DISAPPOINTMENT! SKIPPERS WOULD HAVE BEEN BETTER BY FAR. Used to be a great place to eat:( My husband and I used to eat here regularly. We went there on February 19th to celebrate Valentines Day. I ordered the large combination seafood platter, and my husband ordered the large prawn platter. Both of these dishes were over $20+ each. I received my platter and literally uncovered BURNED scallops that were hidden under the rubber prawns (they tasted like rubber). The only things I liked were the fries and the fish. The fish was slightly overcooked but was still good. My husband was starving so he ate his platter of overcooked "rubber tasting" prawns. This used to be the best place in Albany to eat, now I will never go there again. We were so sad. The quality is no longer of concern to the cooks. This was not a busy time for them, so there was not excuse for the food being overcooked. I know that all of my platter seafood was thrown into the same fry basket and when the fish was done they removed the basket. All of these foods cook at different times and should have been cooked accordingly. The waitress was nice enough to reduce the bill by $10. If they do not change fast they will be out of business by the end of the year. I am going to stop wasting my money on non-edible food like this was. Heart broken.

I went here for lunch the other day and was kind of shocked to see how spendy this place was. They had a lunch special so it was more reasonable than dinner, but it was still expensive. Food got out to us reasonably fast, but the quantity left something to be desired. I ordered the shrimp & fries, and there was a grand total of four shrimp. This wasnt enough to qualify as a main dish in my opinion. The rest of the plate was large-cut fries, which was the bulk of the meal considering how few shrimp there were. I thought they were pretty good, and they provided tartar and honey mustard sauces at my request for no extra charge which was a big plus, but some variety would have been nice. This place has very few items to choose from in general, and if you dont want fried food you are out of luck. The person I was with liked his meal even less. He got the fish & fries, and said the fish tasted frozen and some of the fries werent cooked enough. Add 2 shrimp, cut the price a dollar or two, and add some coleslaw or something and this place might be worth going to again. Until then, Ill pass.

We happened to catch the scent of this place (literally) one day we were driving by with the windows down and it smelled heavenly so we went around the block (you have to because its one way here) and stopped inside. The fish and chips are wonderful. We usually get the six piece fish takeout once a week on the weekend. The staff is always nice and friendly (and competent). And the food is always reliable and cooked well. I notice that some people claimed their food was soggy. We have never had that problem. We dont normally eat fried anything because were very health conscious, but we also dont like the British version of fried fish because its usually burnt and has heavy batter on it. Depots fish is not like that. Its light and about the fish, not the batter. Weve been there about a dozen times now and the food and service are consistently excellent.

I had never eaten here until a few months ago. My wife, mother and I were out shopping, and we decided that some fish and chips sounded like a great idea. Having heard that the Depot was *the* place to go for fish and chips, we headed over. The menu was small, mainly being breaded/deep fried seafood. Not a problem, seeing as that was what we expected and wanted. But being charged $9.95 for the small plate of shrimp and fries was a bad sign. Then, the plate came. I normally like my salad cold and crisp, so having it intermingled with my fried food wasnt a good sign. Nor was the fact that the small plate came with 4 shrimp! The quality wasnt bad, but not *that* good. I am planning to avoid the Depot in the future, and would not recommend it to anyone who wants value for their food dollar.

I am from Beaverton.Being new to the Northwest I travel a lot to the coast and surrounding areas. My brother and I ate here on one road trip and I was surprised at the how good the fish and chips are. Yesterday we were in the same area but couldnt remember the name or exact location so we ate somewhere else.As soon as we got home I searched on google and from now on we will be eating fish and chips at the depot when we are in the area.If you are watching your diet and limiting grease and oil I recommend this place as the place to go to go off your diet.I do not eat fried fish often But this is my favorite spot for fish and chips.

While living in Corvallis, I ate here whenever I was in Albany. The fish is light and flaky, not oily, rubbery, or overcooked. Excellent, the best I have had anywhere. The salads with the shrimp are huge, and the shrimp is fresh. Excellent. Their orange lemonade is extremely refreshing. The biggest surprise, though, is a thing they call a Salmon Smoothie (no, not a drink), and it is absolutely the best salmon spread I have ever eaten. I really miss not having that available where I now reside. Great food, you will not walk away hungry unless you choose to do so, and the prices are not outrageous.

The atmosphere of the place was good. That gets it 1 star. The service was not good at all. I got a refillable drink, but it was never refilled because the waitress never came by after serving my meal. The food was mediocre at best. The fish tasted like something you get out of the frozen section of the grocery store. The fries were ok, but maybe a little undercooked. Yet everything was expensive. It was like the twilight zone, where the more you pay the less you get.

If I wouldnt go again, I wont give more than two stars. The decor was so dusty, the carpet=DISGUSTING, the service slow despite there being only one or two other tables seated, and food options were so limiting (I think we all ordered fried seafood, with one shrimp Louie salad) and it was soggy. I should mention this was at like 5:30pm on a weekday! Too bad, hope something else goes in there eventually.

We have had very positive experiences at The Depot. The first time there, I ordered a "medium" shrimp salad; there was so much shrimp on it that I had to take some home! My husband tried their chicken wings and rated them as Wonderful. Since then, weve tried their seafood and have never been disappointed in either the quality or the quantity of food.

This place was beyond bad. Disgusting as a matter of fact. My water glass came with lipstick marks, not once but twice!! All the server did when I pointed it out was say " why yes that is lipstick" didnt even apologize. For a fish and chips place, the F/c was mediocre, fries were cold. Way overpriced. Terrible. Dont go there.
