Reviewed 09/04/15 TLDR: The food was OK but not great. Sometimes bland. Service was mixed but overall very nice. Location is well styled inside but hidden away in an old shopping center. I probably would not return. Food: I tried just about everything they had. It wasnt hard because they had maybe 20 items max to choose from excluding desserts. All the chicken such as General Tso and Sesame Chicken were 90% breading. The brown rice and white rice were plain but cooked well. The lo mein was lacking in flavor. As was the egg rolls. What I didnt try was either unappealing or they were out of it. They put out very little of each food at a time. Maybe enough for two to three people. Service: The assumed owner was at the register. Did not greet me when I walked in, but was ringing a customer up. I was unsure of whether it was self sit or if I needed to wait for a waitress to seat me. Finally a waitress walked into view and waved me to be seated. She was nice and curteous. Location: It is located in an old shopping center that is 50% vacated. There looked to be several cars in front of the area of parking for the restaurant but apparently they were patronizing an establishment next door as the restaurant was practically dead. The interior was well decorated for a Chinese restaurant in a shopping center. The booths and tables looked new or well cared for. Lighting was good and quiet Chinese music playing in the background. Two flatscreens with the food network of mute. A cheap fishtank with some pretty fish. Plenty of four person booths and a couple tables for larger groups off to the side.

Horrible customer service. Usually drive to this Chinese restaurant, passing up many others on the way because I prefer their food. However, last night my daughter and I dined in and were treated absolutely horribly. Manager was rude, all but said we were lying about my daughters age on the buffet. We were being watched the entire time we were eatting, and not in the positive "lets give our guests great service" way. I have heard and read other similar complaints. In a time where there are thousands of places to eat in this city, restaurants need to give guests a reason to spend their hard earned money in their place. I for one, will never spend another dime here. The proof is in the pudding, there are never more than 2 tables occupied at a time here. Im not sure how, they have managed to stay in business this long.

I have been coming to this restaurant for 30yrs with family. They made a mistake on our last carryout order of $50. When I called to explain the mistake, and asked for a replacement, I was told by the Chinese owner that I was lying, and that the order was correct. When I explained everything was correct exept the one meal I was then told I was lying again, and that he wouldnt replace it. I then explained I had been coming there for many years and never had this problem. He didnt seem to want to take the $12 loss for their mistake, so I just told him I wouldnt or any of my family be back. He said Ok. Terrible business ethics. For obvious reasons I will never patronize this establishment again ot recommend it.

Although we have dined here often before, the food was mediocre. Today will be the last visit to this astablishment. Although arivving at the diner hour, many of the food trays were empty, and the food that was already there were barley for fit for hogs. After having suffered the this meal we were presented with a check that was so outrageous we could have dined at red lobster and saved money. $12.50 and $2.50 for drink is outrageous for the quality of food we received and the rudeness from the staff. I have never before left no top at anywhere Ive eaten but had no problem doing it tonight.

Got here right after they opened for the day. Opted for the buffet since they were still cooking the food for it. We figured that it would be nice and fresh. It was.... However, the overall quality of the food has gone downhill over the years. The deep fried chicken was mushy, the egg rolls tasted worse than store bought, and the cost was more than much better lunch buffets elsewhere. I wont be going back, which is sad since this place has been around forever and I used to like it.

As a retired food critic, I have high praise and remarks for Sizzling Wok in Anderson Township. Excellent quality, superb taste, wonderful presentation, and generous portions. I have sampled Chinese-fare around the country and this is certainly one of the very best. It is quite rare to find this authentic cuisine in the midwest, albeit quite good for me as I have retired to the area and visit regularly. For those familiar - a 30!

I have eaten inside at the buffet to many times to count and never really had a bad experience or a major complaint. Today how ever I decided to order carry out. It was the worst Chinese food I have ever had, not to mention it was 39.99 for an order of chicken lo mein, pork egg foo young, 4 egg rolls and a won ton soup. I will never eat there again, let alone recommend it. All of the food was horrible.

The food is good, but the customer service(lady at the front desk) is horrible. Ive been there 3 times and every single time she was rude sighing and what not when I would ask her questions. It doesnt leave much to the imagination why shes working a front desk at s restaurant when shes like in her 50s.

Went in about 15 min. After opening and the buffet had nothing on it had to wait about 15 more minutes before it was stocked. When it was everything was fresh and HOT . Been going to this place for 20 years roughly. And have never had a bad meal.

The buffet consists of one row of food, half of which is deep fried American food. All the food was poor and Luke warm. Then get the bill and find out that buffet was 12.50 plus 2 bucks for a drink. Horrendous. Wish there was a zero star option.

Just for the egg rolls. Just love them will stop and get them to loved them to go. Sauce duck and Chinese mustard, we just cant get these anywhere else. Did I say we love the homemade fresh made EGG ROLLS?.

It was one of times I believed those "5 stars" reviews...place looks nice on inside, but food is bad. The Buffet food looked stale. Meals are way overpriced for bad quality of food. Will never go there again.

The other reviewer was right. Get the buffet! Only once did I have a less than stellar meal. The food is always tasty and plentiful. One bad meal in 20 years isnt bad!

The best Chinese buffet on the east side. Try the egg rolls, theyre 100x better than the cheapy spring rolls that you get at other buffets.
