Ive been to many bars across this glorious nation and this is by far one of the best. It isnt large or historical and it lacks a food menu*, but dogs are welcome and it is by far one of the most comfortable and entertaining establishments youll find anywhere. Catering primarily to people who want to bring dogs to a bar, it is the perfect place for dog lovers who dont have one of their own. The staff and the vast majority of the customers are great people and extremely friendly, the canine social interaction is highly entertaining and theyve always got a great selection of beers on tap ( many are over hopped, but this sadly has become the norm in Charlotte ) Considering the nature of the place, it is remarkably clean thanks to strict "clean up after your pet rules" and the staffs constant sanitation regimen. Ive visited countless times and have never once seen a person or dog step in a pile as theyre usually disposed of immediately. *Health codes would dont permit food to be served here, but you are welcome to bring in food or have it delivered.

The idea behind this is great but the execution is where it falls short. Pros: When I went everyone was friendly and the dogs were well-behaved, definitely a chill and relaxed environment which was really nice. Cons: One of my main concerns was the astroturf flooring they use for most of the outside portion of the bar. It just seemed unsanitary even for a dog park especially considering how many diseases can be transmitted through urine and fecal matter, to other dogs as well as humans. There was no one enforcing the basic rules of a dog bar/park like rabies vaccination being up to date, making sure the dogs have a friendly temperament, and checking that they are actually spayed/neutered before coming in to play. Lastly, there were several people smoking inside the play area. I couldnt believe that was allowed, what is wrong with having a designated smoking section that is separate from the actual play park and away from the dogs? I dont want my dog around that and honestly thats one of the main reasons I probably wont bring him back.

I have always been a big fan of this place. When my friends complained about how terrible it smelled I always defended it. The owner seems cool and the bartenders have always been lovely. BUT what they are missing is a "dog bouncer" dogs are allowed to endlessly harass other dogs and no one does anything about it. I had a horrible experience here tonight wih a lady with two dogs who did not seem to have ever been trained and constantly berrated my very docile dog to the point he growled at them. In fact, it seemed she had not ever been trained either as she was horribly rude. I will not be back because I no longer trust my dogs safety there :( We left for a safer dog bar. (To be fair - I have once seen a dog kicked out by the bar owner after he attacked multiple dogs. But he was allowed to stay far too long) If you have a gentle dog or a puppy, I would advise you not to come here.

Very fun place to bring your furry friend. The beer selection was way better than I expected, and relatively inexpensive. The staff was very nice, the crowd was great and my dog had a blast! He didnt want to leave! The reason l am taking two stars off is because of the HIGHLY unsanitary astro turf they use. Make sure you are wearing a good pair of close toed shoes, or your feet will be soaking wet in gross fluid. I also wished they would check rabies vaccines before letting dogs in and checking on the temperament of the dogs/owners. I got peed on by one of the dogs, and the owner didnt care. All in all, Id take my doggie there because he had such a good time.

Im giving the place a 3 because it is sucha cool idea, but it doesnt quite deliver.. I was pretty confused the first time I ever went. Tables seem to be set up to form closed groups. There is no bar type area where a single person could sit and watch the dogs, but not look like a loser who had no friends. I wasnt comfortable there either mentally or physically. Those log benches with no backs are torture. Maybe some plastic Adirondak chairs sprinked around would be nice. Now that I had my rant, I love the concept. The dogs were fun to watch and well behaved and my drinks were good. Place was clean and parking lot big enough.I forget, are there pool tables there?

I was expecting a little more laid back environment with an even mix of people and dogs... but this is really for dogs. Its more of a daycare than a bar as dogs were literally, on the bar. My pup was under a constant barrage from other dogs which unfortunately made it a quick visit. The smoking on the covered patio made things worse and have honestly, it should be a non-smoking environment. No reason to jeopardise the health of everyone trying to enjoy the place as well as the dogs. I believe with minor changes, this place could be really amazing.

We brought our new puppy in, and it was really nice to be able to let him socialize while we had a beer and relaxed. Its a very laid back, very social atmosphere for the people, too. Its great that they require vaccination records on the dogs, though they didnt check ours when we joined......I hope they are in general more diligent about this. Love this place, and will definitely be back when our pup is a little older and better trained. It would be GREAT if they added a small menu for people and pups!

Bambi had a ball at the dog bar!! We drove from Raleigh to meet some friends and brought our fur baby with us. It seemed like a good idea to meet at the dog bar so that we could get drinks, while Bambi had fun. BEST idea EVER! Not only were we able to chat and get drinks, we also had the pleasure of meeting multiple love bugs. All the owners were responsible and cleaned after their pets, the floors got hosed down everytime dogs did their business. I wish there were more places like this!

Very cool place, like nowhere I have ever been before. Double gate entry to prevent dogs from escaping (anyone used to a dog park should be familiar with there). Basically it a bar that allows friendly dogs to hang out while owners drink. Everyone seemed really chill. Of course some dogs play rougher than others and a few squabbles happen but nothing anyone freaked out about. Decorated very colorfully with murals and pictures of dogs. Decent little tap list. Would return again.

I loved being around so many dogs and understand that it is likely very difficult to keep a place like this in good repair. That said, the place was in need of some pee-proof paint and wood sealant. A smoke-free area would be nice too for those of us who dont want lung cancer but still want to play outside with our dogs. Overall, very friendly and a unique experience for dog owners.

We had an event here, Ingress First Saturday. And while it was disappointing that no one under the age of 18 could even enter the patio area I know thats the law so I cant hold that against him. The place is so cool sitting around with dogs every where playing with other dogs, coming up to you for a pet, just very enjoyable to be there even if youre not drunking.
