Whether the result of its downmarket location (beside a High Point Road pool hall) or the public’s unfamiliarity with its primary product, Banh Mi Saigon is one of Greensboro’s best-kept secrets. And were there any risk of this review inspiring a shortage, a secret it would surely remain. Banh mi is a Vietnamese catch-all for a variety of sandwiches served on baguettes. At Banh Mi Saigon, you can pile on everything from roast pork and ham to beef and meatloaf to vegetarian mock-meat and more. All are made to order and come layered with veggies (watch out for the hidden jalapeno) and amply spread with mayo. No matter which option you pursue, you’re in for a treat. The bread is fresh and the fillings sublimely flavorful. I ordinarily detest liver, but their pork and pate sandwich — #2 on the menu – was a weekly standby all summer long. The BBQ pork (#4) and the grilled meatloaf (whiteboard special) are quite habit-forming in their own right. Among the non-sandwich offerings, the fresh spring rolls are tasty once you bite into them (especially when dipped in the accompanying peanut sauce), but the waxy appearance of the wrap is somewhat off-putting. Given the quality of the food, it would be easy to expect pricing that belies Banh Mi Saigon’ss location. Fortunately, however, the opposite holds true: prices here are an absolute steal. Most sandwiches and the spring rolls are a meager $3.50 each, a few sandwiches run $3.75, and even the vermicelli bowls don’t run past $8. Consider what $3.50 will buy you at a fast-food chain, and you will marvel at Banh Mi Saigon’s ability to stay in business. Though there are a few tables and chairs, Banh Mi Saigon is best utilized for takeout. The counter staff are polite and relatively quick, but the barebones interior lacks the ambiance to make dine-in worthwhile. If you are a world traveler, chances are you have had better banh mi than you are likely to find here. But if you are a Greensboroian on a budget looking for a quick and satisfying meal, this is as good as it gets.

Banh Mi is one of the best kept secrets in Greensboro, famous for its amazingly priced Vietnamese-style sandwiches and authentic Vietnamese fare at incredibly low prices. They also have a wide selection of bubble teas and other dishes. Only their Sandwich menu is in English, but they have a lot more food selections (including vegetarian options) to offer there if you ask for them. They dont have a website or online menu posted online, but trust me. Worth it. It is in a fairly sketchy shopping mall of of High Point Road, but dont let that deter you. It may not look like much on the outside (or the inside), but their sandwiches speak for themselves.

I love this place. So glad its close to my house! I always have the sandwiches (theyre all yummy). Im sure one of these days Ill get around to trying the other stuff they have. I love their bubble tea. My new found favorite is the strawberry flavor. I dont know what it is, but I believe that they have added fresh fruit to it now so its so much more flavorful! Yay, thanks for doing so!

I am now spoiled! I live out of town, but a dear friend introduced me to SSB and has an employee bring the #2 and #4s in for me! I am NOT a sandwich person, but the banh mi is absolutely amazing! So fresh!!! I even snuck one in for my parents to try and they cant stop talking about them! Next time I will DEFINITELY be stopping in, but for now Ill enjoy another delivery!

I also stumbled onto Saigon Bakery while I was in the same strip mall getting my eyebrows threaded at Mehak Beauty Universe. I tried the special Banh Mi sandwiches which are not my favorite but were very tasty. I wanted to try their barbecue pork or chicken but they were out the day I visited. Still a good price at $3.00 ea. I highly recommend.

I liked it. The food is delicious and fresh. Service the day I went was slow but nothing that offended. They were very busy. I would skip the bubble tea. The one I had had big chunks of ice and it was suppose to be a well blended drink. But please you should be there for the food and the foos is great.

Some of the best sandwiches, but it disturbs me that people that were behind me get their food before me and it is not the first time that this has occurred either. When approaching the cashier to express my concern her response, "okay!" Wont be returning to this location!

The best banh mi in North Carolina, hands down. Location and ambiance is pretty awful. But its the freshest, best tasting banh mi Ive ever had, East or West coast. If you get there during lunch rush, you can watch them making bread

Tasty authentic banh mi sandwiches under 5 dollars. Lots of Vietnamese sodas and beverages as well as sides to go with your sandwich! Dont let the outside turn you away. This place is a hidden gem you wont want to miss out on!

Best sandwich in town! The bread is incredible, crispy and chewy. I usually buy some loaves when I stop in for home. Please bring back the tapioca pearls for the bubble tea ❤️

It is cheap and delicious. Their sandwiches and bubble tea are great. I have also tried the Vietnamese coffee and the spring rolls, both of which are great as well.

The tofu Bahn Mi could use a little more seasoning, but the bread was delicious, the price was right and having vegan options was a treat!
