I have dined here 2 times. I am of Indian origin and have dined all over NYC and NJ Indian restaurants. This can NOT be the best Indian restaurant by miles. Food is average as compared to Lexington Ave and 26th St INdian restaurants. The real problem is not the average food or a little higher price (it is atleast 10% more than any contemporary Indian restaurant of same interiors) - but the problem is the tip amount and tip section in the bill. First they add 20% tip to the cost of dishes and then the tax. So they say that 20% tip is mandatory. The catch is - they have another "Tip Amount" section in the bill as every other restaurant bill has. So if you are not reading closely, you will end up giving extra tip. Now the grand part - the tip does not go to the waiters but to the owner only - this comes from someone who awaits table in this restaurant. In my opinion, for an average food, the price is high and immoral. But then there is no other Indian restaurant nearby.

Below average food. Obnoxious staff I visited this place last week with a friend. She wanted to have a nice spicy tandoori chicken and we conveyed that to our server. Instead we got a bland chicken with no taste of Tandoori masala and all it had was a lot of red color. We also ordered daal makhni which was OK. The only think I did like was the papad that they served in the beginning. After eating and disappointed by the food we decided not to tip the server as he obviously did not make the food to our directions. Once I got out of the restaurant and got to my car across the street, I saw my server coming towards me as he approached the car. This guy came over to question me as why I did not leave him any money as a tip. That is ridiculous. You serve mediocre food to your customers and charge them high. Then treat them bad and expect they will give you a tip? This was one of my worse experience and thats why this place definitely deserves a 1 star.

Im just finishing some food i ordered to my house. Ive dined inside the restaurant once, too. The food was excellent both times. People love to be spiteful pricks and only write reviews when something goes wrong. It is a grave injustice that they have a three star average. One star review? That person is obviously out to get the establishment for one bad occurrence, probably without even asking them to make good on it. Please, grow up. The ratings are the most public and important representation of a business, and it isnt fair to try to ruin someones livelihood because you had one bad meal. Ordered the Chicken Makhani and the Beef Samosa. The breads are great, too. My rating lies somewhere between four and five stars, but for the sake of balance Im going with 5.

I went there for the first time in my life and would like to share my first impressions about this place. The place itself looks amazing inside, very nice and comfortable furniture, relaxing music, amazing colors, and textures. The food is not expensive and pretty good. Im not Indian and cannot say if the food is truly indian, but I can tell that it is very testy and weitresses will help you if you need any explanation. The personnal is fast and very responsive, not to mention that they are very polite. There is a great choice of wines, different drinks, and Indian beers.

Delicious! Whenever I go to a new Indian restaurant Ive never tried before I always try the Chicken Tika Masala. If they can do a halfway descent job, then I know its a good place. Needless to say, it was delicious. If I had only one minor quibble, I was never offered the choice of mild or hot. I think my dish came rather mild. Perhaps this is the norm around here but I love my Tika really hot. I guess you just have to make sure when you order to ask for hot. But Im not going to deduct any stars for that. I will definitely come back.

My wife and I love Indian food and this place surpassed anything weve had before. Appettizer...the fried cheese and tamarind, tomato and green (not sure) sauces with papadum were amazing! The naan bread with garlic (have to give credit to the water as well) was fantastic, the Chana masala was mild and delicious (wife) the Ghasst Eggplant with beef medium (I should have gone hot but first time here) was excellent! Finally, desert...I had Indian ice cream and my wife had rice pudding...well, alls well that ends well!!!

Worst Tandoori Old precooked : I had tandoori chicken last day and it was horrible. I have ate good fresh Tandoori chicken from different places. The chicken was old. I was sure it was cooked like a day before and they just heated it up before serving me.. The meat close to the bone was black and soaked in oil which means that the chicken is old. I will never eat tandoori from here and I do recommend others, not to eat tandoori chicken from taste of India in new drop lane Staten island.

I do not know where all of these negative reviews are coming from... I have been coming here for years and have yet to have a bad experience. I am a chicken kind of guy and the Chicken Vindaloo, Chicken Mango and Chicken Tikka Masala all have been very good. I usually wind up ordering too much but then I just have lunch the next day. Also... Google does not let restaurants randomly take down reviews so Moustafa must be misinterpreting the facts.

This restaurant decour is simply beautiful. They are a little hawkish meaning someone is always at your table asking you "is there anything else you would like"--- gets a little annoying. I want to be left alone, eat, drink and leave. but the food was great, extremly expensive. A drink is 12 and up. My husband and I went there and the total bill was 104 dollars not including tips. So its pricy. But Good, I enjoyed the food.

Went here for Valentines Day 2017 at around 3pm. It was (thankfully) empty but I had a reservation anyway so it didnt matter. The staff are very attentive, polite and fast. Food was very delicious! Restaurant is clean and bathrooms are clean. The restaurant did not have a parking lot (that I saw) so I had to park just 2 short blocks away. Other than that will definitely try to visit this place again!

Decor and Service is Great.. but food has nothing to do with authentic Indian taste... I tried lot of Indian restaurants in Philly, Jersey, Manhattan, queens and long island. There is nothing wrong with the food, but the taste is not real Indian. Also buffet has no choices.. Jersey and queens has better lunch buffet for $6.00.............

Food tastes/looks/has better consistency than any Indian restaurant in Manhattan or Queens (I would say Ive eaten at 30-40 Indian restaurants in NYC). Cheaper than Manhattan Indian food. Portion sizes are good. Service is fine. Ambiance is excellent. Location...why the heck is this in Staten Island?! Needs to move to Manhattan :)!
