This place looks like a common strip mall Chinese restaurant but we all know you shouldnt judge a book by its cover. What this restaurant has that very few others do are the special pages at the back of their menu that feature authentic Chinese dishes - in other words you can get the food that Chinese people cook at home here. You are not even limited to that menu because they have cards on the walls listing even more chefs specials. You can be as daring as you like and try some of their dishes featuring things like tripe or organ meats. For me, as a vegetarian, there are also many delicious options throughout their menu. My favorite meal at Sichuan Bistro is the cold appetizer Spinach with Ginger Sauce along with their spicy Vegetarian Ma Po Tofu, accompanied with a great Tsingtao beer. In addition to the great food, this family owned restaurant is very welcoming and everyone who works there is very friendly. My daughter and I took my parents there for lunch recently and they loved it too. Prices are also very reasonable for the generous portions.

The only reason to come to this place is because of the food. Do yourself a huge favor and do not dine in. The servers are rude, extremely sloppy, and the service in the restaurant is absolutely terrible. The staff and everyone who works there speaks extremely terrible English and communication is always a hurdle when placing a order. Also be prepared to wait in line to pick up your food if you decide to do a carry out order because the ladies will just stand there and talk in Chinese for minutes on end without any regard to the fact that there are clients waiting. I stopped eating at this place inside the restaurant 2 years ago and I am very close to completely cutting off my business with them. And the owner is absolutely useless and could care less about customer satisfaction. Save your money and do not tip the servers or anyone in that establishment. Only reason that place still in business is because of the cook.

Worst experience ever – I can not give less than 1 star that why giving it 1 star. Service was very poor. It took near about 20-30 mins to serve our food. Nobody bothered to ask if we need anything else after we placed our order once. I was totally unhappy with their service, still gave a decent tip with a smiling face but the waitress was watching the amount standing by my side and suddenly yelled at me standing at the middle of the restaurant because the tip I gave was few cents less than the 15% of my bill. I felt very insulted. Then she ordered me to change the amount. I was not in mood to argue with the lady so added 70 more cents to total amount to make it 15%. I did not find any note anywhere in the restaurant mentioning the rule that 15% tip is mandatory even if you are not satisfied. My worst experience ever.

I have been to this restaurant over five times. The service has been poor, the food however has been very good. I havent enjoyed the service and on several occasions I have asked for extra rice and they dont bring it. On two occasions our dishes have come out separately and ten minutes apart, while other diners are getting their food. I wouldnt care if it was a few minutes apart however getting two dishes shouldnt mean a ten minute gap. Overall, order carry out and skip the dining experience and you will enjoy the food. Dont expect refills on drinks or Ezra napkins without an odd look as if this is not normal. Its a shame the service isnt better because the food is authentic and very much worth the trip. Sadly, I cannot return knowing I can get better service everywhere else.

A BAD appetizer!!! It is terrible but expensive, then I didnt want to order more. However, in the case that plus tax only five dollars, the waitress chased and shouted for one more dollar tip. What a DISGUSTING restaurant like this!!! DO NOT GO, though I only ate a little, I got an upset stomach for two days. The so-called Sichuan food is nothing but leads to diarrhea later. Besides, the waitress comes directly to clear the dishes off the table, regardless that you are still eating, as if they are urging you to leave. If you dont wish to be ripped off, never consider trying it.

Had bbq pork that was tough and seemed to be days old. The pork lo mein was decent but the owner at the register needs to understand being polite to a customer helps bring business back. I paid with a credit card and the owner tossed it at me across the counter instead of handing it to me (as my hand was extended) then he didnt even say thank you after the transaction was done. Not sure what his issue was but when your food isnt that great you dont have the luxury to be rude to customers. Find another place to eat.

This is my favorite restaurant in the tri-state area. Spicy. Delicious. Authentic dishes are a bit on the pricey scale, and you have to be patient if dining in when theyre busy. But its worth it IMO. Just not on a daily basis at those prices. They have the usual American-Asian dishes, and they taste great, but I go there strictly for the authentic dished. The red dry chili fish is the best (chicken good too), crispy tofu, bamboo and yacai, green beans, spicy sizzling beef, pork belly, ...all yum!

House fried rice (I would rate a 0) literally has nothing in it, except an occasional pea or grisly bad chicken meat. I have given them more than three chances too. Go to "China House" over on Fields Ertel (by JC Penney) is you want the best rice. Their rice has full shrimp, actual white chicken meat, pork, plenty of big veggies and is ten times the quality. Service at Sichuan is very poor too, with attitude or indifference. Language barrier is no excuse.

My favorite restaurant, of any kind, in the Cincinnati area. Fiery hot, savory and cooked to perfection. Very authentic but not afraid to use local ingredients either. Please order off the "Chinese menu" unless you like goopy sweet sauce! ^L^ I recommend Fish Filets w/Sichuan Sauce, Spicy Sizzling Shrimp, Chongqing Mala Chicken, Vegetarian Mapo Tofu, Triple Delight Spicy Soup, Dumplings w/Chili Oil and The Best Pot Stickers In The World™. *L* - Thomas

We love this restaurant. They offer American style chinese food and real chinese-chinese food. Every visit is an adventure. If you want to try somethings that you will not find in any other chinese restaurant in Cincinnati then you have to try this place. The people who work here are kind and couteous in a typical chinese manner which may seem slightly rude to most Americans but it is part of their culture and should be enjoyed for what it is.

The best food! The best Chinese restaurant in the greater Cincinnati area, really! Their food is on par with the Chinatowns in Chicago, New York, and D.C; probably the west coast as well; but they are right in Mason. Thats such a gift to the area. Best when you order from the Authentic Menu. You know its good when east Asian people pack the place. I love this place! I love the owners and the people who work there! Fantastic!

Authentic, tasty Sechuan food. Every dish Ive had here is amazing. The biggest problem is deciding. The staffs English isnt perfect, but I go for the food, not conversation. The are very helpful and attentive, though, and Ive never had a problem ordering. The atmosphere isnt bad, but its not amazing. Dont sit by the door on a cold day, though. Prices are reasonable and the value is good for what you pay.
