Ever go to places then ask yourself... "Why the hell havent I been here already?" Its something I too often do. Atlanta is an endless adventure especially when it comes to restaurants. So I can give this place a solid three stars for food and an additional for kick ass service! I ordered the Katsu chicken, BBQ beef and a side of macaroni salad. The katsu chicken was pretty simple but was extremely delicious. Perfectly breaded and well cooked. The BBQ beef was delicious and flavorful. Im not a fan of the macaroni salad. Some people rave about it but I would rather have macaroni salad from Publix any day. My yummy meal was accompanied by a Kona beer! YES! YES! YES! Coconut beer from Hawaii. *drools* The owner of the restaurant was our cashier and was extremely friendly. He explained the menu to me and even let me try the different beers before deciding what to purchase. Now, I want to be considered a regular.

I dined at this place for the first time a couple of weeks ago with the recommendation of my brother. This was my first hawaiian bbq ever! I must say Im completely hooked and planning the next time I will be dining there as it is about an hour away from me. The service was excellent and the food was excellent! I had the teriyaki grilled bbq chicken which was served with two scoops of steamed rice and a scoop of macaroni salad. The chicken was most and has just enough flavor. The macaroni salad was the best I have ever had. It was seasoned just perfect with not a lot of mayo. My husband isnt even a big fan of macaroni salads but he definitely enjoyed theirs. I had to get myself a to-go for a later meal since it is far from me. I highly recommend it. Also, many of the items are under $10!!!! Great amount of food for a great price! Parking is a limited, but it was not busy when we went so we were able to get parking.

Myself, MIL, and 2 boys ventured out to find something different to eat for lunch and boy we found it! I was kind of sceptical at first not knowing what "Hawaiian BBQ" was but Im so glad we had it! I had the katsu pineapple chicken, if you like sweet fried stuff I recommend it, and my MIL had the spicy pork! It was AMAZING! We also had the sweet potato fries and crab ragoons for appetizers, I cant even begin to tell you how quick they had everything out to us! They even had the boys chicken tenders out in a flash. After our meal we had shaved ice for dessert. It was truly the biggest cup of shaved ice had ever had, I couldnt even finish it all. The couple who own it were so sweet! I would definitely recommend this to any, and EVERYONE

I grew up in Hawaii so I know good Hawaiian food (which a rarity in the states) and this place is great. Not only does it remind me of Hawaii and is located in this quaint location, but the staff is great. I will admit that food can be a bit pricey for the portions they serve. One tiny scoop of rice, one tiny scoop of macaroni salad and a pinch of salad? UH no. Not going to work. Save yourself a few bucks the first time you go and try the lunch special. You get to pick two meats and the standard sides come with it. That way you can see what you like and order it another time as entree. The macaroni salad? WINNING! Order a side of this and take it home. They also cater and host private events if you ever need it.

Weve been meaning to check out Waikikie Hawaiin BBQ for some time, but finally committed last night (Friday @ 8 pm). We were welcomed by the owner and the small restaurant was 1/2 full. We told him it was our first time and he recommended several dishes. I had the BBQ combo and my sweet Lady had the chicken combo. We were delighted with the tenderness of the meat, the sweet flavor of the teriyaki sauce and the perfectly steamed rice that accompanied it. The restaurant has a laid back, funky island feel to it, but was spotless. The owner checked on every table (always a good sign to me) and we assured him wed be back.

The entrees are excellent! The Waikikie Hawaiian BBQ Pork was some of the best pork I have tasted in a long time and I come from place where the quality of pork is very important! The House Special Fried Rice was of superior quality, as well. The employees are top notch- very friendly, warm, smile a lot, and highly competent. I just wanted to tell you to keep up the good work and that I will definitely return! The atmosphere was great, with videos of Hawiaiian Hula Dance in the background. For the quality of food and at the prices they are at I rank this place five stars! *****

I do not know if some people understand, BUT just because a place has BBQ in its name does not automatically mean that it is southern BBQ. Instead look a little farther and realize that it is hawaiian, not southern BBQ, that is why it says Waikikie HAWAIIAN BBQ. Anyways, back on the subject. This place is fabulous! It is the only restaurant that I have been able to find that is a true representation of hawaiian style food. The service is awesome, and that is something that is hard to find. If I could give it 10 stars, I would!

I dont get to Atlanta often, but when I do, a stop at Waikikie Hawaiian BBQ is a must! The Waikikie Combo plate (with the short ribs, if theyre available) is outstanding. Delicious, juicy cuts of meat with just the right seasoning thats sweet and savory. I once even trekked across town on mass transit when I had an extended layover at Hartsfield Jackson airport just to get my Waikikie fix. Ive tried a few other Hawaiian barbecue joints around the country and theyve paled in comparison. This is the stuff of legend!

Large price for small portions...Variety okay - Atmosphere good - Food good - Prices...not so good. The staff is great but the owner tries too hard & is too touchy! I just wish he would represent Hawaii for what it really is...not the grass skirts & plastic leis - we dont even wear those things. My feeling is, when you represent yourself and/or a culture - do it correct. Better to just buy a cook book from Hawaii and make the food yourself. Honestly, its not worth the drive.

We went to this place on a whim and regret not going here earlier. The menu is a bit overwhelming at first, but the owner did a great job recommending some favorites. The food came out warm and the service was even warmer. The different flavors of sweet and tangy were perfect. There were some unique ways of cooking chicken and pork that you cant find anywhere else. I hope this place stays open for a long time. Well do our part by stopping in at least once a week.

Visited this little gem on a whim. We were initially going to go to the Mediterranean restaurant next door, but my friend suggested we go here instead. Best choice ever. The woman at the counter was SO helpful. She recommended food for us, which was delicious. Loved listening to Hawaiian music and watching videos from Hawaii while we ate. We didnt come late enough for the live music, but hopefully well be able to to experience it. Highly recommended!
