We went there for lunch a few Saturdays ago and the food and service were so awful that my family is still talking about it. The hostess had a huge attitude and wouldnt get us a high chair for my 1 year old so my dad had to search the restaurant for one. We were waiting on drinks for way too long. The food took forever. My sister has to eat gluten free so she was trying to make a sandwich that was appealing without the bun, she asked if it was okay to switch out the chicken for a turkey burger which the waitress said was totally fine and then tried to charge her a $5 surprise upcharge when the bill came. So $18 for a piece of chicken with cheese on it - no bun. Ridiculous. The rest of the tables food was bland. We had to go to the bar to ask for things sometimes because the waitress never brought them and we got eye rolls from the bartender. When I told friends about our experience they informed me that they thought GFY was cowbells motto which makes a bit more sense since we felt that we were treated that way the whole time but if that is their thing then they need to make it more well known bc I personally dont want to go to a restaurant where I feel unwelcome the whole time.

Four stars because our waitress was terrible. We waited nearly ten minutes before she came to take our drink orders, then another ten minutes later she took our appetizer order and as I had begun to place my dinner order, she walked away from us to put our appetizer in the computer then walked off. Our food was served by another employee and our drinks only refilled once by another employee. Every other member of the waitstaff was friendly and helpful. She must have been fresh from Applebees or TGI Fridays. On to the food. Our food came out fairly quickly and was delicious. The disco fries (poutine) had perfectly seasoned gravy and had the sweetest onions with large, beefy mushrooms. I ordered a bacon burger (meduim) with sweet potato tots. The burger was cooked perfectly and the tots were crispy outside and creamy inside. I would make the trip again just for those glorious tots. My SO ordered the double burger (well) which also came out perfect and juicy. All in all, we would definitely go back. The prices are decent for the excellent quality food, the decor was wonderful, and the music videos were great.

This place will melt your brain with their quality of burgers. A little pricey for a burger place, but it lives up to their tag of "gourmet burgers". Expect to pay $9-12 for most of their menu. I had the Bruiser Burger (bleu cheese, caramelized onion, shitaki mushrooms, etc.. ) and almost cried in delight after pairing it with their sweet potato tots. The classy rock and roll theme inside is well done. This all-American bar doesnt skimp on design details inside, and has plenty of bar space. Back to burgers: My fiance delighted herself with the Carolina burger. The homemade slaw and chili is fabulous and lives up to my strict standards for sandwiches that assume the name of our great state. Finally, dont miss out on their homemade mac and cheese... just trust me on this. Get this as a side or order it extra before you finish your visit.

When I first got in it was promising, nice décor, staff was friendly. Ordered a meal to go, sat and had a drink, bar staff was great...so far so good. First the order came out on a plate...I did not even look at it just said I ordered it to go, plate went back. A few minutes later????? came out boxed and ready to go. Got home...it was not what I ordered, should have been the Dumplin instead a chicken breast sandwich. I call and am told "well do you want to come back down"...No, I dont want to come back down.."Well we dont deliver, so there is nothing we can do". Wow, great, I get to do the work to correct your mistake...WRONG! Chicken sandwich...tired it, did not like it ..could have got that at ChikFila I will not be back! Dominos will treat you better than that when they get the order wrong.

Ive been twice and enjoyed my meal both times. It is very loud and not very big inside, and certainly has a youthful, trendy vibe to it. Not overly obnoxious, however! The second time we had a LONG wait to be served after being seated, and when I finally went back to the door to tell the hostess, she promptly got our waters and then a few minutes later a manager came by and apologized and gave us free appetizer coupons for the inconvenience. Super nice and responsive management. Food is good and creative toppings. Pretty standard type burger bar, but tasty. Prices are reasonable, especially for uptown. Dont be alarmed by the location and not finding it quickly or easily (it is sort of an alley) but its very nice and clean inside.

Great atmosphere in here. Lots of fun for groups. I wandered in solo and just wanted to know what downtown was like (or as they call it here, "uptown"). I chose Cowbell because the burgers looked fun and they had a nice selection of local breweries. I got the GFY burger (yeah, I think it means what you think it means). Im not sure what "responsibly sourced" fois gras is, but the burger was excellent. I had them hold the apricot marmalade, though. I really cant stand it when restaurants feel the need to coat good meat in sugar. I did try a bite with it in there, but Im glad it was on the side. Its just a personal preference of mine. All in all I really enjoyed this place and will be back whenever I can make it.

First of all i would like to say cowbell has great food/services. My waitress was awesome she was very polite attentive to our needs. But i have a serious issue with ppl who dont Wash their hands. We were greeted by a hostess/bartender who wasnt friendly and as i observed her while she fixed drinks and serve food to the ppl at the bar she not once wash her hand. When She wasnt serving a customer she was sitting down playing on her phone, scratching her head and left the building came back in and still fail to wash her hands. Management u need to give ur employess a class/training on hand washing. Smh. Good thing i wasnt the health dept because u guys would haven gotten a F.

I might have had high expectations when trying this place for the first time, but honestly I was not wowed by the food, service, drinks, or location. I didnt hate it, it was just overpriced for what was served. The burger meat is so much smaller than the bun. The Onion rings were really good though. Their specialty "Cowbell" mixed drink was lacking any flavor. The service was okay. I felt like the staff was going through the motions and wishing they were anywhere but there. Our bill for a couple of mixed beverages and 2 burger meals, plus tip, was $70. Also, the music played here is very intense and extremely loud. I probably wont make a effort to go back again.

Used to be my favorite. Food is great. Actually found this place in a drunken stumble late night. It was one if the few places in the area still serving food. But I found it again a few times and while the food is still great, it has this weird night club feel complete with terrible music so loud that you cant hear the person across from you. The food is great but not worth the trouble of the terrible atmosphere (the wall art is cool though) maybe they can do carry out, or even better, delivery... That way I dont have to park 5 blocks away and sit in that cluster f@×k just for the great food.
