My recommendation is get some snacks at a gas station and keep driving. You’ll get off cheaper and with less hassle. They appear to cater to tourists passing through and benefit from being one of the only businesses open. Even with that in mind, the waitress’s Southern “charm” and her hope that I have a blessed day and make it home safe was overkill. She forgot the bread that was supposed to come with the food and one of the drinks we ordered. This was with people milling around the kitchen and maybe two other tables in the whole place. The food was OK but overpriced. $13.95 for Sysco’s microwaveable ziti? If you do order a pasta entrée, make sure there’s not a baked/ non-baked option on the menu. We ordered two ziti entrees and apparently there’s a baked version that’s $1 more. The waitress sure didn’t point that out. When we finished, we waited so long for her to come back so we could pay that I went to the front counter to checkout. I asked (just asked!) about the different prices and the woman at the counter kept telling me I ordered the baked ziti, while pointing to it on the menu and repeating herself, louder each time, as if I were slow and hard of hearing. Then she told me that what I ordered was between me and the waitress. This is all over $2!!! I ended up paying the higher price just to leave. It’s not as if I was asking for a freebie, I just wanted to pay for what I thought I ordered. Also, at the prices we paid, I would appreciate not having to share my food. We watched one of the staff pick something off a pizza waiting to go to a table and eat it. Not once, but TWO times. The flies that buzzed around our heads while we tried to eat were delightful as well. I don’t know if the health inspections just don’t happen around here or what. Do yourself a favor and skip the expensive Midwestern NY-style food and crappy service.

Visited this establishment, was welcomed at the door by the bus boy who told us to pretty much sit anywhere, he did not care. At the time they had 12 tables seated and 3 waitresses and 1 bus boy with numerous people in the kitchen. Was told when we were seated that it was a 30 minute wait for a waitress which we thought was weird (waiting for a waitress already seated) but we decided to try it. Another couple came in about 15-20 minutes into our 30 min wait and were seated. A waitress came up to us and commented on how busy they were and we were given a time of 45 minutes which would have totaled 1 hour. Which at the time we were fine with, however the same waitress went to the other just seated table and gave them a time of 30 minutes and proceeded to take their drink order. We had not even been asked for a drink order. The whole time the bus boy was just standing around not doing anything. The whole while the establishment had at least 3-4 tables unoccupied. However things happen for a reason, left there drove 15 minutes to the StoneWalls in Banner Elk and had a great experience. First impressions can sometimes mean so much and this establishment did not give a good first impression at all. Suggestion, if you are going to seat someone make sure to take their drink order, they would be a lot less likely to leave and also do not complain about how busy you are, better than the alternative which you might become if you keep on complaining.

One of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had. Called ahead for pick up at the window, I was told it would be 15 minutes, so I waited 15 minutes before I left my house. Got there and pulled up to the window and paid and the guy told me to pull up and they would bring my order out. So I pulled up and waited and waited and after approximately 30 minutes later I decided to go in and see what was going on. When I got in and waited in line to speak, I was basically ignored, nobody would speak to me. The guy who took my my money would not speak to me, they did not know where my order was and finally the owners explanation was, and I quote, was, this a restaurant. Well, this had been going on for over an hour, because when I paid my receipt was time stamped and they still did not know where my order was. I got my money back and have never been treated so rudely at a restaurant in my life. Overpriced and itialian only in the since of what they serve. Nothing but red sauce. Never will go back and will encourage anybody I know to drive on by.

We stopped to eat here while on vacation, it was the worst service I have ever experienced. When we arrived there was only one table available that would accommodate my family of four, but it was dirty. After waiting five minutes, we asked one waitress if she could clean it so we could sit down, she replied she would get someone to clean it with an attitude like she was to above cleaning a table. We waited another five minutes before a table was cleaned. Once we were finally seated we waited another ten to fifteen minutes without anyone taking our order or even coming to our table. We ended up leaving when a group that sat down after we did right beside our table got served before us. Worst service I have ever had, they are very disorganized. We ended up going to Carolina Barbeque in Newland, good food and way better service.

Coming from a long line of Italian food lovers...let me tell you..this place has it all. Friendly service, amazing food, and great prices. Seriously, five stars all the way. In college, we used to go to a place called Joes out in Texas that I thought could never be comparable to another restaurant...well...I have found an amazing equal! I had the Calzone which was seriously the size of a pizza...I could only eat half of it because it was so huge. The working manager/owner would walk around and greet people...ask how they were doing etc...very friendly...but still making sure food was going out quick. My wife and I couldnt have found a better restaurant, and we seriously wish we lived out here so we could come back again and again. Were going to miss it:-(

My calzone was really quite good. Service was quite slow. 3 employees asked us if we had been helped while we were waiting on water. When we explained, they commented about how chaotic it was inside. Apparently they had boatloads of to-go orders and the servers help cook the food. Our salads came out pretty quick which made the rest of the experience at least tolerable. All the other dishes came out one at a time with long spans between them - two of us finished a whole pizza before the next dish came. The white pizza was undercooked and the other pizza was only little bit better. The chicken parmigiano was a bit boring but the red sauce was tasty. At least my calzone, which came last, was really quite good.

My family drove through Linville, headed from Boone to Winston-Salem and stopped at a park, asked a local where he suggested for dinner and he mentioned this place. Dont let the generic name fool you... the food was fantastic! My husband and son said it was the best pizza theyve had outside of NY and the eggplant parm was a full dish of eggplant and side of pasta. We took half the pizza and eggplant to the hotel and had it for lunch the next day. A few days later, we decided to go back to Boone on our way out of NC and HAD to stop here again for lunch. It was just as good as the first time! So good. I wish we didnt live 10 hours away.
