For a couple of years I have wanted to visit Swallow at the Hollow, less than 20 miles from my home. Ill not rush back any time soon. The ribs were OK, honey based sauce, not my fav. The fried green tomatoes were the worst Ive had, bland and too thick. Ill give them a thumbs up on the Brunswick stew. Its a bit small for the number of people they try to squeeze in the, the wait staff, although very courteous were constantly bumbing in to each other. The constant chopping sounds from the kitchen, (not walled off separately) was ok for the 1st 10 minutes or so. Then it really got annoying. The waitress was having to yell at us, and us at her. Mind you, this was Not while there was music. If youre going for beer and music, probably ok. But, to me not a family atmosphere, though there were lots of kids spilling their drinks on both sides of us. I will have to give them a BIG thumbs up on the sweet tea. Probably wont be back any time soon.

I came to this place because I saw it on Georgia eats and wanted to try the "Fall-Off-The-Bone-Ribs" and "Best Mac and Cheese in the World." The staff was friendly and the service was pretty decent and there was no wait at 7PM on a Friday night! The ribs lived up to their expectations! They were truly within the top 15 ribs Ive ever had (I frequent BBQ contests), and they have homeade bread and pies. The Mac and cheese was far from what Id consider the "Best Max and Cheese in the World," but was pretty good. Seeing they have all fresh food, I believe the price reflected that pretty well and they have their own parking lot, although people were not parking correctly in it (there are no lines to help people see how they should be parking) If this place were busy, youd probably still have a challenge finding parking. All in all a good place to check out.

Far better than one would expect nestled in the up-and-coming historic Roswell scene. BBQ should be a hole in the wall with odd shaped smokers scattered about and loaves of stale Wonder bread. Well, welcome to something much better. Start the meal with the smoked chicken wings (Im sure youll enjoy), followed by the homemade sausage or the ribs. The smoked chicken is good, but a little dry, but you cant go wrong with the other choices. The Brunswick stew is average, but if you really want a killer side the greens are amazing. Follow that up with the biscuits and a cold brew and youll be in heaven. Make sure to check out the canoe inside the door near the ceiling, it was originally part of the bar which also used to serve 40oz beer bottles, they had to make some changes to meet the demand for their great food, but the stories remain. Enjoy:)

I dont understand the hub-bub about this place? Maybe only the locals enjoy it? The staff are friendly and upbeat, but lets be honest, you dont go to a restaurant based on how youre greeted. Now, onto the food! The pork ribs I had were certainly just okay. I dont know if its the rub/marinade they use, but it doesnt penetrate the meat like Ive had at Georgia Pig. In fact, its a kind of just plain to me. Portions were large, but sides were very plain. Brunswick stew was recommended by friends. I now recommend you to just pass because its just okay. I enjoyed the fried tomatoes though! You should eat them quickly because the batter they use doesnt hold up for long. I love barbecue, and I wish their smoke was deeper into the meat, seems a bit shallow compared to other "shack" joints.

This defines one of those "hole in the wall" finds that blows you away. After dining here, you dismiss the concept of a run down barn/shack and get lost to what is arguably the best bbq experiences youve ever had. Dont be deceived by the outside, inside the restaurant is cleverly and delightfully designed! My food rating for this place is a 5 star! But, haven eaten bbq for so long Im spoiled as to what should be a staple for delicious comfort food. No hush puppies (none in the menu). I cant for the life of me forget that one detail that pushes this through as a 5 star overall. Portions are GREAT!! You wont be disappointed. Ribs are DELISH! Pulled pork is cooked with awesome smoke flavor and the sliced brisket is absolutely tender!

The restaurant is kinda cute. Our waitress was just okay. Food was also just okay. Nothing to write home about. Their bbq sauce was the best thing they make, even though its on the sweeter side. Mac-n-cheese was also subpar. Its a nice added bonus to have the menu, for their other location (across the street), available to order from. Now the bathrooms are laughable since the rest of the restaurant had the country log cabin type of feel, but the bathrooms are completely contemporary with stainless steel walls. They were nice and clean, just not at all what you would expect for a southern bbq joint run out of a barn. That being said, I wouldnt deter anyone from trying this joint, just dont expect the best thing you ever ate here.

If youre looking for a chill atmosphere, friendly staff and good barbecue this is your place. The flavor of the chicken wings (appetizer) was great, maybe a little too much sauce. The ribs did fall right off the bone, although once again, a little too much sauce. It would be wise to ask for the sauce on the side, so you can add it as you please. The coleslaw was okay, Ive had better and I was a little disappointed (too much mayo). Beer selection good. Mac and cheese was yummy. The slice of bread was top notch. Overall, our experience was good. The sauces are good, just be cautious of the amount. Pickles are amazing!

I would like to first say I am a Pescatarian. I decided to come here because of the vegetarian option, the portabella mushroom sandwich. I ordered the sandwich with macaroni & cheese and the fried green tomatoes. Im disappointed, the bread was soggy on my sandwich, the green tomatoes were not good, but at least the macaroni &cheese was edible (even though it was not homemade - it was processed). When I think of BBQ and southern food, Im thinking homemade - everything from scratch; they missed the mark here. The wait staff very nice and friendly, but the food - not that good. First and last trip here.

Gotta love some goodol Swallow at the Hollow. Whenever I revisit Atlanta/ Roswell after being out of town for a while, this is a required stop. The Hollow is pretty straightforward -- Southern cookin, insanely large portions, rich sauces, and succulent ribs. I always opt for the brisket; consider trying the fried pickles too! The inside is sports-bar-y, but the decor isnt the point. Go with someone who makes good conversation and youll have a grand time.

I agree with another review. Overpriced and the food was actually below average. My service was non- existent. It wasnt busy at all and really didnt feel welcomed at all. I tried the place because I am I was in that immediate area, and I have heard of it from food publications. Not only will I not return, but any publication I see giving this restaurant a good review, I question there motive. Sorry.
