This restaurant is currently sending out advertisements and coupons that state Monday night kids meals are $1.99. Although after eating and showing the server the flyer we received in the mail (that didnt expire until July 31st, and we went July 19th), he told us that the specials change every month and that wasnt valid anymore. Two weeks later we received another ad in the mail stating the same thing as before ($1.99 kids meals). I went in to talk to the owner. A server greeted me, and I asked if the owner was there. He said "yes". I said "can I talk to him"....he looked at me and said "uh, I mean no hes not here". He got on the phone and called the "owner", and handed the phone to me. Long story short, the owner said no deal, he didnt care what the advertisement said, the new deal was the kids get a free popsicle. This place is shady and I will never be back. Oh yeah, the food wasnt that good, and this was my opinion before the kid meal thing went down.

Delicious food; consistently terrible service. Ive been many times and Ive never had a good server. No matter how few customers are in the restaurant, servers seem to rarely check if you need anything. The only reason I come back is for the food. EDIT: After making the above review, we decided to keep trying Los Jalapeños by ordering takeout; we thought this would solve our problem of terrible service... We were VERY wrong. Most of the time want bad, except this last time. We ordered two entrees, salsa and chips, and guacamole for takeout. They repeated my order over the phone and it was correct. After picking it up and coming home, I realized that not only was the salsa and chips and guacamole missing, but a portion of my meal was missing too. Side note: when I was waiting on my food, another customer was asking for the manager because she was also receiving horrendous service. This was the last straw - we will never return to Los Jalapeños.

The entire experience was absolutely terrible. We sat and waited for a server for 10 minutes and eventually were greeted by the waitress saying "Do you know what you want?" No hello, no welcome, nothing. The food was terrible and tasted like bland wall paper. The server took 10 minutes trying to pour a draft beer and when she finally gave up she put a bottled beer on the table and said sorry. The waitstaff was running around frantically even though we were one of three tables in the entire place. Ive been in restaurants for 6 years and have NEVER treated or even can remember being treated like this anywhere else EVER. The decor provided for entertainment as we sat and tried to figure out the ridiculous banners on the walls while waiting for our check. I would never reccomend this place to anyone. Dont waste your time, there is an El Vaquero right across the street from the Gahanna location if you are in the mood for Mexican.

Wow, the decor has changed a lot since Ive been back there. Looks very family-based now and lots of new bright colors. I just got a dessert to-go which was fried icecream, my fave! Service was nice, and I got it really fast. HOWEVER...when I got home it was made with strawberry icecream instead of vanilla. Theyve never made it that way before, and I wasnt asked what flavor of icecream I wanted so I wasnt expecting that. I hate strawberry icecream....but....it was actually verryyyyy yummy. As weird as it sounds. The strawberries in it tasted kinda fresh. I do prefer the vanilla made one, but damn that was good ;) thanks for the mistake!!! The tortilla bowl it is made in is also bigger than it was a while back. I will have to come back and sample the food since its been a while. Wasnt too fond of this place a year ago. Hopefully new & improved everything else too!!!! :)

My husband and I and my son and his girlfriend absolutely LOVE it. We try to go once a month. The staff is the same every time you go in. They are great. We love Jason our server. I am a vegetarian and I love their vegetarian enchiladas. It is exactly the same every time I get it. There is another Los Jalapenos on E Broad St. We quit going to it over a year ago. Inconsistent with the food. Its good and then not so good the next visit. A friend used to love to go in there and eat but she told me a few stories about how rude the manager was to her. After my experiences and my friends I decided it was time to quit going to that one even though it is closer to our house. We were afraid to go to this one on Hamilton but I am so glad we took a chance on it.

I went to Los Jalipenos at Gahanna for an evening with my girlfriend. It was raining and we where in the neighborhood so we decided to enjoy some mexican food. We heard that the old, sub par, Casa Fiesta had a new ownership and were willing to give it a try. After one night there, we were sold. The Grilled chicken fajita was juicy yet delicious, cooked to perfection. We were a little bit lenient try the guacamole, for fear it had been sitting around all day, but had the oppertunity to have them make it right there at the table with fresh ingredients! Lastly, leaving we were handed two free Red White and Blue popsicles and enjoyed them on the way to the car, as well as a calander with all of their daily specials. definantly a place to eat at again.

When we first moved to Columbus a year ago we have been trying to find a good Mexican restaurant (which we found is damn near impossible) Why do they all use what taste like El Paso seasoning from a taco kit at Mijers? This place, wow, absolutely the worst meat I think Ive ever eaten. Good taco meat should consist of a little cumin, salt, pepper, garlic, onion, thats it, nothing more nothing less. Let it cook down for a hour or so till its very loose and tender. Ive been to Mexico a half dozen times and of course you cant compare it to food there. Im sorry for the bad review but cold, clumpy, and I mean clumpy meat is not Mexican food. Tastes like Old El Paso, which is just disgusting.

Stopped in here for a quick couple of drinks durning happy hour!! Soon as I sat a bar and gentlemen came right over with chips and salsa. They were good but couldnt tell difference from mild or hot if there was one. Shortly after a young lady bartender greeted us and she was very friendly. I had one marg. and could tell it was a pre mix so she kindly made my next marg fresh with no hesitation!! Overall margaritas were ok, nothing great. You can get them frozen or on rocks durning happy hour till 7. They also have $1 tacos which were good (I had 2, chicken and beef) If I didnt have dinner plans I would have probably ordered a meal, prices and food looked great!

Terrific Los Jalapenos on North Hamilton in Gahanna is an absolute winner. The bad reviews below must have come from the Twilight Zone because those people didnt eat at the same restaurant we have frequented for the past 6 months! Their Carne Asada is the best I ever ate. It is a serious steak grilled to perfection. Their guac is off the charts. The margaritas are great, including a surprisingly delicious avocado margarita, really! Their Churros and Sopapillas are completely fabulous. Gahanna has the best wait staff (esp. Maria) and manager (Shannon). The atmosphere is fun and the food is delicious. We come with the whole family and always enjoy it.
