Awful experience. I arrived with 3 others at 7:30 and was told there was a 10 minute wait for a table. We were sat 30 minutes later and waited at our table for another 10 until the hostess came over and explained all the servers were too busy to wait on us and she would be our server. There was no more than 40 people in the place. We ordered a bottle of wine and starters and waited another 15 minutes before our wine arrived. The hostess held the wine glasses by the rim and took our order. One of our starters came out but the second took another 20 minutes to hit our table. At this point we had been waiting for over an hour and a half and we asked to speak to the manager. We were told "She is just going to send me back over here, shes got a lot of people mad at her and she wont come out of the back". What a joke. I wish I could review the food, but we left after waiting for 2 hours. Dont waste your time or your money at Bigeye.

Ive been going here for almost as long as its been open. Their dine-in happy hour (1/2 price maki rolls), now 4:30-5:30, is an unbelievable steal. Even at full price, however, the sushi is good quality and portions are generous. Youll get a lot more sushi for the same price than other area sushi bars. The only drawback is that the dining room isnt very large, so they only have one or two servers working the floor. Service can be slow on busy nights. Call ahead and ask.

Unfortunately, I moved away from being in close driving distance here as often. But I would highly recommend this place to anyone who loves friendly customer service and quality food at a good price! I would grab my spicy salmon rolls here on a regular basis and I have never once had a bad experience. I never write reviews but Big Eye deserves to reflect the credit its due. You guys are amazing, Ill probably order some lunch today since Im in the area, haha. Thank you!

The food was alright but nowhere near worth the two and a half hour wait for service. I arrived with my 20 month old daughter and a birthday party with few other customers in the restaurant yet still had to wait over an hour after ordering to get our dinner. Other members of our party recieved their food at least 30 minutes before the rest of us. I had to get up to request the food for my daughter and I after she became so restless that she was almost unmanagable.

This is our go-to sushi place! I have no idea how people can write such poor reviews for this wonderful restaurant. We LOVE some of their specialty rolls like the Hurricane (most favorite) the rainbow, Sunday morning, the volcano.... etc.... The wait staff is always pleasant and friendly. Reasonably priced for fantastic sushi! If you want quality, well made sushi, you will be pleased. If you want bulk or buffet sushi...go somewhere else.

Half priced maki and nigiri during happy hour make this place a must for keeping on a budget. The fish is fresh and flavorful, but the portions are not too large. The service is OK at best; its always either too slow or they bug you a lot. Its a great place to go Mon-Thurs for dinner for the low prices; it can definitely satisfy your sushi craving for a good price.

Best, and freshest sushi I have had in Ohio. Super affordable compared to other sushi places in the area. The tempura here is amazing. Sometimes the service can be a little slow, so I wouldnt go if youre in a rush. They only have Saki and beer, no liquor. The bathroom is large, but no changing table for babies/toddlers.

We love this restaurant. Whenever a special event happens, it seems Big eye is often the eatery of choice. The veggie tempura is great, the lobster bisque is to die for, and the house rolls to the specials are all fantastic. The food, the atmosphere, and the price hit the spot for us.

They have a great menu, with great food, but unless you have a few hours to waste, I wouldnt recommend eating there. They are understaffed constantly, which speaks about how cheap the owner is. Theyre not willing to provide good service just to make a few extra bucks.

We each had the sashimi combo for lunch and neither of us could eat the snapper - it just wasnt fresh. The green tea was served in a bag and cost $2 a cup - ridiculous. If you like good quality Japanese food and fresh raw fish - this is not the place to go.

This place has great sushi. The prices are great too! A dinner for 2 is around 30-40 dollars with an entry and appetizer. The service is excellent. The ambiance is quiet but very nice. A great place to eat! Arguably the best sushi in town!

Overpriced sushi and the service was not great. We ordered the special which if you do the calculations, there wasnt much of a difference in price. I would not go back, plus the background music was not meshing with the decor.

Excellent food, the prices arent that bad either. The only thing that was disappointing was the wait for the food. Despite that, it was a great experience overall and I will be returning for sure.

Sushi is fresh, and pleasant to both sight and taste. Enjoyed salmon numerous times which is typically a fishy taste. Not here. Best place ive had sushi in Akron! Great staff as well

The food was crazy expensive. We havent been back since and probably wont. The food/service was very good but not when we got the bill. The food/value just wasnt there.

The best sushi in town. New owners - now even better! Try the Tony roll, Sunday morning, and Vegas rolls. And salmon sashimi, of course.

Best Sushi place in Ohio. The Vegas Roll is back. Reccomend Big C, Jalepeno Yellowtail appetizers. Sake flight is good value.

Great place for Sushi! Even though they are a little on the pricey side, they serve big portions and style them very well.

Good sushi. Place could be more upscale if they didnt have TVs everywhere like a bar.

Half price sushi on weeknights is a hidden gem. I love this place for that reason.
