I checked out this place based on the good Dim Sum reviews and I was very disappointed. The moment we walked in, there was no one in the restaurant, no one! Not even a waiter. We were the only customers there. I had a bad feeling that the Dim Sum would be bad since no customers=no need to keep making fresh Dim Sum, and I was right. Instead of the Dim Sum being wheeled around on a cart, they were made to order, which is fine. I ordered some staple items. Since theyre so common, its likely the chef there cooks them a lot everyday so theyre bound to be good. When the food arrives, the har gaw was tough, and the skin chewy, not translucent at all. The BBQ pork buns were ok, but the fillings tasted stale. The turnip cakes were mushy. Everything else were pretty measly. Overall it tastes like they reheat a lot of items instead of making them fresh. There arent any Gai Lan either. If this is the best dim sum in Columbus, then I have to get out of town immediately! Im guessing people who gave this place 5 stars are either lucky to get a fresh batch of food instead of reheats, or they just have really bad tastes (or never had good Chinese food before). I dont consider myself to be a food fanatic but Ive had good Dim Sums before (in Toronto) and the Dim Sums at Fortunes just make me a little sad.

I used to like this place a lot, until I decided to become vegetarian. All of their lunch specials contain meat! There are two exceptions, but I wanted something more unique than just lo mein. I was disappointed in the servers ability to suggest any vegetarian options. He was difficult to understand and it seemed by best option was to order off the full menu, meaning I couldnt get the lunch special that includes soup and a roll and had to pay a higher price. When he asked how I liked my meal (eggplant), I said it was OK, but I didnt want to box it up to take home. He should have offered to comp my meal or to give it to me at the lunch price. There are several more accommodating Chinese restaurants, so I wont be back here.

I just ordered the dan dan noodles & crab rangoon for lunch here, and took it home to eat. My first time trying Schezuan food, and I thoroughly enjoyed it! Ill definitely be asking for it a bit hotter next time, because I loved the spice. The crab rangoon was the best crab rangoon Ive ever had; very flavorful, and the wrappers were so light and perfectly crispy - not greasy at all! Will definitely be returning a.s.a.p. Only thing I was disappointed about was that the woman who took my order said they didnt serve dim sum at this location anymore. Sad, but not anything against the food I had, which was excellent!

You know how at some Chinese restaurants where they serve breaded chicken and after awhile the breading gets all soggy due to the sauce or gravy that is poured over it? Well, you will not have that at this place. Their breaded chicken stays crunchy down to the last bite. And their egg drop soup is not only excellent, but unique as well because they add chunks of white meat chicken in their soup, where most places do not. I highly recommend this place for the Chinese Food Connoisseur!

I would have given this a solid three stars... The lunch menu is pretty good, and has a good variety of tasty and nicely prepared dishes for $5.50. Each comes with an egg roll and a cup of hot and sour or wonton soup. Nothing special, but tasty and filling nonetheless. Im dinging the restaurant down to 1 star because the server chased us down when we left because he felt the tip left by one of my friends was too little.

I tried this place a couple of years ago and the Chinese was the worst Ive ever had. A few months ago, I saw they revamped the kitchen and were using a new menu so I tried it again. It was really good. But the second time I went back, the food was aweful again. I may try it again, but will check my carryout before I leave and will not pay for bad chinese food.

Yaaasss!!! This place is the bees knees. The Sichuan fish soup is super spicy and just delicious. Our servers enjoy having us around and you know its good if 90% of the clientele are Asian. It is authentic Chinese cuisine from the Sichuan province. So its spicy and savory. They have Cantonese food too which is lighter and milder.

Unless youre ordering in Chinese or ordering standard american-Chinese fare (general tsos, lol me in, fried rice, etc.,) I recommend going in to order takeout so they dont get your order wrong. Also, to the food is okay for Midwest Chinese fare. The only downside is that the staff working the cashier register can be a little rude.

My husband I I tried this tonight simply because it was the closest to us for carry out. He ordered orange chicken with fried rice and I ordered sesame chicken with steamed rice; everything was correct and it was really tasty. They even use the old school chinese take out boxes instead of the styrofoam that most place use now :-)

The façade of the building is quite misleading. The food is really quite awesome. I particularly loved the Szechuan pork; yummy delicious without a bunch of "gravy," thin slices of crunchy fresh jalapenos and whole cloves of fresh garlic. Simply elegant. Even the steamed rice was special with its nutty flavor. Two thumbs up!

Easily the best Chinese food I have ever had. The food tastes fantastic and when going out to eat that is the most important factor. Fortune may not have a fancy building, all star waiters, or flashy service but you will not find better Chinese food in Columbus. Every person I have ever taken there agrees with me.

I have been a vegetarian for 33 years and the golden tofu was by far the worse tofu dish I have ever eaten or smelled. It was just gross neither my husband or I could eat it and he eats almost anything. I hate to throw food away but it went to the trash. He did however like his shrimp dish.

Friendly service, super quiet atmosphere, table linens, and affordable prices?! We are here at least once a month, sometimes twice. I cannot stop myself from ordering something new each time. Old favorites slip in here and there but it is so much fun trying the amazing variety.

Local favorite for all things chinese food. No wait and we were served in no time. Food was good and ample portion sizes. Had very good hot and sour soup. Rice was firm and tasty. This has been a staple of my visits to the OSU campus area for quite a long time.

The past experiences were good, but this time sweet and sour chicken makes me feel bad. I thought it should be sugar and vinegar flavored, but it is not. The sauce is a kind of magic red, like the potion in Harry Potter, and its neither sweet nor sour.

Sweet n sour chicken was great and even had a few veggies with it! Sesame chicken was a little weird. Ordered take out and they didnt provide any silverware/chopsticks or even soy sauce so make sure you double check your bag before you leave.
