I really hate to do this because the cakes and cupcakes are delicious, but I was not pleased with how we were treated in regards to the 1st birthday smash cake and cupcakes we ordered. I have also purchased my wedding cake from here, so we thought it would be another great experience. We placed the order around 6 weeks in advance. When I realized no one had called to get specifics about the order, we went into the bakery with pictures and ideas about what we wanted (3 weeks before). I had even printed off the pictures, including one that was a cake from the website that they had already made for another customer. When we went into the shop, we explained our ideas to the employee because the owners were not in. We also said many times, that we are not bakers so we understand if what we want is not possible. The employee told us they would contact us with any questions but advised us through the process and it seemed like everything was fine. We were not contacted until THE DAY BEFORE the party and it was not pleasant. The owner was very rude about what we had asked for, as if we should understand the ins and outs of making a decorated cake. At one point even said, "how could you not know this?" In regards to fondant vs. Buttercream on the smash cake. She eventually admitted to not having enough time to even look at orders until right before they needed to be completed. She belittled us for not knowing how to make this cake, when we admittedly said we did not know what we were doing when we first placed the order. There were many rude comments made by the owner that I will not repeat on here but be advised to call and check on your order beforehand, buy your own cupcake topper so you need them (even if no one told you that you needed to) and get a price quote when you place the order. She was even rude to US about the price that we were willing to pay and were also never given, kind of questioning if we were willing to pay it.

From the moment we had our first meeting/tasting to the set up at our wedding, Heather was such a joy to work with! Unfortunately we didnt get to meet Heathers husband at the tasting, but Heather took wonderful care of us. She was so down to earth and listened to every single idea we had and shared in our excitement. Everything we discussed came to life and I couldnt be happier. For our October 19th 2013 wedding, we had 4 different flavored cupcakes as well as a 6" cake for cutting. The set up was lovely and turned out just how I pictured it. My mom had called the week before the wedding to make sure everything was still on track and found out that they were helping another local caterer on top of all of their own work. The fact that everything came together perfectly all while being extremely busy just goes to show the kind of professional and caring people youll be working with. Great and affordable prices, tasty cupcakes/cake and a warm and genuine personality is what youll get if you choose McClain creations :)

Heather and Daryl made our wedding cake for an outdoor wedding in Granville in August. We didnt have any specific cake design in mind, so we showed them some pictures of some things we loved and some things that didnt work so well for us. We also gave them swatches of the wedding colours wed chosen and a graphic of string lanterns that wed used in our invitations, and then asked them to do their magic. Heather asked if we wanted to see concept sketches of the design theyd worked up for us, but theyre so good at what they do so we trusted them to surprise us with an original design that wed see on the actual wedding day. They didnt disappoint us. The cake was absolutely gorgeous! And the three cake tiers (all different flavors) were all delicious too. Amazing talent, lovely people to deal with, and a wedding cake that everyone enjoyed. We really couldnt have asked for better!

Weve just enjoyed our third cake from McClain Creations and, somehow, they just keep getting better and better! This last one was for our youngest daughters 1st Birthday, pink fondant with white fondant dots, white cake with thin strawberry jam filling (layer). Heather also made a "smash cake" that was identical but with a delicious buttercream frosting for our little sweetie instead of the stiffer fondant. It was beautiful and so delicious. McClain Creations is a truly talented and genuine crew. Definitely recommended!

I cant tell you how many coffee shops I have been to across the country but I can tell you the customer service you receive here is the BEST!!!! The coffee and homemade baked goods wouldnt even have to taste good for you to enjoy stopping in and want to come back, but nope, theyre amazing!!! Had a sample of the bread pudding today. BEST I HAVE EVER TASTED!!! This is a hidden gem!!

I have been working with Heather and Daryl since 2009! And every milestone we have, they are the first call I make. From Wedding, to Baptism, to Birthdays to Anniversarys they do it all for us. They are such wonderful people as well. Highly recommend them, and they are very affordable as well!! You will NOT be disappointed!

Love their cakes, cupcakes, cinnamon rolls, and pecan rolls. I mean they do not make anything I dont like. They also have coffee. Best bakery! The McClains are fantastic people. Such a great family.
