The Durham Restaurant I would have given it one star, but I have known the chef for years, so this is going to be a tad awkward. Unfortunately, there really isnt anything good to say about The Durham, but I will try. The Space - the restaurant has a "pop up" feel. Not because its exciting, new and edgy, but because its awkwardly shoehorned into a hotel lobby. The Staff - neither good nor bad, but oh so cool in their matching denim uniforms. So cool they failed to recognize that we barely touched our 400 dollar dinner. The Food - I love restaurants where everything is an afterthought but the food shines! This is not that place. I tried to be positive, but like The Durham I failed.

Drinks are a little overpriced, and food was pathetic. You can only order appetizers and their selections is small and unimpressive. My wife ordered the oysters, they were easily the worste oysters weve ever eaten. My chicken took over an hour to come out, which I could live with, but then they were cold and undercooked with the texture of a sausage. I complained and asked for another beer in return. They told me they were sorry I didnt like my dinner and my beer didnt come. To compound these issues, their policy is that they wont break a check up more than twice, which would seem unwarranted. However the atmosphere is nice and its a good location.

Everything was delicious! I know someone who posted a review didnt enjoy the grasshopper sundae. I thought it was delicious! The little marshmallows were super soft, it was drenched in chocolate sauce and the ice cream tasted like fresh-picked mint. All without being overly sweet. We really enjoyed the white borscht, schnitzel, burger, and raw oysters. Our server was eager to help break down the menu and was attentive throughout the meal. One complaint: my wine pours were pretty anemic. So definitely try the food, maybe only order wine by the bottle or get beer instead.

Amazing space- you dont see rooms like this anymore, and its a great throwback to mid-century. The food was excellent, too, particularly the sides and grilled fish. Where this restaurant really excels, however, is at very sneaky, criminal valets. Hats off to the guy who was smart enough to steal my sunglassses but leave the case so I wouldnt notice till the next morning! An immediate follow up call was met with sympathy and a promise to investigate, but that was ultimately lip service and nothing more. But if youre ubering there, more like 4 out of 5 stars.

Arrived on time, the valet service did not show up. Got the car turned around and parked in the loft across the street. Arrived at the restaurant which was almost empty. Placed at a table next to the ONLY couple in the room. Asked about a craft beer seen online atThe Durham web site. Did not have, was informed that beer supplies change almost daily. Next informed that the signature meal of dry aged steak was out of stock. All given by a caviler wait person with a scruffy beard. Canceled drink order and walked out!

One star for the good service. Expensive with stingy portions. My grandchildren could not finish the mint ice cream dessert because they did not like it. Tasted like mint sorbet with Carroway seeds, topped with unsweetened chocolate. The fish was cold and dull. The aged serloin was tough and cold. Dont waste your time and money.

The carrot hummus like salad and fries was delicious! Dessert, was very good too. Main dishes (chicken and pork were ok-ish) Beautiful restaurant, friendly staff.

Drinks were pricy and they took forever to come back. They never input our food order. The manager wanted to make it right and Ill update with a followup.

Atmosphere and staff are phenomenal! The food not so much. Their bone in ribeye which is supposed to be a signature dish was absolutely abysmal.

Incredible food, wait staff, and wine list. Makes a place likes Ruths seem secondary

Best burger ever, get it medium with spicy mustard.
