My daughter and I went to Landmark today as we have many times in the past, the Waitress ( which happens to be black) came over, she never greeted us, smiled or looked at us, looking downward, she said are your ready, as we are ordering, she interrupts saying, do you want butter on your toast, we said of course and I commented, never been asked that before, still looking down she responds, well some people dont like butter. My response was, is this a conversation you have with all your customers before you provide them service, she never responded. She never came back to our table until we asked for our check. Prior to us getting the check a White couple was sat behind us, she approached their table with the best greeting you could expect from a Waiter. My daughter leaves the Tip with a note. In leaving I asked to speak the Manager. Manager said, I love this Waitress and she was not feeling good yesterday, I couldnt believe this Manager completely ignored my complaint and take defense of the Waitress before I could finish telling him my concerns. The most upsetting thing was, as Im speaking to the Manager the Waitress comes to me with the tip and note and says, here you can take this back because I dont want it. The Manager did not say one thing but he took the note, let her walk away then continues to ask me what problems I had with her. This is Bad Management and it is Unacceptable any every form, when I told him about how she greeted us differently from the White customers, he then said, well that part concerns me. REALLY, let me understand, the part that she never greeted the customer, not coming back to table during entire time we were eating, and walking up to a customer in front of Manager telling a customer she dont want a Tip didnt concern him? MY OPINION: Landmark Diner on Central Ave in Charlotte North Carolina seems to have become so complacent with their existing behavior that it now condones behavior that could be considered profiling of their customers. Its too bad because for the most part we have had good experiencing there in the past. The fact that the Manager immediately responded to me that he loves the Waitress before completely hearing my complaint was very confusing . Maybe its something more than a Manager / Waitress relationship; one thing for sure, its not standard behaivor. ctm

Really awkward server who just looked angry and spilled water a lot. Granted we were a party of 14, everything came out at different times and we were still missing quite a few side dishes, and one of our parties entrees came out after everyone finished eating. the atmosphere is weird and looks like its still living in the early 90s, mirrored walls everywhere, and ugly carpet that needed vacuuming. As for the food, the best thing i ate all night was the salad. For a greek restaurant, they had bland moussaka, and everything, everything needed salt. Everything. I tried all of my friends dishes and none of us were really pleased, and we were all culinary students, and I ordered rice pilaf on the side of my dish and got plain coked instant white rice, so yeah... The the checkout/cashier system they had set up was about outdated as it gets, and i felt personally overcharged, and if it werent for the 18% gratuity at parties of 4 or more, then i wouldnt have tipped at all. Went out simply to explore a new restaurant with a god reputation and were ultimately and horrendously unsatisfied. Never going back.

RUDENESS! !!!! I used to go to this restaurant. It was actually one of my favorites. Until today....9/6/2015. We wanted to go out for dinner and I convinced my husband to go to Landmark. When they assigned a table i asked for a booth instead and the girls face was very sarcastic... she also started laughing. Her name is Sandra. Once she had our booth ready she said "follow me" in a very sarcastic way when I saw her attitude I decided to leave I decided not to spend a penny in this place I used to go to for years and employees were different I dont know whats going on but this girls attitude its going to ruin the business when I ask for a manager they said that the rude girl and the girl at the counter were both in charge I cannot believe that someone that doesnt know how to deal with customers is in charge. Dear manager please if you want to keep your business successful, dont allow this people treat your customers like trash remember they have a job because people like us go there to spend their money.

Well as usual, the food was terrific! Excellently seasoned and gigantic proportions. However, this birthday celebration was marred by the terrible handling of our particular situation, Having a party of about 20, we knew that Landmark did not take reservations; but having spoken twice by phone to the management and once in person once we got there, we were assured we would be seated as close together as possible. This ended up being on two completely opposite ends of the restaurant, despite there being 3-4 empty booths right behind us. When the manager was asked why she could not sit them with us, she just kept repeating "I just cant" What kind of an explanation is that? I have my suspicions, but I dont want to be petty. This completely ruined an otherwise terrific night, Our waitress was great! And probably made the experience less horrible. I like to recommend places to people, but would definitely give a caveat to anyone with a large group.

I hate it, really do, when I go to one of my favorite restaurants and walk away disappointing and not feeling well. Forgot my fries with dinner. Were having fresh ones made. The waiter came over and asked if there would be anything else: FRIES. At that point I was done with what was a terrible steak. Ordered one size got another. I told him to give my wife the apple turnover she had eyeballed since we went in in exchange for said fries. I gotta a slice of Apple Pie to go. Tasted stale. Big ole belly upset. Dear Landmark, It will be a long time returning. Great breakfast. Lousy attitude and $1 50 for a LITTLE cheese. Diners Drive-ins and Dives that will be 30.00. This AM I have the runs and nauseated.......I ordered the 16 oz chopped sirloin, instead I got this Patty that was HALF as thick as a McD. Burnt to a crisp. Waiter was friendly, but the rest of the staff never made you feel comfortable for one minute

Visited with coworkers during lunch hour. Two of us thought to leave in advance so as to get a table to seat all of us (7persons) only to be told when we arrived that our entire party had to be present to be seated at the table. Even, after we informed staff that we had everyones order we still were denied seating at a table before the remaining people arrived. Where do they do this at?!?! So, we waited and the waitress comes to us stating that she was taking such a big risk losing her job with seating us. But she finally sat us. We were able to order but the food came to us slowly and wasnt worth the hassle. Maybe if were walking with canes and had oxygen bags or were in wheel chairs we would have been accommodated since it appeared every nursing home crew was in the building. It is likely that I will not be returning.
