I ordered takeout on 6 - 7 - 17 at the counter. When I ask the cashier how long would it take he replied 10 minutes that should have been a big sign. I ordered the steak shrimp and chicken Hibachi with rice and a salad at $19.95 plus taxes. I also ordered the chicken Hibachi with rice and a salad at 16.85 plus taxes. Well when I got home which is downtown Raleigh so its not that far. I was all ready to eat so I opened up my to go plate and was very disappointed. I feel that my food wasnt freshly-made as you would expect if youre paying that much for a plate of hibachi. It should to be made fresh as you order it. First of all the shrimp was dried out the chicken was hard and dry and the stake was cut into chunks and was very very tough. I felt that I received leftover lunch food because lunch ends at 2:30 p.m. and dinner starts at 5 p.m. and I was there at around 5:15 p.m. I thought with the price I was paying they should have used a ribeye steak or something higher but I think they were using sirloin and below. Half of the plate was filled with overcooked vegetables. I was so disappointed because I waited all day long to taste the hibachi there. I heard it was good and it was my first time going there. I did not call them back because I know from personal experience how hard it is to get your money back from the Asian Community they do not like to refund you your money back they hardly want to do an exchange. Im not trying to be racist but that has been my experience with them so I know what to expect and Im not really up for that fight trying to tell them that something didnt meet my standards. So if youre on your way over there I hope that you have a better experience good luck! . Sent from my Boost Mobile Phone.

We were really excited to try Haru, and I recently made a reservation and took my wife there for her birthday. We were sorely disappointed. Although there were very few tables, the staff seemed completely weeded. It took nearly ten minutes before we were acknowledged by our server, and even then she was very surly. This could have been overlooked had it not been as the meal progressed and they slowed down, the service still remained awful. First the highlights: the princess soup and the signature cocktails were very good. The decor is interesting and well executed. Every other aspect of our meal was less positive. The sushi was lackluster. The rolls were skimpy and overpriced. My spider roll was cold and soggy. The avocado had oxidized and the cucumber was not fresh and crisp. The service was terrible- we did not hear from our server again after our sushi hit the table. Given the wide range of excellent sushi restaurants in the area to choose from, we will not back.

The food wasnt bad (although it took its sweet time in coming out of the kitchen), but service felt rushed and we felt unwelcome as we were seated in the far back of the restaurant despite it being fairly empty. The second we finished our sushi some random waiter abruptly slapped a check on our table without a word, not even asking us if we wanted anything else. Staff barely made any eye contact with us and seemed inexperienced and in a hurry. We pointed this out to the person who seemed to be in charge at the time and got a very dismissive, half-assed apology in return. The sushi chefs behind the bar were the only ones who were remotely friendly and acknowledged us as we left. This was overall a very uncomfortable experience for my mother and I. We used to love this place back when it was under a different name but the service we got was embarrassing and disappointing. Wont come back here again.

I do agree with the just average review, in that the service was sub-par, but I had a woman who was on her first day. I had the Sushi roll dinner, which was outstanding. It is a wee bit pricey, but honestly look at the nearby houses, people who live there have plenty of money and they are obviously the more frequent customers. Anyway back to the point. I had salmon or tuna (I cant remember and I like them both), california rolls, and some shrimp tempura rolls, all of which were better than any sushi I have ever had. I would go again and again if I could afford it, but instead I think Ill have to stick with lunch.

Probably the most mediocre sushi Ive ever had. We got 3 specialty rolls, and it was just sort of warm and chewy (even the tempura was chewy). Fish eggs loaded on everything - we knew there would be some going in, but there was a lot on each roll so it made all three different rolls very generic. The inside of the restaurant looked nice enough, but we were just picking up and the hostess seemed to be annoyed that we were there at all. I dont hate it, but we wont be going back.

I travel a lot for work and have tried sushi restaurants all over the country. This is by far Raleigh best place to get sushi. I recommend the fluke appetizer with the ponzu sauce. Just ask the chef/owner what is fresh and he will steer you in the right direction. I love the amazing roll with toro and ell. Prices are not the cheapest, but it is the only place you will actually get really fatty tuna and the best cuts of fish in town.

My girlfriend and I get Haru Sushi all the time because, simply put, they serve the best and freshest sushi in Raleigh. Everything is prepared to top grade quality and it does take time (so if youre looking for Big Mac you should look elsewhere). As we frequent this establishment, the Haru servers recognize us and greet us warmly every time. If anyone asks me where to get sushi in Raleigh, Haru/Hako is my first answer every time.

Worst meal weve had in a long time. Food was burnt and shrimp and scallops were way over cooked and tough as shoe leather . We pointed this out to our waiter who just walked away and didnt say anything. When we told another employee we were again ignored. Service was just horrible also. I wish I could give this restaurant no stars instead of 1. They dont deserve even 1 star. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Not super expensive for normal mortals, I love superior quality sushi, so I did indulge and spend more than most people would. I definitely recommend the white tuna, fluke, abalone and the pearl in a shell. Dont pass on the miso, and dont be afraid to make an adventure of the experience, trust the chef and try something new. Best sushi Ive had since leaving Vancouver canada.

I get take out here, because it takes so long to get your food when you go in. There were only two tables last time I visited, and they said it would take 25-30 min. It took much longer as I had to wait about 45 min to get my food. It is so inconsistant, and slow. I wish there was a better option there. It doesnt seem like it has any management in the rest. at all.
