DO NOT GO HERE! HORRIBLE! The one star is for the bread and butter that came "with the meal"after we had to ask for it. I eat Italian everywhere I go because, well Im Italian. This was the most disgusting, over rated, over reviewed food ive ever eaten. Lets start at the beginning. Its in a log cabin that has no relative decor and from Wal-Mart. . no music of any type. There were so many tables crammed in to the rooms that you either bumped into them or had to ask them to slide in so you could get past. This translated into the loudest Italian dining experience Ive ever had. My wife and I could barely hear each other, it sounded like a college cafeteria. The waiter, Ian, does not understand that great service leads to great tips. We sat down at 715 and ordered by 725. nothing but our water came in the next 15 mins. The antipasto we ordered had melon on it, never seen that before, a pile of canned green olives,a pile of red olives, 4 artichoke quarters, and a small pile of pimentos...they all looked and tasted like they were bought from Wal-Mart. Ian refilled our water only twice in 1.5 hours. Our salads came 10 mins after our antipasto. As we waited for our mea I finished my canned beer and placed the glass and can to the side of the table. It was never taken away even though Ian walked by several times. 3 different couples came, sat, were served and left before Ian finally came back and asked "do you want your food now?" I was dumbstruck. He said ok let me go "fire your plates up real quick." Im assuming that meant microwave versus when he brought it to us 2 mins later, the top was steaming and the mushy noodles were near cold. How long they had sat there is beyond me. My seafood fra diavola had the following on it: 3 clams, 3 muscles, 3 shrimp, and 2 scallops.... Ive had this plate many times under different names and they all came with at least double of each sea food. The pasta was so over cooked it was almost breaking apart. My wifes pesto Alfredo was so bland, cold, and mushy she didnt even ask for a to go box, leaving half of it behind. Her dish came with chicken but the amount of chicken on her plate was ridiculous. It was maybe the size of a tenderloin. Also, they told the table next to us that they would not be able to give them any wine for a while because all their glasses were dirty. Overall this was literally the worst "Italian" restaurant Ive ever eaten at. A total WAIST of $60.

I arrived rather early on a Tuesday evening so it wasnt too crowded for me. I had the mozzarella sticks for an appetizer and the chicken Marsala for my entree. Both were good, but the Marsala was exceptional. For dessert I chose to go with that evenings special - the almond & amaretto cake. The waitress said it was delicious and "light and moist" which is why I chose it - I didnt want anything heavy. I dont know if its because I took it back to my hotel and waited an hour or so to eat it or not, but it was anything but light and moist. The icing was also cheap tasting. My waitress, Kai (sp?) was great - attentive and truly an advocate for the food. I would come back if in the mood for Italian and in Boone again.

We stopped in on a recommendation. They were packed! We are a family of six and they had no room for us but they did not turn us away! Instead they squeezed us into a table for four and we had one of the most wonderful, enjoyable and delectable experiences ever! The food was fantastic and the service was outstanding (you go Gabriel!). The staff went way beyond to make us feel welcomed and ensure we had a terrific experience. We will remember this dinner for years to come and look forward to the next time we are in the mountains skiing so we can stop by and see Gabriel and the full staff at Casa Rustica!

We entered the restaurant at 7:02 pm for our 7 oclock reservation. My family and I were seated quickly and we had our orders placed by 7:10 for wine, salads, and entrees. The wine didnt come until 7:45 and our bread by 7:50. After our entrees and starter salads had not come by 8:10, we complained to the General Manager about our situation. We told her that other tables who had arrived after us had already been served and not even our starter salads had come yet. She simply said "were short-staffed." After complaining to the General Manager, we walked out of the restaurant with no food and exasperated by 8:15.

We enjoyed a great meal and topped it off with a trio of fantastic desserts. The food was prepared with fresh, quality ingredients and the portions were generous. The Seafood Fra Diavolo was a delicious combination of shrimp, scallops, calamari, mussels and clams simmered in a rich red sauce with mushrooms and onions atop a bed of pasta. The Seafood Alfredo was really good, too. I thought that the prices were reasonable and the service was excellent. I will definitely return next time we are in Boone.

We made reservations for 6 people (I told them we had 2 small children). We were placed in a back room (understandably so....small kids). We had to ask twice for a booster chair and 3 times for more bread (which finally came without any butter). My husbands Caesar salad was tasteless. Our waitress did not ever stop to ask if everything was ok....we had to flag down another staff member. I know it got busy about 20 minutes after we were seated, but it still took a very long time to be served.

Food was mediocre at best. My wife got a bowl of minestrone soup with her meal and was delighted to find it very good, however she ordered, the tortellini which in her words was ahhh o.k., my veal marsala was like a cheaply prepared thrown together meal, my 3 year old is a steak fanatic and when the hostess asked him if he liked his steak his reply no it taste sour, I tried a piece of it after he said this to find it was actually terrible! Would not recommend this place to anyone.

The overall experience was very disappointing. The food that was delivered took forever, it was cold and the order was messed up. The waitress was very nice and apologetic and recognized that it was not up to par and did not meet our expectations. The restaurant manager should have stepped up and talk to us. The couple sitting next to us was also dissatisfied. For the prices the restaurant charges the service and food should be top notch. We will not return to this establishment.

Went here for dinner while visiting Boone. I am originally from NJ and grandfather is Italian so accustomed to authentic Italian food. Did not disappoint. Had seafood appetizer special with oysters, scallops and tuna ceviche which was delicious. Had chicken marsala with side of penne a la vodka which was excellent. Caneolli for desert was perfect. Service was great. Would definitely eat here again next time in Boone.

Attended a wedding rehearsal dinner July 11, 2014. I was impressed with the wait staff, despite a capacity crowd they did an excellent job of serving the customers. The owner was there and it was clear he cares about his customers. Food was good and it was clear there were many local customers that eat there regular. I give them 5 stars. A good place to eat while in Boone.
