We learned about JL beers a few years back when we were staying in Fargo for a National wrestling tournament where our son was participating My husband and I have gone to eat at JK Beers to eat each year when in town. I know it is only a small amount of revenue, but they lost my business. We took our 19 year old son with us this time. That was a problem because you have to be 21 to come in their establishment, even if you are with your old fart parents and dont plan on drinking! Yes it is posted on the window under hours of operation. Which I did not notice because I already knew they were open. Yes our son was carded. Im sure the server saw the confusion on our face, so he rudely explained that you MUST be 21 to enter! There is a note on the website about it being a hangout for college students. This should be clarified to say 21 years of age college students! Sorry JL Beers, we prefer to spend time with our family rather than your snotty waiter! No burger is that good that you need to be 21 to eat it! Dont take your young adult friends and family! They arent welcome!

I called a to go order at 10:23 am told it would be finished at 11:10am I understanding they do not open until 11a.m. What I do not understand is when I arrived at 11:05 am my order was not close to pick up. I saw them make my fries first then my burgers. By the time my order was done and I was finally leaving it was 11:17am. I do not appreciate my time being wasted, or my gas by leaving my vehicle on longer than 8 minutes only to have a sarcastic sign mock the time I waited. If you can not take customers orders before you open let the customer know. In the end I was not even satisfied with the quality of their fries. Soggy with oil and Luke warm at best...since they made those first rather than the burgers.

SKIP THIS RESTAURANT, go to Culvers down the street! Or Chillis in West Acres if you want a burger and a drink! We had the luck to stop in and hear all the cons told from a trainer to a trainee, then parroted from the trainee to us. What a joke. The whole business plan is to trick a customer into add-ons after add-ons to up their bill, I understand a restaurant has to make money but they need to add a micron of class to their little game and a boat-load of customer service. I wouldnt doubt if the management requires all trainees to log on here and give them five stars after the other things I heard that day!

Best burgers and the best selection of beer in town! These guys keep their food simple, fresh, and have perfected the art of cooking a burger. Their beer selection is meticulously researched and sourced with precision and care. You can tell they really, really care about beer! Try the Humpty Dumpty or the Totally Slawsome burger. The fries are amazing, cut fresh right in front of your eyes. Jim Lauerman was a genius and a Fargo bar icon, and these restaurants are a fitting tribute to the man. The West Fargo location is my favorite! And did I mention the beer is amazing?

The amount of food you get for what you pay is embarrassing as popular as they are in this area. Im not a big guy... And Ive ALWAYS left hungry. Also, Ive not had ONE good meal here. My gf likes this ridiculous place and is the only reason I go. If youre hungry, stay away. If youre meeting some friends and want a few beers and watch games, its not that bad. Horrible business model and I hope theyre dead in 5 years...

Soooo Delicious! Great food & Super Friendly Staff! Very reasonably priced and worth every penny! I have ordered from this location a few times recently and everytime I go the experience seems to get better and better! Havent tried their beer yet but they appear to have an extremely large selection and when I was there I saw them giving someone samples so you can find just what youre looking for ☺

JL Beers is one of the best places for burgers in the area. The experience across all of their locations is great. They have a huge beer selection, so its fun to get something different every time I go. The barbecue burger with barbecue chips is my favorite order!

I always love JL Beers. The burgers are always fresh, never frozen. They are super fast. If you order takeout it usually takes about 5-7 minutes. Always a good variety of beers, and free samples.
