My wife and I were asked to attend a birthday party at Mimosa Grill on Saturday night. Out of curiousity I googled the resturant on Friday to see what I was in for. I was very excited by the menu and even more thrilled about the Farm to Fork slogan. Our party was seated at 7:30. My initial impressions were that the decor was very nice. The party of 14 was seated at 2 joined tables, one server handling each table. I have served before and realize this is customary. However, the server seemed to alway be confused. Somehow other people within the party ordered appetizers for me??? Any requests being made by the guests at my end of the table seemed to be ignored, which we finally concluded had to be because of our age compared to the other guests at the table. We finally got our food at 9:30. It was very bland and not worth the amount of money it cost. Serveral steaks had to be sent back for recooks and servers confused many of the dishes and sides. I have personaly raised beef cattle, and worked in an upscale steak house. I know a great steak and service when I experience it. The service and steak wouldnt have even been acceptable at Texas Roadhouse. If it wasnt for my wife, who is much more forgiving, I would have pulled the manager aside and spoke to him. This experience was dissapointing to me because I root for the Farm to Fork system. The only positive I can come up with is that gratuity was added in automatically. Anything over 10% would have been robbery.

We were in town for a reunion and decided to stop here for lunch. They were offering their Saturday Brunch menu, which Im assuming offers limited options. The decor was very nice, dark and intimate, and the indoor patio was bright. We were sat by the bar, at a table near the bathroom. I actually liked the location of the table. It was out of the way from the main dining areas and offered a very quiet experience. Service was attentive but not overbearing. My husband ordered the burger (on a brioche bun) and regular fries. It came with a side of slaw, but he didnt eat it. My entree was described as Marinated NY Strip with a mushroom sauce and truffle fries. I expected a small strip steak (whole) but instead literally got a few strips of steak over about 5 small asparagus spears. I was a bit put off by the portion size to be honest. With that said, I found the food quite good. The truffle fries were hot, salty and savory. They stayed hot throughout the meal, which I was very happy with. The mushroom sauce, was tasty, though it got a bit gelatinous as it cooled. We also had peach bellinis and they were served in a large wine glass but you did not get a large amount. Again they were good, but we were both put off by the small portion.

Excellent lunch specials, pot roast on Mondays is better than grandmas house. Upscale vibe and service, staff gives attention to ensuring a service oriented dining experience - perfectly polite and experienced waitstaff who visit at the right frequency and offer nearly a country club level of service. This restaurant knows its clientele well; uptown working set who frequently use Mimosa Grill for client meetings or intra company one on ones - because those customers can trust that theyll get a professional dining experience. A critical drawback is that they frequently run out of their revered daily lunch specials quickly - 12:45 sellouts of their excellent specials dissuade me from coming here any time other than before noon during the week, although I recognize they may be making the scarcity play deliberately as a strategy for cementing their position as a premium option for those looking for an uptown lunch a cut above the rest.

I attended a birthday luncheon. The menu was customized. We were offered trout, shrimp and grits and steak frites. I order the shrimp and grits. I had five shrimp and six pieces of andouille sausage. Authentic shrimp and grits are not tomato based. Mimosa used a tomato sauce instead of a roux. Not my favorite flavor. Those that ordered the trout were blessed more than the others, the trout was the whole fish cut in half and served as two pieces. The trout was delicious. The steak frites was a mere joke. Those that ordered had five pieces of cubed steak and a half a handful of potatoes. Not enough to fill an adult man. Our deserts choices were a mini cookie, a mini coconut tart and a brownie that was an inch in diameter. Not impressed and this is not my first time dining at Mimosa.

Definitely my favorite restaurant in Charlotte! I visit this restaurant at least 3 times a week, especially their Sunday brunch! While the food is exquisite, from the meat and cheese appetizer and flatbreads as appetizers to lamb chops and pimento cheese encrusted filet as entrée, it is the whole staff and management that makes me want to keep coming back. Trip Cagle, is the most hospitable GM I have ever met. He always made sure that customers get the best service! He went out of his way to order a 33 year old wine for a customer when asked if he had any in stock. He also gives the best suggestions on food and drinks for customers, and I believe this astounding customer service has emanated to the rest of the staff in providing excellent service to their guests!

Reservations 1 yr. in advance because they were booked the previous yr. . Mothers day 2016 dinner @ 1830 place was practically empty and our waitress still forgot about us. When our food finally arrived we asked for sea salt & ground pepper. Never came! My wife went to kitchen and ask because nobody came back .Food was bland... They said sorry we forgot about you. What ? The place is practically empty... . Our water glasses were empty and my wife wanted another cosmo. . Way overpriced $$$ . We drove 1 hr. to eat here because this was were my wife wanted to go. Never Again! . Wife & I have traveled the World. Longhorn or any number of establishments are better at half the price. .

Had a great meal and experience at MG recently. Had tickets for a show and wanted to have some dinner before hand but was running borderline late to have dinner and make it to the show on time. Spoke to the GM, Luke Andrews and let him know the situation meaning we needed to rush things a bit. Luke and his team made it happen. This was all on a super busy night because the Panthers had a home game that night and needless to say, the restaurant was packed to the ceiling! Thanks a million to Luke and his team. We had a great meal and made it to the show with 5 minutes to spare!

Last night we had a very nice dinner at the Mimosa Grill with excellent service. The only thing that was unappealing was the fact that we were outside on iron tables with no place mats. The tables were not exactly clean. Ours had ice cream that was not cleaned from the table and it had dripped under the table in a blob. It was on my shoes in seconds and the broken glass under the table was not appreciated either. Surely, a nice restaurant can afford to give you a tablecloth or placemats and a clean eating space. Disappointing for such a nice restaurant.
