a salad with a side of Caesar and scratch made Thousand Island. The salad was fresh and crisp and the dressings were very tasty. The Fish and Chips was quite good as well. Came out hot and crispy and has beer battering which I prefer. The kitschy campy decor is cute and fun, it was very clean, and for a nice casual and comfortable dinner its a fun experience. The service was very good as well which I really appreciated, our waitress was so nice. My children enjoy their kids menu and coloring crayons. I like that they have plenty of choices for kiddos and they have cute little cups with lids. Black Bear Diner is a wonderful family-friendly place for a yummy relaxed meal with cute bears and great service.

I just tried to put in a togo order. I am related to one of the employees there. At the beginng of the call they were willing to honor the family discount. In the middle of Valery taking my order, I heard someone tell her in the background that they werent going to honor the dicsount because of where I work. VALERY THEN HUNG UP ON ME SAYING "SORRY WE CANT DO THAT!" IN THE MIDDLE OF MY ORDER!!!! I was willing to pay retail anyway, I still wanted food, but they dont even seem to care about family of co-workers!! If this is how they treat thier family, then I would not and will not EVER eat there or send them ANY business. I called back and the manager Ana answered and I told her what had happend and she said "So your saying that I hung up on you." No, I told her I said your (her being the manager) employee hung up on me. She was defensive and didnt even appoligize or take any accountability! I will never take my wife and two kids there again.

Horrible experience all together. I wouldnt ever go back to any of the locations after this experience. My gf ordered the volcano ended up with hair in her scrambled eggs, I ordered the grizz the hashbrowns were burned, the ham steak, sausage and bacon were all cold. The children had the mini volcano which was fine however the cheeseburger basket that showed up was completely wrong and took 40 minutes to replace then my pancakes showed up 5 minutes after that and tasted like grilled onions. The cooks were complianing about the wait staff and swearing in spanish about them while the wait staff was blaming the cooks. The manager did finally give us $10 off the $45 order today after I refused a $10 future visit coupon as we dont live in this town and she said it wouldnt work at another location, while making excuses for the staff. It was a completely unprofessional experience all together.

My partner and I ate at Black Bear Diner for the first time on Saturday night, and I was sorely disappointed in the fact that my mashed potatoes werent even luke warm when I received them. When I flagged down the server, the solution she offered was to microwave my plate. Under any circumstances, this would have been unacceptable, but seeing as I had uneaten fish and already-overcooked vegetables on my plate, this was even less viable or pleasing. Ultimately, it donned on her that she should offer a new, hot serving in a separate dish. When I received it, it appeared to have been microwaved. On our exit from the restaurant, we overheard a rather frustrated gentlemen explaining to the kitchen that half his plate off eggs and breakfast items was cold. Clearly there is an issue in the kitchen that hasnt been readily identified and resolved. We are unlikely to be returning.

A friend and I twice attempted to eat here before we were finally able to: There were two failed attempts due to it being extremely busy with lines outside the door both times. The first time was a holiday and the second time was a weekend. Prepare to arrive very early or very late or perhaps on a very slow week day; otherwise its likely that it will be too busy to make the trip to this diner. In my opinion, this diners prices are a little bit high compared to say...Toms Pancakes or Village Inn or other comparable diners. I had high expectations about the food quality and serving portions. In my opinion, Black Bear diner didnt quite meet either of these expectations. Food was decent but not that great and serving portions were no different or larger than other diners. All in all, a somewhat generic diner that is neither great nor bad.

This is one great place! The whole place has character. From imprinted feet in the sidewalk outside to the newspaper style menu, this isnt your typical diner. Its better. Warning: this place is very popular so make sure you come early or have plenty of time to wait. But let me tell you its well worth doing either. I went with my family and friends on a Saturday morning for brunch. Black Bear is known for their huge portions and amazing breakfast so I had to check it out. I heard they make a lot of food from scratch and I had my heart set on the corned beef hash and eggs. Sure enough, it was amazing. They even make their own fresh squeezed orange juice. Highly recommend a minimum of 3 visits to this place if not more. 1 time at breakfast, another for lunch and a third to try the dinner. At least thats my plan anyway.

I would give this a zero if I could. I have been many times but I have never been so disrespected in my life. I am temporarily crippled and requiring the use of a knee scooter. They were busy and sat is at a booth by the bathroom which was fine but the hostess came to our table and told me she was going to take my scooter to the front of the restaurant to get it out of the way. I didnt want her to take it from me since I need it to get around and it is a rental (I also dont want it stolen). I tried to tuck it even further under the booth (it wasnt THAT in the way) she said it wasnt good enough and physically tried to take it from me. I said I was just going to leave. We are now at ihop, much better! Do not go if you are disabled in any way!

Ive been at this location 2x. Ive been very satisfied every time I come and eat here. The waiter from my first tine here (mercedes was his name) he was very fast and delivered our food in a timely manner. The 2nd time I was here, this older lady attended me, she had a good attitude, on point eith her service and mind you this particular day was busy! It was actually easter day, and we had to wait about 30-40mn for us to get a table but the moment I sat down this lady treated me like ger daughter and i loved that. I definitely will come back especially when it was bisy she got my food 10mns later which i was surprised! I totally love the food here it is homeade style and absolutely love it. When i come back ill ask for that waitress again!
