Its hard for me to rate any place low, because I used to work in the service industry, and I know disgruntled customers write in more frequently than a happy customer. We were pleasant the entire time, acted nicely towards our waitress, and overall did not voice our displeasures. That being said, heres the deal: my girlfriend and I came in on Sunday to eat dinner and she was also trying out as a backup singer for a band by singing some karaoke, which is supposed to start at 9. We arrived at 830. We ordered drinks and the mozz cheese stick appetizers. It didnt take long for the drinks to come out, but my girlfriends mixed drink was the incorrect drink. She was nervous for her audition and drank it anyways. As we were sitting there talking, a different waitress came up with our entrees and the appetizer at the same time, and noticed we hadnt been plated silverware (we didnt notice. Not a big deal.) They apologized for everything coming out at the same time. The Mozz Cheese Sticks tasted like old oil was used. The $16 Fettuccini Alfredo tasted just like the frozen re-heated Alfredo that the restaurant I used to work at used. My girlfriends dish was fine. Then came karaoke. The DJ had a new PC, and it wasnt working with the system, so he had to leave to get his old PC. Karaoke didnt start until 1040 and the song selection was limited because it was running on an old system. My girlfriend asked if she could be somewhere near the top, because the bandmembers she was trying out for had to leave. Had to be up early. The DJ said hed try to help out. He let three people go, a family of four go, took a 15 minute break, and then let another person go, before letting her up. The bandmembers left before the family of four went up, and she sang and I recorded her. I realize not all experiences are going to be like this, but so many wrongs. Holy cow!

I made a reservation for 25 people at Mona Lisa for my 24th birthday. I love Italian food so thought what better than my favorite food along with a good night of Karaoke. When I got there and the waitress began to take our drink orders, my husband and I were questioned "Are you guys part of a religious group or something because no one has ordered liquor?". After my husband responded that yes we were Christian but that had nothing to do with our drink preference for the night, she walked away and return with the owner. The owner then rudely explained that if we werent planning to drink or eat that we couldnt take up all that space even though we all had a menu in our hand and had every intention of having dinner there (obviously, its a birthday "dinner"). Then, after we explained that we were planning to eat there he said we all looked young and anyone under 21 had to leave at 10pm because the restaurant had a full bar and that was "the law". Although, neither the owner nor waitress could explain which law exactly they were quoting. After realizing the owner was simply upset that a group of 25 had no intention of drinking the night way, I asked my party to get up and leave. I was not going to allow our group to spend a couple of hundred dollars on a venue with such horrible service. Luckily, a friend told me about Shoeless Joes (located inside of the Crowne Plaza) by Bell Tower and we ended up going there and had the best night ever.. great food, amazing Karaoke selection and overall a wonderful night. I will definitely never step foot into Mona Lisa again, it was the poorest service I have ever received.

Disappointing karaoke: Strike one: you give the KJ two songs, he picks the one you get to sing because hes not fast enough to look your song up as you stand there. (No books, all computerized) and then throws the slip away. If you wanna sing the second song too, put in another slip. Strike two: poor selection of songs. I gave the KJ 5 song choices, two new songs and three classics from 60s, 70s. He had NONE of them. Strike three: Its one of those places that stops to play canned music even if there are people waiting on deck to sing. The KJ stopped after about 5 singers and played three random songs, I think mostly to stuff his face with pizza. I think he has forgotten that the main point of the KJ is to keep the karaoke crowd engaged. Oh yeah, and seriously, if you can see your belly button outline under your shirt and there isnt a six-pack to go with it, your shirt is TOO TIGHT. The service was friendly, but a little strange. The waitress kept forgetting what we told her and came to collect money, but had no idea what the round of drinks cost, so had to leave and come back with an amount. On the positive side, the Tiramisu was delicious. I wish we had come for dinner instead of Karaoke.

I went to check out the new Mona Lisa with the old new owners. I go in and there was a party in the dining room with kids going bananas. Found out later that it was the owners family. Couldnt talk to my son across the table. I ordered eggplant parmesan app. and 2 pizzas. The eggplant parmesan was delicious! The pizzas however, were very undercooked and I told the waitress. She told me I should have asked for it to be put back in. The bottom of the crust had no browning on it whatsoever and was as elastic as the cheese. We were the only other table, and feel like if it was that bad it should have never made it to my table. It was a real letdown after the delicious parmesan.

My girlfriend has a gluten intolerance and we travel for our business. So finding new restaurants with gluten free options that actually taste good is important. We have been to Mona Lisa three time so far. My girlfriend has tried the raviolis and the pizza twice. She really likes their gluten-free pizza. The gluten-free raviolis were better than most. but its still gluten free. Sigh. Its awesome that they have the option for gluten-free raviolis. I loved the waitstaff each time. Super friendly and efficient. The pizza was better than most. We will continue going there when we pass through that part of Ft. Myers.

I noticed a couple of negative reviews at the top and I honestly would disregard. Thats unfortunate that they had such negative experiences because I always have a great experience when I am here. The pizza never disappoints and the servers and bartenders are friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is fun and laid back. Hands down best karaoke in town! The host is always accomodating and it seems like every other singer is professional level! There is a reason this place has been around for so long and does such good business! Good food, good atmosphere, good people..what more can you ask for? Highly recommend!

After a long week, it was AWESOME for a free pizza to show up at my work as part of their free pizza Friday (I guess they pick a random business every week for a free pizza? VERY COOL!!!). I havent had their pizza yet, and Ive apparently been missing out BIGTIME. I will for sure be eating their pizza again. It was 5-star worthy in every way. I could continue drabbing on and on about what makes their pizza so great (can you tell I like pizza?), but you just need to go try it for yourself! You will NOT be disappointed. Thank you very much, Mona Lisa. Your kindness means a lot!
