I have only had one experience in this restaurant, but it was by far the worst I have ever had in the city of Charlotte. I do not believe that a restaurant should be judged by one experience, but other people have expressed similar concerns in their reviews. My family and I visited the restaurant on a Sunday afternoon when it was not busy so there are no excuses. First, my family was seated for >10 minutes, but no one had come to get a drink order. My husband asked the hostess if our server was aware we were seated. She graciously took our drink order and brought the drinks. It took another 15 minutes before any server came to take our order. After at least one hour, our food arrived....cold. My sons Mac-n-cheese looked like it was sitting under the warmer light for the entire hour that we were there. It had a dark crust on the top. We actually asked around the table to figure out who had the hot food. Surely, whatever that person ordered took the longest to make. Sadly, no ones food was hot. My husband wanted to inform the manager of the poor service, but we decided it was a waste of time. The most positive thing I can say for the place is that if the food came to us hot, it would have tasted great. Nonetheless, I will never go there again because the service was so bad.

By far the worst service Ive ever had. Took 10 min to receive 2 waters. Took 15 minutes to receive a glass of wine and a beer because our server claimed she didnt know where the bartender was. Then when the drinks finally arrived she brought us the wrong beer. We waited 5 min for her to come back to the table so we could tell her it was wrong and then she said she would take care of it. Walked away with the beer. Then came back and set it back on the table and said she would be right back. Never came back. The manager, Art, comes by and we tell him whats wrong and instead of fixing the problem and getting the beer we asked for, he said, "what am I supposed to do about it?"... And then walked away with an attitude and said the server would have to pay for the beer. Never came back with the correct beer. Still had yet to see our server so we left money on the table and walked out. The manager followed us out and said nothing to us. Never once did he apologize. Im a server too and this is by far the worst service Ive ever received. The managent is horrible and I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone. I forgot to mention that there was only a total of 5 tables in the entire restaurant at the time.

Was super-disappointed with the Valentines Day experience. Waited over an hour for our food and when food finally came out it was only for half of our tables order. Even worse, the food that did arrive was cold from sitting around. When the hostess called manager over he offered to "personally" look into what happened with the rest of the order. He never came back. After waiting 2 hours we went back to the kitchen to try to find the manager who (big surprise) didnt remember us at all. Even had the balls to offer us a "discount" on the food we never got. This was a new low for our worst dining experience ever. Update: We got a form letter from the locations general manager and were later contacted by Greg Lippert the Chief Executive Officer. I was immediately taken back that the CEO would reach out personally and thought that this was a profoundly positive step for the organization. Assurances and promises were made, but then nothing ended up happening. After no follow up I have to believe that there is an institutional-level leadership problem and that dining here will always be like spinning the roulette wheel.

Taco Mac disappoints big time. I placed an online order for 10 medium wings with ranch. When I walked in the waitress at the front kiosk did not make eye contact with me at all but told me to pick up at the bar. I walked over to the bar and told bartender my name for pick up. He walked in the back came out and slung my bag over the bar counter and walk away. I check my bag and no ranch but instead I had bleu cheese (I hate blue cheese and I didnt order it) I sat down in my car to each lunch after a long day and the wings were undercooked and a little bloody, the sauce is horrible and taste like the juices from the raw chicken were cooked in. Im not a picky eater but I couldnt eat it and ended up throwing the wing in the trash. First and last time I will ever eat here and will NEVER recommend Taco Mac to anyone. Would have given them a zero star but I had to pick at least one to give them a rating. Wasted my hard earned money.

I went on a very calm, not busy, late Friday evening, with my girlfriend. The beer selection is very nice, although a bit expensive. The Brewniversity is an absolute joke. The final prize is a $100 gift card. How many beers do you have to purchase to get there? 1000. One thousand. Spend 3-4k on beer, win $100. Our server succeeded in bringing us water, and taking our orders. A different person brought our beers, another our appetizer, another the entree. The server managed to be there almost never, forgot to bring us the Brewniversity information until we reminded her right before we left, and messed up my order. The sweet potato fries were okay, but severely lacking in toppings for the price. The burrito I had was sub-par; awful compared to Chipotle, and cost more. I had a lot of recommendations for Tacomac, so I might give it one more chance. Things are not looking good, however.

Went with a group of 6 for a beer. Two of us waited 25 minutes for our beers while the rest of our group patiently waited, with their full beers. Had to ask the waitress...said they were tapping new kegs. Waited...still no beers. Changed my order to a canned beer and another in our party ordered a different tap beer. She brought two of the tap beers. Just not what you would expect from a place that bases their business on beer selection. Selection is great--but I wouldnt count on getting what you ordered. Customer service is definitely lacking, although the bartenders are lovely. Maybe those sitting at the bar have a better experience? Not to mention, you have to wait at the bar at least 10 minutes for any type of call-ahead order (even after waiting an additional time before picking up).

I placed a take out order, but they had run out of plastic cutlery. No one bothered to tell me, until I asked. The response was that I should go ask one of the other restaurants in the area. I asked to speak to a manager. He responded that he had just arrived, but another manager had gone to the store. He was "sorry for my inconvenience." How was that helping me? I left, highly disappointed. I returned. There is no way that I should pay $10 for approximately 3/4 of a cup of chili and have to look for utensils. I walked in and asked for my money back. The hostess was kind enough to give me silverware. She was the ONLY one that was remotely helpful.
