There’s something for everyone at Patterson’s Fruit Farm: for the dessert lover, a top notch bakery (you won’t regret buying a half dozen apple turnovers or apple cider donuts, and their Dutch apple pie is hands down the best apple pie I’ve ever eaten); for the children, a sprawling complex of hay rides, corn mazes, playgrounds, and assorted paraphernalia; for the shopper, a sizeable general store featuring local and regional goods ranging from preserves and ciders to olive oils and fancy pastas; for sadists who can’t get enough of rush hour, a platoon of local sheriffs directing traffic in the parking lot. However, the thing I had the hardest time finding was the main reason I go to orchards: apples. As it turns out, if you’re looking to pick your own apples, you need to head to Patterson’s second location at 8765 Mulberry Rd; they no longer have apple orchards open to the public at this location. Once I got to the orchards themselves, I was underwhelmed: having just come from Eddy’s Fruit Farm, where uncommon varietals of apple abound, I was disappointed to see Patterson only had Gala, McIntosh, Honeycrisp, and Fuji available. I was left wondering why I had driven 30 minutes out to the orchard when I could have just as easily bought the same apples for a lower price at the Target half a mile from my house. I’ll probably be back to Patterson for more of their baked goods, and I’m sure people with children will appreciate all of the family-friendly activities, but when it comes to apple picking from now on I’ll be visiting Eddy’s.

Lost a star for poor service (otherwise would have been 4). Today I went to the pie counter and bought a blueberry pie - I asked if she would mind slicing it in half, as I wanted to give half to a friend: "No". I asked why on earth not "Were not a serving bakery". Indeed you are not, madam. Then at the cash register, the lady took a phone call for the entire time she was serving me, just giving me cursory nods, and mouthing thank you as she took $12+ dollars for one pie. Perhaps next time you can say "please hold" if the phone rings whilst you are engaging with a patron that has taken the trouble to actually visit your store. I can imagine the dirty look I would get (and quite right too) if I were chatting on my phone whilst paying her.

Patterson Fruit Farm is really a lot of fun. I visited here during opening day for apple picking (September 14th) with a friend of mine who had never been to an orchard. There were two varieties of apples available during this time: McIntosh and Gala, of which we decided on McIntosh. We both were really surprised with how many apples we were able to pick for the price! Patterson Fruit Farm is ultra-affordable, and guarantees a nice experience, whether you visit with family, friends, or a significant other. We witnessed on-going hayrides and a miniature festival occurring while we picked our apples, and there is even a corn maze to explore!

I call Pattersons my home away from home. Growing up on a farm in Michigan, it has been an adjustment to move to the city. Pattersons offers a respite in the country, with the walking trails of the Orchard Hills Park next door, to the rows and rows of apple trees for picking, to the corn mazes and woods filled with fun at the Mulberry Rd. location, and top it all off with fresh donuts and cider. Visiting is a fall tradition, but we go year round, as well!

I have only tried one type of apple from this farm but it was amazingly delicious and it was the best Apple Ive ever eaten in my life called gold rush which was given to me by a neighbor and it was so fantastic that I had to find out how and where to buy them. Ive heard nothing but great things about this farm that offers so much for the family from young to old and their customer service is amazing. When you want fresh produce go to Patterson Farms.

Bakery awesome!! However took kids to the kids fest which I was told included hay rides pony rides face painting and pumpkin painting..I paid 32 just to find no hay rides, the pony ride face and pumpkin painting had an additional fee. The only thing that was included was a sandbox push cars and some slides..Nothing at all worth the money..I could have gone to the park for more and for FREE!!! Very disappointed..

Love this place! The atmosphere is family friendly and weekends in the fall offer plenty of harvesting activities including hayrides. They have a bakery, specializing in donuts and pies, asa well as a cafe right on the grounds. The backs right up to Orchard Park, providing plenty of hiking opportunities. We love welcoming in the autumn here and love sharing the experience with family and friends.

As ALWAYS, it is a beautiful place to go with the family, pick your own apples or just buy great apples if the weather isnt cooperating, get some fresh popped, kettle cooked corn, pick out the seasons pumpkins and buy THE BEST apple cider and apple fritters you will ever have!!! Prices are a bit high but the atmosphere and quality help make up for it!

Ive been going here since I was a kid, and they always deliver. The best bakery, apples, and cider youll find anywhere. Its worth the trip to smell the bakery alone. To give you an idea of how good it is, I had their donuts driven down to Columbus to be my "wedding cake" when I got married.

Pattersons is a long standing local business with a produce/goods barn, a pick-your-own orchard, a park behind the barn, and one of the best bakeries out there (try the apple fritters)! Its worth the trip, youll find even more than I mentioned!

Really great place to pick apples with delicious baked goods. Also, the staff is the absolute sweetest. We ended up getting a flat tire and one of the people came out and changed the tire for us and gave us directions to where to get it fixed.

Little over prices, I think they forgot about where they came from. The families coming their for years as a tradition. Now its an over priced Hipster hot spot, with beards, uggs and flannel. Im all for businesses thriving but really?

Fun fall atmosphere. Great place for kids. The farm connects to a metro park with some nice trails. Most prices are reasonable, but some things are very expensive so read signs!

The pies and the donuts are legendary. They dont open early enough to make it convenient to stop there on the way to work... But people dont care. The quality is amazing.

We LOVE going here. My daughter loves playing on the tractor playground. In the fall they have a fun fest that is amazing. Such great memories to be made.
