I dont live in Ohio, but my family does, and EVERY time I come for a visit, they know that we will be making at least one stop to City BBQ. It is my favorite BBQ anywhere. The pulled pork is perfectly cooked every time, the ribs are so tender that the meat falls right off the bone, and the brisket is to die for! The greens, corn pudding, banana pudding, green beans, and cole slaw are my favorite sides, but many of the others are delicious as well. Every table is stocked with multiple types of BBQ sauce, vinegar, and mustard, so you can have their excellent meats to your own taste. They also serve North Carolina style pork sandwiches, so you have plenty of options. The service has always been top notch, and the pickles and sweet tea available at the condiment counter leave nothing to be desired. We used to go to the original Centerville location, but now we frequent the Beavercreek spot as well. Both locations are equally fantastic...I have been several dozen times and have yet to be disappointed!

My fiance and I had checked in to quite a few places for our rehearsal dinner. After comparing City BBQ, with restaurants like Brio, Spaghetti Warehouse, and Bravo, City BBQ came to the top of our list. Still I was concerned that it might not be all we expected. City BBQ EXCEEDED our expectations. They allowed me to try everything on the menu free of charge to help me make my decision. Everyone raved about the food! We had 3 meats and 3 sides, cornbread, hushpuppies, unlimited drinks, and unlimited dessert for 10.95 per person! If I were a wedding coordinator I would make it a requirement to have a rehearsal dinner at City BBQ. The staff actually seemed authentically happy to help in any way they could. I cannot say enough good things about City BBQ. They have a customer for LIFE!

On 4/21/2016 my husband and I took my out of state father to the Beavercreek location due to his love of bbq. It was lunch time so it was understandably packed but the line went fast to the cashier, the food came out quick, and everything was really smooth (great for when you have a 4 year old). Our fried pickles were brought out to us and the waitress was so nice. Then my husband told me about pork bark, its amazing and I wanted to get some more. I walk up but theres none there. A young man came out to our table and told me hed get me some. I was elated! Before we left my husband asked if we could have some more and they gave us some to go. The whole experience from start to finish was amazing. I loved it so much that now that my mom flew in I want to take her!

While at Wright-Patterson AFB last week for training I searched Google for the areas best BBQ. While City BBQ only has a 4.3 rating on Google they are seriously under-rated. I ate there twice and experienced some of the best BBQ outside the southern U.S. I have ever had. I had pulled pork, green beans, and collard greens the first time. I got the 2 meat combo w/pulled pork & 3 ribs (the order only called for 3 ribs but they slipped me 4), collard greens, and macaroni & cheese the second time. The food was some of the best prepared & and best tasting Ive ever eaten. The customer service I experienced was impeccable. I wish City BBQ would open up near my home in Tuscaloosa, AL.

Not only do I eat here regularly with my family, they also catered my sisters wedding. The caterer, Matt, was on time and set up everything, the food was hot and delicious even after pictures took a long while, he cleaned everything up when he was done in the kitchen at the reception, and he helped refill the pitchers even though they werent from City Bbq. All around a great experience and the price was excellent compared to other caterers where the food would have been subpar anyways. We are all now enjoying the leftovers and cant compliment them enough for the great experience so much so that I had to write a review.

Best CB in Dayton area (my opinion, and Ive been to many). Second best in Ohio. (Sorry, but the one on Tylersville Rd in West Chester has you beat, but only slightly). Not even the one in Centerville beats the one in Beavercreek (there, they overcook ribs). The ribs have always been perfectly done. My family loves to sit in the large (and quieter) canopied area, even using the picnic tables outside (usually not seen at City BBQs). I have to state that we really miss the outside sink. It saved having to gunk-up the door handle to go inside. Always treated well. Never a complaint.

I picked up food here on a recent trip to Dayton based upon a coworkers recommendation. This was well worth it. The BBQ was excellent especially the collards and pulled pork. The Judges Sampler came with plenty of food. Its a little pricy but you can feed two-three people on it. The only thing that wont last (3 meals) is the sides. I would definitely recommend checking it out. The decor and atmosphere seemed pretty cool too but I just picked it up to go.

The BBQ pork is very good here, you can even request for leaner meat, more bark/no bark if you want to be picky like that. There are a few types of BBQ sauce so everyone should be able to find something they like. Theyre sides, like many BBQ places are hit n miss. I prefer their corn pudding and green beans. I found that if I dont like a side item, they are happy to exchange it for something else. The portions are good and the food is served fast.

Meat was cinderized! Each time Ive eaten at City BBQ the quality has gone down- From wonderful at first, to mediocre, to unpleasant to eat. Ribs were mostly fat, and what meat was there was charcoal. Potato salad was good, beans were good. But even the brisket sandwiches ordered in our party were over cooked and tasted largely of cinderized meat. Sorry-- for 3 people to eat for $47 dollars I expect much more.

Average is as average does. I went to CB with high expectations, based on word of mouth and Google reviews, and was disappointed. I found the food to be bland and lacking of depth in the flavors. I suppose the rating is primarily from people who are locals and are accustomed to the food. I am not a local and judged the food based on my experience with barbecue restaurants in Florida, Alabama and Georgia.

Staff are great, however the beef brisket is dry and comes in small portions for the lunch special. The pulled chicken is very good and would be the meal I recommend. Overall the food seemed to be rushed and you can tell with the sides that they are not fresh. I am unhappy about paying nearly $10 for a single meal and my food was cold and seemed to be reheated.

Great BBQ (and Ive lived in Texas) and definitely the best Ive had in the Dayton area. All things considered this is probably my favorite restaurant around Dayton. The food is delicious and reasonably priced and the atmosphere is laid back. The pulled pork and beef brisket are especially good, as is the corn pudding. Its also right next to a Graeters!
