Me and my wife had a plan yesterday to go see some live music and have a quick bite to eat w our 10 month old girl. The first 2 places we went to (in Covington) were packed due to the UK game. We had to make a stop at Sotto to get at gift card for a friend. While talking to the hostess she mentioned there was a small 2 person booth available if we wanted to eat. We made the decision to sit and dine (she is fantastic at feeding herself already) but we had never taken her to a restaurant like Sotto at this age (it was easier when she was 2-7 months and either sleeping or feeding on milk (nurse or bottle). We were immediately greeted by our server Hillary. We explained the situation and she helped immensely and took control. We asked for some bread for the baby and she got it very quickly. We order everything at once (something I always hated when I was serving). Everything came out quickly and in the right time frame. W this outstanding odering process (and delivery), we were able to keep our baby quite and happy throughout the meal and much to the enjoyment (Im sure) of all those patrons around us. I had served for nearly 8 years earlier in my life (and I was quite good at it LOL). Hillary blew me away at her attentiveness, desire to make us all 3 happy, menu knowledge, and overall help. Me and my wife like to dine at restaurants similar to Sotto (I proposed to her in Boca) and have been to LA, Austin, island resorts, Vegas, etc. But the dining experience I had last night at Sotto was the best I have every seen in the industry! Thank you, and again please tell Hillary we said thanks!

I went with a friend for a late holiday get together. Having been to La Normandie, I knew what to expect from the downstairs setting. There was a long wait past our reservation time. We were finally seated and our server greeted the table with an overly exuberant demeanor. Having heard so much about the goat cheese and hazelnut honey bruschetta we started with that. You get two pieces of toast, smeared with goat cheese, and drizzled with honey. The presentation was unimaginative. The bread tasted burnt and there was a surprising lack of tartness from the goat cheese. I kept thinking that a sprinkle of fresh thyme leaves would have helped provide some depth. Next up was a carpaccio of beef. Presentation was nice, but the portion was small and the dish lacked flavor. We decided to split a grilled swordfish. The fish was cooked well but again there was a lack of basic seasoning for the dish. There needed to be more acidity to balance the swordfish. Our server pretty much ignored our table after our first interaction so we were greeted only by the expediters until the end of the meal. Then our server finally appeared asking if we wanted dessert. With such a disappointing meal, we declined. Having heard so much about the restaurant, this was a disappointing experience. For the price, there are much better options in the city.

I made a reservation for my Wifes birthday a few weeks ahead of time and ended up needing to call due to our party size. They were able to get a reservation set but mentioned that we may end up sharing our table which was fine with me. When we showed up yesterday I found out we were in our own private room! Our waiter John was fantastic and very accommodating( he explained the entire menu to those of us who had not dined here before). We got a full course meal, a couple of appetizers, salads, main entrée and dessert and it was surprisingly very affordable for the caliber of the food. The garlic rubbed and the goat cheese &hazelnut honey bruschetta were absolutely phenomenal, the salads were unique and fresh. For the entrée my wife and I chose the short rib cappellaci which was served in a mouth watering sauce consisting of shallot, amish butter and thyme. We finished it all up with the ricotta doughnuts which were hot and fresh and came with chocolate, caramel and hazlenut sauce for dipping. I forgot to mention they always have an excellent wine and beer selection and it changes all the time. I really enjoyed the Christmas ale from Anchor Brewing in San Francisco. Bottom line: If you like good food and great service and you also happen to like Italian food this is where you should be going!

We came for a birthday dinner. Two diners could eat everything, one a vegan. I called beforehand to check on dining options. I was assured there was a full menu for a vegan. This was not the case. The only starter was bread with garlic (which was quite tasty). There were three salad options and only one pasta. Everything else had cheese. If you remove the cheese from the dish it doesnt taste right and its usually way too small. The other problem was their assurance that the portions were Italian sized which or server made clear meant small. We lived in Italy for three years and returned last summer for a visit. One of our big disappointments was that we could never order full meals (appetizer, primi, secondo, dessert) because we were full after pasta. The servings were quite large in our experience. We had a lovely evening, but left disappointed.

We stayed in Cincy for the Kentucky Derby for my bachelor party. One of my friends booked a section for 25 guys. I love food in Miami & I frequently go to New York City to visit my foodie friends. This place can compete with any major citys finest establishments in America. The food here is incredible. The service equally fantastic. Whats more? You dont pay a ridiculous arm and a leg you would have to pay in NYC or Miami for the same quality and atmosphere. This place is a must. I will be back here whenever I get to go to Cincy again. Good job Sotto team!

So, Im slightly obsessed with this place. My boyfriend spent the summer in Cincinnati for work and every time I came to visit, we had to come here. The black kale Caesar is the best salad Ive ever had in my life. I dont even like Caesar. We sat at the Chefs table last night and had an incredible experience. Working in restaurants my entire life, this is by far one of the most cohesive and efficient lines Ive seen. Its just a well oiled machine. No wonder the place stays packed. Great bolognese, great branzino, great pork loin, great everything.

Great location with very good Italian food but a bit too salty. I was here with a dinner for work and we got served different dishes every course which was really great and the variety and quality of the dishes was really good. For example the 3 different varieties of pasta were all delicious and diverse, the 2 types of desserts (of which one a delicious pannacotta) were very good. Just one critic (and this was echoed by other folks) several of the dishes, including the pasta al pepe were too salty...otherwise I would have given 5 stars!.

Very difficult to find, as the sign is at eye-level and there are stairs that lead down to the entrance door. As my eyes adjusted to the lighting, the candle-lit underground room turned very romantic. My husband and I ordered the house cured salumi, blue oven tortano bread, pennette vodka, wood fired branzino, and the doughnuts. Delicious. Im not big on seafood, but the branzino was so flavorful. I thought I would be hungry afterward, but everything settled so well after talking over coffee for a few minutes.
