To start this off I love japanese cuisine.. i try every new japanese restaurant that comes in town.. but since i started going to A1 about two years ago now when it opened.. nothing has topped it!! the best service you could possibly have at a japanese restaraunt.. they go through quite a bit of waitresses.. but if you go ask for linda.. shes the best!!.. ALL of the chefs are NICE, ENERGETIC, AND ON TOP OF THEIR GAME!!! ive been there probably 30-40 times and ive only seen them mes upp a trick a handful of times... the hibachi is AMAZING!! and if you go for lunch you cant get a meal for $6.95 no one can beat that! MAKE SURE YOU TRY THERE SHRIMP SAUCE!! AMAZING!! also the soup and sald that come with it are great!! believe me when your done you will have some left to take home.. now to the sushi.. there is usually 2 chefs working the sushi bar... and they get it to you QUICK.. the presentation is beautiful.. and the taste matches! my personal favorites are the A1 roll, Volcano roll, rainbow roll, shrimp tempura, and the fatty tuna sashimi... the decor of A1 is authentic and looks very nice they have a bar with tons of liquor and some amazing drinks like the A1 volcano.. and the sake is great... if your in canton and havnt tried it your truly missing out!! and if you come to visit it is sure not to disappoint!!

They gave my party spoiled meet and all the food was over cooked. The shrimp was like eating rubber as well as the lobster. I asked to speak to the manager to inform him that my meal was uneatable and that we threw out 95% of our food only eating the rice from our meal. The manager responses to this was Im sorry about that, so how do plan on paying for the meal cash or charge, I end up paying the full amount for the food (Yes $200) to top it off I got very sick as did every one in my party. I will never in life return to A1 japan Steakhouse witch should be call F1. Eat here at you owen risk!! That is why it is not crowded, their food is bad as in spoiled. If you want a true hibachi experience Wasabi Japanese Steakhouse & Sushi Bar is right down the road. Its about the same price and the food is excellent. Dont take my word for it and find out the hard way. Your pockets lighter and your belly empty.

Do you enjoy eating processed chicken luke warmed and served with a thick, brown glaze poured over it and then passed off as being teriaki sauce? Do you like eating sushi rolls that taste like the fridge? How about a fried version of that same chicken that is so dry youll need to pour some kind of sauce over it if you plan to eat it? If so, A1 Japan Steakhouse if for you! But should these culinary delights not suit you, just tell the non-English speaking waitress and shell bring over the manager who will placate and bring you one plate of habachi cooked items for your table of four to "try", and then bill you for the four dinners, sushi rolls and drinks, and send you on your way with a plug for the new location opening somewhere up north in the state! We would not eat there again if it were free!

A1 I feel is the best Japanese streak house in the area. The steak and filet is always tender and cooked right, and their sushi is always good. I always suggest getting the filet and shrimp hibachi, spicy crab and California rolls. On Mondays theres half off sushi starting I believe at 4:30. Their lunch special is a great deal also running from 11-2:30. They have been slowly updating the inside of the place too so its starting to look really nice as well. I highly recommend this place over Wasabi due to the fact that you get more food with your meal, and dont get charged extra, for example $2 for fried rice at Wasabi where as its included with your meal at A1. Can never go wrong with this place!

My boyfriend and I went here for Valentines day and were treated like royalty. Fast service, friendly and helpful servers, and plates are delivered quickly and hot. The food was fantastically fair priced, generous portions, and not to mention beautifully presented. I was more than satisfied, I was overwhelmed. The taste and textures of the food exceeded expectations. It was delicious. The atmosphere was interesting and calm. It played on the Japanese theme well. A night to remember for a long time. Thank you.

Good sushi, great experience, lovely staff. I have a service dog and they warn you before you go into the hibachi area that its likely to be loud, and that service dogs may not enjoy it. My first visit there, the host forgot to tell the waitress to get our orders, we sat for probably different minutes waiting. They brought out free ginger salads and chicken wings to apologize. Ive been back three times in two weeks. I highly recommend A-1 if you like sushi or hibachi :)

The worst! The lobster roll was loosely rolled and was cut way too big. The salad and dressing were served ICED cold. I ordered the hibachi chicken for my main and it was horrible. The chicken was raw and there was no seasoning on ANY part of the meal- rice, noodles, veggies, shrimp. Boyfriend ordered the steak medium rare and it came rare. How this place has gotten so many good reviews is beyond me... do yourself a favor and do not waste your time going to this joint.

BEST place around for sushi! If you dont mind "Americanized" takes on sushi(you probably dont), then get the signature A1 and Mady Roll for starters...then go CRAZY!! Also make a night of it and go to the wisely sectioned off habachi area and take in the full experience; flaming volcanos, sake squirting, metal spatula flipping and ALL! A bit on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for. Why are you still reading this? JUST DO EEET!!

This is my favorite sushi joint around the areas, Id recommend sitting at the sushi bar if ordering sushi. The sushi chefs are awesome and I guess if they like you enough you get a dish on the house, like an appetizer of sorts. Or anybody its anyone whom sits there. No idea really lol. They are a bit pricey but totally worth it in my opinion. On the other hand a bottle of sake is pretty cheap and delicious. DRAGON ROLLLZ FOR LYFE

Food is alway good . Great place to eat . Only complaint is the last couple times we have been there they have used extended tables to get more people in and it takes away from sitting at the hibichi. And the person on the end is split between there xtra table and the hibitchi table . They need to do away with them and not be so greedy. Let everyone enjoy the experience.

My wife, 2 yr old son and i eat here. While the decore isnt as fancy as wasabii, they make up for it in the portion size, taste, and hospitality. Even though there was only 3 of us at the hibatchi table we got the full show and our cook interacted very well with our son. We felt wanted there. I would recommend a-1 as a great place to eat.
