I had been watching the renovation to the building and property for many months prior to it opening approximately 2 months ago. As the process continued, it became evident that whoever was behind this makeover and clean up of the building and property was serious about this venture of opening a new Chinese restaurant in the Northland area. The building exterior received fresh new paint and an attractive face lift of brick-faced panels and other highlights. The areas in the front, side and rear of the building became the brand new concrete entryway from Karl Rd leading to the parking lot with ample spaces in all areas. Serious dollars being invested by someone to make this location an attractive and comfortable vision to entice you to come on in. That someone behind all this cleanup and remodeling ? Lucky Bamboo 2 owner and Chef, Zhi Qiu Chen. This location, at 4400 Karl Rd. Columbus, is Chef Chens second central Ohio Lucky Bamboo restaurant with his first being located in Newark Ohio. Business has been booming in Newark for the past 11+ years ! When we entered the restaurant, along with the friendly greetings of several staff members, we were treated to a really inviting, clean and organized interior with all new tables, chairs, booths and flooring. The building had been completely gutted and rebuilt during the remodeling process. When we were finished with our meal Chef Chen even gave us a glimpse of the kitchen area where all the magic occurs. Like all aspects of this renovation, the kitchen was spared no expense to be equipped with all new shiny clean stainless steel equipment, cooking and work surfaces with all kinds of kitchen gadgetry I couldnt begin to describe. Rest assured that you dont have to worry about the cleanliness and sanitary condition of the food preparation area. Absolutely spotless ! As indicated previously and fortunately for us, Chef Chen was at the new Columbus location the night we went there and we had the opportunity to meet him when he came over to our table to personally greet us ! This type of pleasant personal interaction from Chef Chen is unrivaled by any place I have been and typical of all the staff we spoke with that evening. An apparent canon of Chen and his staff is to treat all his customers like family ... and thats exactly what they did. Amazing attention, service and courtesy abound. Heck, by the time I left that evening I felt as though I should invite the whole crew to an outdoor family picnic once the weather gets better ! Chef Chen explained to us that his culinary skills were developed in China and he has prided himself of continual dedication to high quality product of authentic Chinese and Thai origins while also providing a bit of Americanization to many dishes he creates. He also pointed out that there is no use of MSG in any of his recipes and that they offer a variety of vegetarian dishes for those who prefer that route. While I am in no way an authority on Chinese/Asian cuisine, I do know what I like and I like what I know when it comes to my limited preferences in Chinese/Asian dining. Teriyaki chicken is one of my favorites in the list of Asian dishes and Chef Chens take on Teriyaki chicken over steamed rice is over the top fantastic ! My daughter had orange chicken that was simply outstanding also. Our dinners arrived quickly and I snuck a sampling of my daughters orange chicken over steamed rice. Taste and olfaction receptors instantly kicked into high gear delivering a simple message. This stuff is out of this world good ! Of course, my next thought was hoping that my Teriyaki chicken would unleash an equally intense wave of taste and aroma bliss. It did ! My chicken was was perfectly cooked with a flavorful seasoned crispy layer surrounding the moist, tender and juicy white breast meat. The Teriyaki flavor was top shelf ! When combined with the perfectly prepared white rice and butterflied chicken breast, you have before you a delectable meal just waiting to be savored. For you connoisseurs of Chinese cuisine, do yourself a big flavor. Try it !

I have placed two separate carry out orders from Lucky Bamboo 2. A few months ago I ordered sweet and sour chicken, egg rolls and white rice. The trip home is very short...two minutes and by the time I started eating my food the pineapple, onions and carrots have turned my once crispy chicken soft. So last night I figured it was time for another chance. Well exact same order, exact same soggy chicken...but this time very over cooked. To bad because the egg rolls are very delicious. Maybe If a person was to ask for their sweet and sour chicken to be packaged in a different container to keep it from soaking up all the different juices

We were welcomed when we walked in and immediately seated and asked what beverage we would like. While reviewing our menus, we were asked if we needed more time. Our eggrolls and soup arrived shortly after our order was taken. Our entrees arrive hot and our beverages were replinished. The service we received was excellent even with the lunch rush ending and an extra-large family reunion or celebration being served as well. This is a very clean and bright restaurant. There were three in our party and we really enjoyed our food and service. I would highly recommend dining at the Lucky Bamboo 2 Restaurant.

Awesome Chinese Restaurant We have been eating at Lucky Bamboo 2 for a while now and have never had a bad meal. Their standard menu is full of well executed standard dishes like Hot and Sour Soup, Spring Rolls and Happy Family. We found out tonight they have a Chinese Menu, so we ordered the Beef Chow Fun and Beef Tripe and Tendon Noodle Soup. It was amazingly good. We have been looking for a place that services Chow Fun noodles in our neck of the woods and now we have found it. We will be coming back even more often! And the staff is super nice and the owner comes out to greet the customers

I just tried the food here recently for the first time. I went in and ordered take out, but saw enough of the place to see that it is clean and a nice environment. I had a green cury suace tofu, which comes with string beans and broccoli. The sauce was very tasty and spicy but not too spicy. And the string beans were not overcooked (which is a common mistake in other restaurants). Look forward eating in. I wish I would have tried the food here earlier.

Just ate there today. Everyone was super friendly. We ordered quickly and within minutes had our soup and less than 10 minutes after being seated and ordering we received our food. My friend ordered sesame chicken and I ordered a shrimp dish. We both agreed our food was delicious. We spent less than $30 on the both of us which included two appetizers and our meals plus drinks. Overall, very happy and will for sure be back
